Rick Wilson’s response to trump knowing what the Founders has in mind.
”You know what the Founders had in mind? Men of probity, diligence, intelligence, dignity, and character serving in the office you've now besmirch.
You're an asterisk, joke, a trifling pretender who wouldn't understand patriotism if it bit you on your enormous ass.”
Can’t argue with that.

Betsy DeVos does it again! BY GLENN C. ALTSCHULER AND DAVID WIPPMAN, OPINION CONTRIBUTORS — 11/25/19 10:00 AM EST 169THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY CONTRIBUTORS ARE THEIR OWN AND NOT THE VIEW OF THE HILL** From the day she took office as Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos has tried to make it more difficult for students to free themselves from loan obligations incurred on the basis of false promises by college recruiters about educational services, the likelihood of earning credits transferrable to other institutions, post-graduate employment, and salary prospects. With the publication of a new Department of Education regulation, which promises to save taxpayers more than $11 billion, DeVos is giving these young men and women the back of her hand. ** The DOE now requires students to apply individually for relief and permits institutions to use pre-dispute arbitration agreements and class action waivers as a condition of enrollment, provided the schools make “plain language-disclosures” about these processes. Such agreements, of course, keep claims out of the courts, where other students and the public at large might learn about them. Class action waivers prevent students, many of whom lack the resources to pursue legal remedies on their own, from sharing the costs and burdens of litigation. Secretary DeVos’ embrace of a simplistic version of caveat emptor ignores the fact that predatory schools target unsophisticated and vulnerable populations who lack financial resources and desperately seek an education that will prepare them for a meaningful career. Defrauded student debtors are victims. They — and not the victimizers — deserve protection from the Department of Education.** thehill.com/opinion/education/471875-betsy-devos-is-giving-defrauded-student-debtors-the-back-of-her-hand

Progressives & Moderates see below!!!EJ Dionne is writing a new book. The title Code Red: How Progressives and Moderates can Unite to Save Our Country. “I'll be convening a Twitter book club chat in January for my upcoming book, “Code Red: How Progressives and Moderates Can Unite to Save Our Country.” If you’d like to participate & have a chance to receive a free copy, just fill out this form. Many thanks!” “Friends, I’d greatly appreciate retweets of this invitation. I’m hoping to bring together progressives and moderates to exchange views on how to strengthen our democracy, promote social justice & civil rights, and turn back the threat of Trumpism. Thanks for anything you can do!” Book club formThis is the form he would like completed and then I guess who will choose some folks for this book club. I read his tweet and thought if only he knew about this place. 😀 The form has a couple of question and this is one.. ”In our current political climate, do you think progressives and moderates communicate effectively with each other? (And if not - and if you're so inclined - please feel free to share your thoughts on how they might communicate better.) *” Good question and the answer for me is no and I don’t know.

”Do not believe any article or story you read or see that uses “anonymous sources” having to do with trade or any other subject. Only accept information if it has an actual living name on it. The Fake News Media makes up many “sources say” stories. Do not believe them!”
The problem is 99.9% of information coming from the actual living name of trump are lies.

Wouldn't that be great, if they started asking him those very same questions?? Reporter: So, WHO said? Can I get their name, for the record? Reporter: Where are these 'many people' anyway? We'd like to talk to them, too... LOL!! Nancy Pelosi is right, and I LOVE that she said it to reporters so we could all hear it. "Donald Trump projects- if he says "Nancy Pelosi is nervous" it's because HE'S nervous..." we all know it, and it's wonderful to know that THEY all see it, too.

Evan McMullin
“The next ten months will determine whether America has a president or a king. The Supreme Court will decide if the president is above the law. Congress will decide if it will be a coequal branch of government. And we will vote in elections that may or may not be free and fair.”
That about sums it up.

Senior admin official acknowledges the letter doesn't specifically state the WH won't participate. But that's what the letter means, according to a senior administration official. "The letter communicates that we will not participate in this process," the official said.

You know, I am so sick of this administration doing whatever they feel like doing and not following any normal guidelines. Especially since Mueller and Co. is following the guidelines on not indicting a sitting president. I say they quit following the guidelines and we have a free for all and get Trump out and in jail where he belongs.

Yep, I guess he is utterly unable to defend himself under oath. Oh but he will be under oath IF he shows for the Senate trial and with a REAL judge! He will stonewall there too. I predict that he won’t show up for any of the impeachment process. Remember how eager he has been numerous times to be questioned/testify for now a number of issues? (Mueller, House hearings) Because he was/is innocent, he swears. Except that when it comes down to actually testifying/answering questions on the record, he does a 180, refuses, and comes up with a litany of excuses as to why he won’t participate in the investigation, hearing, and impeachment processes. Who knew that all Bill Clinton had to do was refuse to participate in the Lewinsky investigation and then he wouldn’t have perjured himself and there would have been no impeachment? And all the GOP would have supported that avoidance of participation in the process, just as they are now? Because they wouldn’t be power-grubbing pond-scum hypocrites, would they?

Opinion piece worth reading............. We have now reached a code red moment in American democracy BY KIMBERLY WEHLE, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR — 12/06/19 02:00 PM EST 807THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY CONTRIBUTORS ARE THEIR OWN AND NOT THE VIEW OF THE HILLUnfortunately, the House Judiciary Committee hearing on impeachment this week has been perceived by many as a showdown between partisan law professors rather than an objective analysis. On the “Democratic side” were Noah Feldman of Harvard, Pamela Karlan of Stanford, and Michael Gerhardt of the University of North Carolina. On the “Republican side” was Jonathan Turley of George Washington University, who is a legal analyst with me at CBS News. Feldman, Karlan, and Gerhardt argued that the conduct of President Trump is unequivocally impeachable, while Turley urged caution and a fuller factual record to avoid a rush to judgment. This is the wrong way to frame the hearing. The Constitution is not a partisan document. It does not even mention political parties, let alone endorse them. Every member of Congress, as well as the president, the federal judiciary, and numerous officials and civil servants in the executive branch, take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. That oath is not a pledge of fidelity to the incumbent president. It instead promises fidelity to the founding document designed to protect regular people against a bullying and overly powerful government comprised of officials who only care about shoring up their own power. This basic foundational concept goes back to the Code of Hammurabi, which declared that the “first duty of government is to protect the powerless from the powerful.” If the office of the president of the United States rises above the law, with no more accountability to Congress or to the courts, then regular people will lose their individual rights and liberties. This was the message of the constitutional scholars who testified that the behavior of Trump cannot go unchecked. Just imagine a American president with unlimited power to punish political rivals and employ the massive might of the military and the criminal justice system to secure incumbent power. Over the past couple of weeks, protests in Iran over high gasoline prices prompted that totalitarian government to shut down the internet, leaving 80 million people untethered to the rest of the world. Online videos show security forces subsequently opening machine gunfire on crowds, reportedly killing at least 200 people, including peaceful protesters and civilians. But this could never happen in America. Right? We cannot be so sanguine. In their sobering book, “How Democracies Die,” political scientists Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt put together a compelling historical narrative of how numerous functioning democracies around the world have since morphed into authoritarian regimes, not by violent coups but by “elected governments” themselves. Several countries such as Venezuela, Georgia, Hungary, and Turkey witnessed their democratic institutions backslide at the ballot box while maintaining the “veneer of democracy.” The authors identify four patterns. An elected demagogue packs the courts and exerts stringent control over the legislature and the administrative bureaucracy, attacks his opponents, ignores or destroys rules and norms governing his conduct in office, and encourages violence from his devout loyalists. ** More at link: thehill.com/opinion/white-house/473392-we-have-now-reached-a-code-red-moment-in-american-democracy

This is what is happening to our country, although maybe it has been so bad, but hidden for sight! ** Three people were fired and dozens more have been suspended after a photo surfaced of West Virginia correction officer trainees apparently performing a Nazi salute. The image shows more than two dozen trainees with their arms raised, with the figures' faces blurred. The image was released Thursday by the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety, according to The Associated Press. **more at link: thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/473475-3-fired-from-west-virginia-agency-after-apparent-nazi-salute-photoHow well will they serve the public, particularly those incarcerated? Well, what do you know?
Yes, it's 1500 jobs vs. the 25,000 that Amazon originally dangled (w/o any backup on that number that I've seen). But it's 1500 jobs w/o $2.5 Billion in tax breaks and $.5 Billion in outright capital 'grants'.
