I got a quote to have my windows washed. $150. They’re still dirty. I just spent $200 to have windows washed and screens cleaned - omg they were so dirty it was the best money spent - makes the house seems sparkling clean (well it’s a lot better at least 😆) - I’m adding windows cleaned to my list of things to do every fall...

British peas, is this a 'thing' regarding windows?? I gotta know.. What do you mean a " thing" Do you mean that most clean their windows on a regular basis? I think they do, well most people I think do. Not everyone has someone else to do them, some do them themselves. I have mine washed outside every six weeks. I do the inside myself or DH does them if I ask him nicely I can't stand dirty windows!

I don't think I have washed my windows (outside, I do them on the inside) in six years.. (Except my slider that goes out to the backyard and my front door screen with glass. Those get done all the time. My other windows.. eh?? Maybe because they are falling apart and I can't stand them anyways.. LOL.. (they are going to be replaced SOON!!! whoot whoot so maybe they will get washed now!)

almost none. i do have a couple change jars, but that's about it. so you internet thugs can come get me, but you're only going to get like $30 and you'll have to go a coinstar afterwards. Same. We would be such a disappointment to robbers. No cash and mostly old ass electronics such as an original iPad mini and an iPhone 5c, blue, with a cracked screen.

I live right on a busy road so my front door and windows get really dirty really quickly. Covered in all sorts of grime. There's a man who comes round with a brush on a long pole to clean them. I used to have it done once a month, but stopped a while ago because it seemed expensive...and clearly it was, compared to everyone else! I don't know if it's a British thing, maybe just a 'living in a town'thing?

I clean the insides once a year, more often by the latches where they get fingerprints or where the kitties have pressed their noses against the glass. Most people I know might get theirs cleaned maybe once a year. Many go several years before cleaning. And it costs hundreds.

I'm lucky if a have a few singles in my wallet. This is usually me. DH usually has some but nowhere near a thousand. My DD usually has more cash in her piggy bank than I have available. At this very moment I have a few hundred left from the garage sales we held this summer but I need to give all of it to BFF who paid for my ticket to CookieCon next year! In another day or so I’ll be back to normal again with no cash, LOL.

I refuse to answer the question on the basis of possible incrimination - but lets just say the gov't can't tax what they don't know about But I'm really jealous of the window thing! I wish we had people that came by to wash windows here. I do them every spring and every time I complain that I have too damn many windows - and that's just the first floor (I think I count 19..)

I'm lucky to have $10 in the house. Once I had about $100 that I saved up in change for spending money for our trip last year. Otherwise, no we don't keep cash around. My mom saved up over $700 in change to buy herself a Sleep Number bed.. She finally took it in to get bills for it.. lol Get this! DH just scored a Sleep Number 7000 bed with like a 4” pillowtop, a brand new mattress pad still in the sealed plastic bag and two Select Comfort memory foam pillows in zippered cases from an estate sale for ... wait for it ... THIRTY DOLLARS! Works perfect, no bugs, totally clean, and it didn’t even smell. The thing looked like new and it even came with the frame and bases for that price. We could have paid for it with money from our change jar and still would have had most of the change left over!

We have a decent amount. I rarely spend cash so I usually have 4-500 in my wallet too - just in case.

How funny 😀 Iin my immediate area there are at least 2 small businesses that come round regularly to wash house windows. I get mine done alternate months. It does make a difference and it prompts me to do the insides too 😉

My husband washes the windows (outside) a few times every year. We have a few that are just too high to get to on a regular basis. Now my sliding glass door gets washed every week or so. Inside and out. I see out of that one a lot. The others all have blinds partially covering them, so maybe what I don't see doesn't bother me.
And yes, some cash is stashed.

No - the only cash in my house is the cash in my purse, which isn't much, since I use my debit card for most transactions.

I barely ever carry cash and certainly don't keep any at home. I have a friend who always has an envelope with quite a bit of money in it.
I knew someone long ago who often had a lot of cash in the home because they sold diamond jewelry, paid for in cash. And I guess they didn't claim it because that cash went right into a box that was kept under the basement stairs.

Huge piggy bank with lots of change, and rolls of change that I keep stashed for small emergencies. I usually don’t carry cash on my person.

If you follow any kind of preparedness plan you should keep some cash on hand. What if the ATM is down, banks go under, stores are not taking credit cards, etc................ I have a neighbor who has a plan for that. She is stocked up on whisky, cigarettes, and toilet paper. She plans to barter.

We have probably 20 pounds of loose change. Or more. So we could go to the coinstar and still feel good about it after the fee. But not stacks of bills. I do keep varying amounts of cash in my car. I don't like to carry cash because I spend it on fast food. I wont use a card for fast food, so this keep my eating a little more healthy. But a large amount for emergencies? No.
I also don't wash the exteriors of my windows because I can't get the hard water residue off and it frustrates me. And I also can't reach the tops of any of the windows without a very tall ladder.

I usually keep a couple hundred in my purse for various small purchases, which at times can last for a long while, while other times it goes quickly. Then I will keep several hundred at home because I don't like going to the ATM that often, so when the stash gets low, I replenish. Mine is basically kept for an emergency, but I use it for other stuff and replenish, but probably should do it that way if it is truly for emergency, because what happens if I'm down to my last $20 and an emergency happens. I wouldn't have an emergency fund! lol

I keep a few hundred right next to my Glock. Here's what I did a few weeks ago. First shot of the visit that day, nearly dead center.
Sometimes, in addition to my Glock, I have the neighbor's dog with me for long weekends, and even for a week at a time. She's incredibly protective of me. (she views my house and yard as an extension of hers, and she considers me part of her pack.
(In all seriousness, I bank with USAA so I don't have a local bank. I typically take out a few hundred dollars at a time and keep it on hand so I'm not stopping very often at the ATM. USAA refunds any ATM fees, but I just don't want to pull out small amounts as needed, causing USAA to unnecessarily spend money on refunding my trips to the ATM. Also, anyone who breaks into my house can take whatever they want while I'm on the phone with 911 and until deputies arrive. But if you bust down my bedroom door to get to me, you will be met with a full magazine from my Glock. And I'm a pretty good shot. You will not walk out of my bedroom. You will go out horizontally on a stretcher.

I usually have a couple of 1's and 5's for tips in my wallet, and we keep about $100 in the armour, in our bedroom. It's usually used for sales at our local dispensary . We keep around $1000 in a fire safe for an emergency.
