I shouldn't be feeling like this...because I do my own thing, don't do a DD daily and can be done anytime but with December coming soon, all of of a sudden I feel really stressed! Does anyone else feel like this? I think its partly knowing that soon there's gonna be loads of posts on IG ....

Does anyone else feel like this? I think its partly knowing that soon there's gonna be loads of posts on IG .... This is the one project I can never seem to get into. I have so many started books but I never get past foundation pages and I’ve grown to resent the project. I always feel so out of the loop during this time because I won’t even get my December pictures until January. This year I’ve given myself permission to just bow out of the thread and do my own thing in regards to memory keeping. And it’s no ones fault but the vast amount of product releases stress me out too. And like you have to decide in AUGUST what you’re going to do or risk missing out on product! So like I said I just think dd isn’t for me. And that’s totally ok. I do mainly travelers notebooks and have dozens of completed books on the shelf, and a lot of people can’t get into TN. So it’s a “you do you” situation. Do whatever makes you happy!

Classic case of social media pressure (and the anticipation of it), sweet @northrigg . *hugs* I've accepted my fate as the ugly minimalist duckling in the merry bunch of DD/JYC-ers this year. It's all fine. I'm just going to do my thing and have my own fun. Instead, I'm super excited about all the fun things ahead! Going to see Frozen II, a trip to Disneyland, decorating my mother and stepdad's Christmas tree, the special baked goodies at the bakery you can't get outside of the holiday period, petsitting for friends and family (EEP, A FRENCH BULLDOG), etc. I was stressed a week ago about finishing the DD + photo challenge prompts. I've entered the it's-too-late-it-is-what-is-it-will-be-what-it-will-be-let's-just-chill zone.

I hope you won't abandon us during December, julie5. This thread is meant as inspiration and definitely *not* a DD/JYC documenters-exclusive zone. No need to be working on an album during December to check in, have a seat, put your feet up and chat along.

Knock back a holiday drink and chill, @northrigg . You've got this. I start documenting on Thursday with (US) Thanksgiving and will end at Christmas or a few days after. I get my pics from Costco when I can and I'll catch up in January to finish it off. This year is a funky December for me with having all my kids in school and also documenting we'll be less than 60 days from our DW/HPW trip. It's a little nuts. sleepingbooty WE SAW FROZEN II ON SATURDAY AND IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD! I hope you're planning to post some Disney pics on your IG account. I book our FastPasses early December. Public Service Announcement This thread will be updated daily with a DD/JYC prompt for the 31 days of December, like last year, with 2 dedicated catch-up days. Fresh prompts, new inspiration. No pressure to be all caught up or to do an *actual* DD/JYC album to continue exchanging in here. This is our common room and *everyone* is welcome. BUT... wait for it... there will also be a brand new 31-day photo challenge featuring completely different prompts over in the GS Challenges corner of this board. 2 for the price of 1 (and that 1 comes free ). I hope this will inspire some of our merry DD MEGAAA thread bunch to check in over there (an underrated and super cosy nook on 2PR) and get some extra inspiration. You know you want to... Sneak:

I have decided I liked Frozen II better than the first one.
Also, I am a rule breaker with DD as well but I gotta have my numbers. What is civilization without font design?
I do try to keep things in order but it doesn’t always stay that way.

I’m not using numbers and I’m not doing it daily. And I’m going to see frozen on Friday and it will be the first day. Day 2 will be my tree on Saturday. I may even throw thanksgiving in there too for giggles.

dawnnikol SIIIIIXTY DAYS, aaaaaaah! So freakin' excited for you and your family. (Trying to avoid Frozen II spoilers until we go see it, probably this weekend but yay, super happy that it got your seal of approval! Can't wait to see it. I already know all the lyrics to the French version of Into the Unknown...) Can you keep a secret? We've already been to DLP a couple of weeks ago. On a whim. We had the opportunity to take a day off at the same time, booked some last-minute bullet train tickets, didn't tell anyone and just went. Some friends were asking us just a few days ago when we were going and we were kicking each other under the table, suppressing smiles. Will definitely post some photos when we go (back) in December. I've been debating a private scrappy IG account to communicate more regularly with my 2PR ladies. I should totally do that before my next visit.

Does anyone else feel like this? I think its partly knowing that soon there's gonna be loads of posts on IG .... Me too! The downside of sticking my fingers in my ears for the whole of October/November and refusing to have anything to do with DD is that suddenly December is on the horizon and I've done nowt! It was brought home to me very firmly on Monday, because we are in the US right now, in Pittsburgh till tomorrow and I took the recommendation from here to visit Scrapbook Super Station in Butler PA . Oh. My. Word. What an *amazing* place!! Super friendly owner, Amy with so many original projects, beautifully made and so inspirational. My only saving grace was that the style wasn't quite "me" - a bit olde worlde and more Graphics 45 than Pinkfresh, if you get my drift. But it did bring home to me that I've done zilch. zero. nothing about my DD for this year yet!! I was going to buy some new bits and pieces until I realised tht I haven't even opened my boxes yet (Sorry, sleepingbooty I've let you down big time <g>) Home tomorrow then and had better get to it. I don't feel stressed *yet* but give it time and I will. Oh yes, I will!! ETA of course I bought stuff! Nuno drops (which I've never seen IRL before) and a few non-DD related things!

Whelp guys... I'm off on our Boston trip for Thanksgiving directly after work today and then we will be returning on December 1!
+ My supplies are organized and my cover page is completed. - I still have some unfinished projects unrelated to DD on my desk that I had hoped to finish and put away before the month. + We went shopping last weekend for some new holiday décor we "needed" and wrapping paper. - I have barely started Christmas gift shopping at all. + We went to our storage unit yesterday and got out the tree and a box of décor. - I forgot that I put the majority of the ornaments in a different box and couldn't find them. + I have a loose outline of the activities/schedule of our December and it looks like it's going to be a fun & exciting month. - I didn't get the house cleaning done or set up my daughter's advent calendar like I wanted to before vacation.
Regardless... I'm ready for this project that brings me so much joy during the busiest time of the year!

lasteve1, my situation is very similar. Trying not to stress about being on vacation through Sunday when I have so much to do at home. I can't wait to get back and break out my 2019 DD stuff. I JUST finished my 2017 DD, so haven't allowed myself to dig into the "new" stuff. Can't wait to get back!

Ordering the final Christmas gifts this week and I was looking into some reviews of a French website selling hipster, handmade in Belgium suspenders I'm interested in purchasing. Before you know it, I have a fashion show from said website popping up on YouTube. A suspenders fashion show, m'ladies. I had to watch. For science reasons. Enjoy!

I hope it's ok for me to share, I've just uploaded the flip through of my 2018 album.
Caveat: I rushed into filming it and didn't really take some time to think about what I wanted to highlight and talk about so I spend more time talking about the events in the album than I would have liked. Ordinarily I prefer it to be more about the products and techniques. What a beautiful album. Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to try to drag my SIL to Last Christmas over Thanksgiving. She should enjoy the music if nothing else. RIP George Michael We were together at Christmas when we heard he had died, so it seems fitting to see the movie together. I've been thinking about the movie since I saw it, so I'll be happy to watch it again. Yes, I really enjoyed the movie too. Was I the only one that didn't see what was going to happen?

I was primed for there to be a twist and did see part of it right from nearly the beginning, but I didn't make the complete connection. I kind of wished I hadn't even known that there was going to be a twist, which is why I'm marking this as a spoiler.

Were there differences in the suspenders besides color? There were suspenders?? Well, I'm sorry to dump a downer on this lovely thread but... we just arrived in Hawaii the night before last but tonight we're flying back home with the family we were visiting because their mom/grandma died this morning. She had been in ill health for many years and her death wasn't completely unexpected but because she had survived so many health crises it's hard to believe that this time she didn't. I was expecting a pretty chaotic start to the Christmas season given that we weren't flying home until Dec 3rd, but this is something entirely different. As a memory keeper I'm relieved that I got her in a few photos lately, which was something that wasn't easy, but the last photo I took of her was a happy one. I think I will be extra-grateful for Shimelle's JYC this year.

we are in the US right now, in Pittsburgh till tomorrow and I took the recommendation from here to visit Scrapbook Super Station in Butler PA . Oh my goodness! That's so crazy. We live South of Pittsburgh (about 1.5 hours) and go there all the time. Years ago I went to a Scrapbook store in Butler (I think) with a friend. It was delightful. I had completely forgotten all about it. I think it was more of a stamping store. I will have to see if it's the same place and take a little detour next trip. I hope you liked Pittsburgh. It's a pretty big city that I think is often overlooked. It's actually quite charming and with so many little neighborhoods, it can really feel like a small town. They are trying to manage gentrification. Not sure if it's always working but they are a very aware and forward thinking city. There is NOTHING like going through the tunnel from South to North. Being on a highway in a pretty rural area end then out you pop into the city, over the bridge with all the rivers and the buildings. Regardless... I'm ready for this project that brings me so much joy during the busiest time of the year! Yup. This is it for me. I do this project and a travel journal every year and they both give me so much joy -- preparing them, working on them, then spending time with them when finished. I can see how it's not everyone's thing but I'll be done with the craziness mid-month (sooner, really) so I can really dig in. I love the product and playing with paper and scissors. I don't get enough of that in my life.

We like to spend a few days in the US at this time of the year, so it was an obvious choice. So glad we did it - *loved* Fallingwater, had fun in the Warhol and the Mattress Factory and just enjoyed pottering about the city too. (all on my elegantsufficiency blog if you're interested ;-) ) Scrapbook Super Station was amazing - not everything in my style, but wow....
