I’m in FL bringing Dd to college. We came in this morning on the auto train and my plan was to fly home Monday. (I’ll update auto train thread) I was going to stay at the school til Sunday and then spend overnight with friends in Orlando. My plans had to quickly change because of the hurricane and I’m leaving tomorrow morning. On the hurricane thread @bergdorfblonde and I realized she’s only 10 minutes from DD’s school! She sent me her number just in case I might have time to get together. I didn’t think I would, but Dd and I parted ways kind of early so I thought I’d see if my pea friend wanted to grab a cup of coffee. She invited me to her home. I got to meet her dh and Dd, both very gracious especially since none of us knew I was coming til 5 minutes beforehand! And I charmed her cat. LOL and bergdorfblonde charmed me! She is so delightful. I really enjoyed our time together. We laughed a lot and had some good quality heart to heart conversation too. I was disappointed to not be able to spend more time with Dd and not get to see my Orlando friends, but it totally made my day to be able to spend it with my new old friend.  |

ETA: Fudge (my kitty) was crying at the door when you left!! I think you made a lifelong friend!

Lucky you - many of us spend time on the board and will probably never meet up in real life and I think it is great when any peas can get together even for the shortness time!

Sooo my flight was canceled. I’m not quite sure why. One of only two canceled out of Tampa, and everything looks good in AC too so I’m not sure what the issue is.
That means I’m here til wed am! I get to spend more time with Dd and I only miss Logan’s first day of school, which is a half day.
@bergdorfblonde if you have time maybe I can take you to dinner before I go! Also if you could direct me to the nearest auto parts store so I can take care of that issue for DD while I’m still here. I’ll text you a bit later. 😊
What I didn’t share last night was that 5 minutes after I left her, I got pulled over! I assumed it was speeding and he said I had lights out under dd’s rear license plate.
“That’s a thing? I’m sorry I never heard of this. I’m from NJ, maybe we don’t have that there.”
“It’s a thing. Everywhere. Have you had any alcohol?” Never. “Drugs?”
He runs my license and comes back.
“You’re right, you were speeding. But you don’t have any points and I’m not going to be the one to mess that up for you.”
Very very nice!
“Get the lights replaced ASAP or you will get stopped again. We need to be able to see the plate. You can go to any auto parts store, it will only cost around a dollar.”
In FL 14 hours and already causing trouble 😂
