So sorry, joblackford. A good reminder that the holidays come with love and happiness and sadness and pain too.

Yes, I really enjoyed the movie too. Was I the only one that didn't see what was going to happen? I was primed for there to be a twist and did see part of it right from nearly the beginning, but I didn't make the complete connection. I kind of wished I hadn't even known that there was going to be a twist, which is why I'm marking this as a spoiler. I had not seen previews and I did not make the connection AT ALL. I thought he was going to be a monk.

joblackford, I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose someone. And it is so sad it happened around the holidays. Love to you and all who are hurting.

Thanks for all the love and hugs. We're back in the family home, going to make a Thanksgiving feast today to keep busy. We were lucky to get on a flight the same day. We may end up having a family Christmas in Hawaii, nobody knows yet but we're thinking it would be good for everyone. But anyway, we're all together.
Extra hugs all around these holidays because I know many of us are thinking about someone we have lost.

I haven’t been doing much on my DD yet but this week I sat down and printed some in a creative bubble cards I’d purchased, and I stumbled on the wreath clip art Ali has used in the kit so I bought that as I do love a wreath. Did anyone else love Traci Reeds digital release? I bought the TN cards to punch holes in and stick in my 6x8 album. I don’t think I share my cover here

joblackford So sorry for your loss. Sending love to you and the family. It is difficult losing someone at this time of the year (and the cold weather claims so many). I'm glad to read you're taking care of each other and finding a way to celebrate togetherness and thankfulness back home. *hugs* Ren Verry pretty! I love the white and red contrast. The overall design reminds me of a snowball fight in a forest!

I'm feeling totally unprepared for DD as I haven't done all the prepping I normally do - too many other things getting in the way! Will just have to wing it as best I can.

We live South of Pittsburgh (about 1.5 hours) and go there all the time. blemon we loved Pittsburgh! British Airways has begun a direct flight from LHR so it's incredibly easy. We like to spend a few days in the US at this time of the year, so it was an obvious choice. So glad we did it - *loved* Fallingwater, had fun in the Warhol and the Mattress Factory and just enjoyed pottering about the city too. (all on my elegantsufficiency blog if you're interested ;-) ) Scrapbook Super Station was amazing - not everything in my style, but wow.... I adore Fallingwater. What a treasure. We live about an hour from there. All that you did was so great. I will have to look into these direct flights!! But out!

So sorry for your loss, joblackford and for your chaotic week. I hope you can return to Hawaii for Christmas this year so you can fit in the relaxation you were hoping for. A quick invitation to pop over to the Challenges Board and drop a challenge into the December Challenge Thread. Hopefully we can all motivate each other to be creative and have some fun during this hectic season. Also, sleepingbooty's awesome December Photo Challenge will be live any time now: a list of 31 photo prompts so we can capture all the aspects of the holiday season. There is also a challenge to complete your DD and/or JYC projects, but feel free to drop in some additional challenges in that thread.

I thought he was going to be a monk. I completely figured it out about 10 minutes before the reveal... when she was yelling at him on the bench, I was kinda proud of myself actually. I whispered to my husband my theory and he said no way but I was totally right. Idk if that means I watch too many movies...
My daughter (14) didn’t pick up on what happened even after the reveal, I had to explain 😂 I didn’t like the movie as much as I was expecting to. I didn’t think the couple had good chemistry and their interactions seemed a little forced. There were some cute parts though and I don’t regret seeing it, but it won’t be a movie I rewatch in future years.

I've been using my 2019 prepped pages in my 2014 DD albums today. The horror! 😉
That's when I realized I tend to enjoy the process more when the documenting is over. Plus I print in batches from the photo lab and my flat is too small to hold all my supplies. So, I'm 75% sure I'm not joining you in making the album this month after all. But I'll be cheering all of you on from the sideline!

I've just watched Amy Gretchen's 2018 album walk through. Day 19 she's created an awesome pull tab, and the technique for that is detailed in the Product Play 3 class. I'm tempted to sign up for the class just so I can see how she put it together.

She did the waterfall pull tab last year and I added one to my album. This is pretty different. She pulls the tab and it makes her journalling appear over the top of the photo. My exhausted brain doesn't even know what to search to try to find an alternative technique video for it 😫

Happy December peas! For those of us documenting as we go are you ready?
I finished putting together my kit last night. I'm using a homemade kit mostly made from leftover bits from previous Chrismtas purchases and a couple of things I bought on sale after last year. I found an older AE WITL kit on facebook marketplace recently with a grey and white diagonal striped album which I'm using. I bought a couple of new things this year to add to my kit which I'm not so patiently waiting for. I'm excited to get started!

Happy 1st of December, my fellow Yuletide documenters! IT IS HERE. THE FREAKIN' MONTH OF MAGIC AND CHAOS AND HAPPINESS AND EXHAUSTION IS HERE! (yep, literally typing this out at 3AM, ladies) Yah, I can't believe it either. Things have flown by since the 2nd of August when this thread was started... Four months, poof, gone. But oh well, won't you look at that... It's time for mulled wine, sparkly ornaments, wrapping gifts, cheesy Hallmark flicks, singing loud for all to hear, last-minute family drama, crazy weather and whatnot. Let's embrace it all and hope for the best! Kicking the scrappy festivities off with some shameless self-promotion: my 31-Day Photo Challenge for December is up on the Challenges board. Do check it out. I've done my best to have as little overlap as possible with the daily prompts I'll be posting in here so if you want some extra inspiration or like a challenge, don't be shy and please do join the madness. The Challenges board is such a lovely, cosy nook on 2PR. It's the perfect place to kick your documenting derrière into action and get scrappy stuff done. If you want to print these photo prompts out, there's a PDF file to grab from Dropbox (no account needed).

And here we go... Prompt n°1: Easy like Sunday Morning
This year, December kicks off on a Sunday when most of us are home from work. How are you sliding into the festive month? Is it a regular Sunday? Are you making a special effort for breakfast/brunch by having something Christmassy on the table? Are you opening the first door on your Advent calendar? Let's focus on capturing the start of the month and enjoy that most of us will get to savour the first December vibes on a day off work. Photo ideas: the breakfast table, a photo from church/temple if you're attending, a selfie from bed à la Ali Edwards if you're sleeping in, taking the fam' out for something Christmassy to celebrate the first day of December (Starbucks holiday drink, a walk in the city, etc.), meal prep for the week, filling in the Sunday crossword puzzle. Song of the day:

How are you sliding into the festive month? It's only Saturday night here in Canada, so it's still November - I'll be heading to bed soon. I like my start to December - lots of fun things planned. First, we will wake up to our elf having brought us each an advent calendar - mine is chocolate, my teenage son gets a chocolate one AND a Lego City one, and my husband gets the Lego Harry Potter one. I'm excited to see the Harry Potter one the most! Then we are going to brunch at my Sister-in-Law's house for my Mother-in-Law's birthday. I'll have some fun family photos for Dec. 1st. Tomorrow I'll also be watercolouring a Christmas Tree for the title page of my December Daily. I have done zero prep so I will also be sorting through my Christmas stash and deciding what papers to use - I'm excited to use up my stash instead of buying all new stuff this year. I have some vintage looking Daisy D's that I just love and may just have to dig into!

I'm using a couple of old BG sheets from Eskimo Kisses this year and it makes me so happy seeing it in my kit, and I expect I'll be even happier when they're in my album.

I’ve also done zero prep—other than shopping! Our elf usually shows up on December 1st so that’ll probably entry number 1. I’m hoping to have some time tomorrow (Dec 1 in my world) to maybe plan for a few more days... Or, worst case, my first DD is a retrospective one!!

Yesterday I finished filming the walkthrough of my supplies for this year's album. Now that massive 45 minute video is in the process of uploading.
I've started on my cover page and will be working on the intro page once my kids are having their nap. I'm probably going to work on my albumin batches throughout the month. We'll see how that goes 😊
Happy Christmas countdown everyone!
