WTF!?!?! Can someone explain this? Is there special Mormon laundry detergent? ? WTF indeed! Did anyone else google Alma 37:35? I think they may have misquoted it here. I could see no reference to washing your socks at all.

Can't believe I forgot it was an 8 cow wife! I'm not sure what the laundry reference is, I'll look it up later. I just googled some images.

I could see no reference to washing your socks at all. I think the original said "you are what you watch", and the kids head was inside a TV, not a washing machine. I know there is a site that makes parodies of these Mormon Ads. My aunt used to be the person that chose the people to be in these ads, and in the Mormon church's magazine articles, so I have several family members scattered amongst the first of these, decades ago, lol. Some of them are cringeworthy .

Besides being produced by an LDS company, it is not strictly an LDS film. I don't think the original writer of the story was LDS.

Loved it the first time, even more the second! Thanks for rerun. I was raised Catholic in NY, then spent 10 years in Utah County right after dh and I married, so I'm enjoying this thread immensely!

I think I'm enjoying this thread so much because I'm a cradle Catholic originally from the Chicago area and I am now on my 16th year of living in Utah! Still a Catholic, but I have a lot of Mormon friends and know a lot about the LDS church

But I do remember watching it - and it has to have been at least 30 years ago!

This thread is too wonderful for words. If only I could post a picture of the electric sacred heart statue that scared the hell out of me when I was a child. The heart pulsated and glowed when it was switched on. The stuff of nightmares. We bought our friends a housewarming gift of a sacred heart statue with the flashing heart and flashing sign saying "bless this home". Their dog was terrified of it and would growl then run when it was switched on!
