I think every gun that is owned should require an insurance policy. Or an umbrella type policy to cover multiple guns. You have to pass the background check to purchase, and you have to have proof of insurance - just like owning a car. Will that stop all gun violence? No. It might help with restitution to victims, and it sure as hell might make it hard for some people to own a gun that shouldn't.
I am saying this as an owner of several firearms, not including my husbands or my kids (although I did purchase my kids' firearms as gifts for them).

I found a rug on Temu that I really like. I can’t decide if it’s a good idea or not. so, WWTPD? Read the description carefully. Look at the measurements. Make sure they are the measurements for what you are ordering. Look at ALL the pictures. Do a couple look really nice and then a not so nice one? That 'not so nice' is the one you will be getting. With wreaths, rugs, decor, etc - there is always the really nice picture, but then when you dig deeper (or look at reviews that have actual photo's posted) you will find the item you are ordering is a much lower quality. MUCH. But I do order from Temu. I just really look over the listing and know that what I am getting is a lower quality item. Don't use the app, which is known spyware. Just as Amazon, Instagram, Facebook, etc. is. My biggest observation about purchasing from Temu is the very slow shipping. Definitely not someplace to buy from if you are looking for instant gratification or need an item quickly. For example, the price savings on a Jinhao FP on Temu is only $2, but I can have it delivered free in two days as an Amazon prime member. Paying that $2 more to,get it quicker is worth it to me. Shipping is slow for me too... around 7 - 10 days. But my Amazon shipping (With Prime) is at least 5 to 7 days. Never two day. It used to be two day but not anymore. Some say it is due to where I live and the distance from Amazon centers, which is probably true, but there are Amazon centers within 2 hours of me in 3 directions. I can order from WalMart or Target and get 2 day shipping always and often next day. So Amazon isn't my go to site anymore.

I'm interested in this!
I am wanting a french door fridge. My daughter has a Frigidaire and loves it. I really want white, and that is so hard to find. I hate stainless. Nothing in my kitchen is stainless.

I would say yes. I telehealth things like that. I figure my chances of picking something else up (illness) is greater by going in. Pink Eye is pretty easily diagnosed, especially since you have been exposed. I keep trying to talk my Vet into treating me for stuff like this. She says no. LOL When I need meds for our cattle - she just leaves it on her steps for me to go grab.

DH got really frustrated with me because I got no game when it comes to negotiating. My husband negotiates almost everywhere. I run and hide while he’s getting 10% off at Home Depot. My husband is the negotiator! Me - not so much. My kids - yes. They learned from the best. Oldest DD has bought 2 homes, and it quite savvy in those negotiations. My middle child bought her first new car on her own after college. The salesman told her dad he had never been impressed as much by someone that age. So polite, but firm in the deal. My son has the motto "if it's not free - it's not me" ... he got so many free shirts at conferences, etc. in High School and college. LOL He has negotiated higher salaries at his job too.

Things like makeup are not returnable for health reasons.
I didn't want to return it - they sent me hair dye instead of mascara. It was hard to get to a place to get a replacement. I think I have it solved now though!

Never mind.. as soon as I posted this, I went back and tried a different spot and was able to get a refund.
Geesh... what a pain in the butt!
I have to reorder, but at least my account will be credited.

I ordered a small item from Amazon. I ordered mascara, got a box of hair dye. I cannot get to a screen that allows me to ask for the mascara to be sent. I can get to where it says "wrong item" sent, but when I do that it brings me back to the original screen that says no returns are allowed. Ugh.
Is there anyway to get a hold of customer service anymore?
I had this problem once before on a small item and just gave up. I am not going to do that anymore.
Any suggestions?

Texas Hold 'Em is so fun. I have always loved Beyonce. My girls were pre-teens and loved to skate to Destiny's Child. I'd back out all the trucks from the shop and we'd sweep the floor good and the skates came out during the long winters when there wasn't anything fit to do outside! Every time I hear those songs it gives me happy memories!
Beyonce as performer is phenomenal. I am just not crazy about her versions of Joleen and BlackBird. I know I will get a lot of pushback on this - but her voice just isn't what is needed for those songs. Or maybe the originals are so engrained in my senses, that it just hits wrong because of that. I like Miley's version of Joleen, but Dolly's is always going to be the pinnacle. The meaning behind BlackBird and her performance will outweigh the lacking vocal on it, I am sure.

Shark Rocket. Really gets the dust up from the floors. Very powerful and useful on steps, etc.
Mine is corded. I like cordless, but the corded ones just are so much more powerful and always ready to go.

I’m sure there is more backstory, but it seems that she should get the house and then can just sell the house and land for a profit. Then buy another lot. That was my first thought. But if it is a very desirable piece of land, and you don't want it developed - this is a way around that for developers. Ooops - we built on the wrong land, but we will buy it from you. Then they get their foot into an area that you want to keep them out. Even if the developer is not buying it back - it could be a shill bidder or someone who would just resell it to a developer. I would make them tear down and restore the land. Although it is highly unlikely that something could ever 'accidentally' be built on our land, we have people really try to strong arm us into selling pieces they want to build on. We will never sell. We have pasture lands near the river that have never seen a plow. People want to buy it to build their house on. Nope. No way. Don't want them anywhere in our land.

I hate this new trend! I know they are doing it to drive up the interaction on their posts.
I also just go to their account, find the link for their LTK or Amazon store front to see the product.
But it frustrates me so much that I will not buy off that link. I will close out and go search it on Amazon and buy it without using their link - so they do not get any money from me. Petty Betty here. Most of the time, I don't mind using their link/store front so they get the income from it. But when they start making me do stupid things like typing SHOP for them to autosend me the link, I'm out.

I loved my Kuerigs ... but damn. They just didn't last anymore. But I still love the single cup feature, but sometimes I want a pot... I switched to the Ninja Dual Brew. I can not recommend this thing enough! I LOVE IT!I mostly do the K-Cup brews. I even use KCups to brew some small pitchers, because I love the McDonald's KCups.. LOL I also make a lot of iced tea. The Tazo black tea KCups make awesome iced tea. I brew a single Tazo black tea Kcup at 12 ounces into the glass carafe and then brew it again (same KCUp) at 12 ounce or 10 ounce. I then pour this over ice in my plastic pitcher that I keep in the fridge. It is a really good iced tea. Being able to brew it into a glass carafe makes it so simple to make. I use it for hot water a lot. You can either brew just hot water, or switch it to 'boil' for a REALLY hot water. I watch my grandkids sometimes, and that hot water works great to thaw and heat a packet of breast milk - so handy. I use the hot water feature on a box of dehydrated hash browns (those suckers are GOOD). Just brew 12 ounces of hot water (I use the 'boil' setting) into the box and let rehydrate and pop in a frying pan or put in soups. You can brew KCups, single cups with your own grounds or full carafe with your own grounds (and anywhere in between). I have had it for over 6 months, so it hasn't passed the "how many years' test yet...but after having (and loving) Kuerigs - this brewer is such a better quality. It has a large water tank. It is a slim line one. It comes mounted to the side, but you can switch it to mounted in the back if you want. It's very easy to grab - it has better ergonomics than the Keurig ones. It has a built in hand grip that makes it so much easier to grab and fill, although I often fill it on the machine with filtered water. It has a frother on the other side, but I never use that feature. It has a fairly slim profile on your countertop. The glass carafe is nice. I got mine on a good sale, and they have those several times a year. CFP301 Ninja Dual BrewHere is a very similar machine, but it came out after mine. Does about the same, has less custom brew sizes, but the price is much less. If I was buying today, I'd probably get this one. Model:CFP101 Ninja Dual BrewBoth machines have the 'thermal extraction' brew that the Keurig KSupreme styles have - it makes a MUCH better tasting KCup brew. They brew fast.

I remember my DH and I having a discussion about our DD watching I carly and Sam and Cat and all of those types of shows...he detested them and thought they were way too sexualized and just horrible for kids, hated how mouthy the kids talked...I wasn't as convinced they were as terrible as he thought but because he felt so strongly we didn't allow our DD to watch them and she was so upset at the time. She is 20 now and I can't wait for her to see this series. My kids were just a little too old to really get into those shows, but at the time I detested them. I focused mostly on how mouthy the kids were and how the parents or older adult authority people were made to look so dumb. I never clued in on the sexuality, and I never watched them much. I just hated the mouthyness of the kids. I raised my kids to speak up and to 'fend for themselves' a bit and that it was OK to question authority, but also to respect it. It wasn't OK to be a smartass, but it was ok to bring up things if it bothered them, and not to be afraid to do it. I haven't watched the show yet, but I have been reading and seeing a bit about it. Jeeezee... what goes on right under our noses! I didn't forbid much TV, but those shows were just awful. I was the mean mom who didn't allow much time on video games either. We had horses, Gators, and my kids could drive down to the river/creek to fish ... unsupervised.

Just made a fast trip out to Ft. Pierre SD last week to buy feeder calves. Drove to Ft. Pierre and back in a day...long day, whew! Started the day at 3:30 am - semi brought the calves the following morning at 1:30 am! Did it all in under 24 hours. I was pooped for 2 days afterwards.
That view driving west out of Chamberlain on I-90 is something I always anticipate! It was even beautiful this time of year! Dropping down out of Chamberlain, going across the Missouri on the bridge. It just gets me every time! So get ready for that view! It's a stunner!

There is footage from a ring camera outside where she can be heard crying. I saw that. Did no one hear? Or was crying so normal, that it didn't alarm anyone?

Poor Jailyn. What happened to her is so disturbing. (if that’s not who you mean by ‘Baby J’ my apologies.) Totally who I meant - I can’t even imagine what that baby went though for 11 days! I am just horrified by this. That poor baby. I saw the sentencing and then the coroner testifying on behalf of the baby. That was all I could watch. I can't bear the thoughts of what that poor child went through. It saddens me that neighbors didn't hear her cry and try to do something.

I wouldn't drive a Tesla if it and the electricity were given to me for free. They are actually a blast! I drove a Model 3 and it will set you back in the seat! And I sure as heck would not turn a Roadster down! But electric cars are most definitely NOT a thing around here. I think there might be a super charger about 25 miles from me, but nothing closer. I could easily install a charger in my garage or shop, if I needed to. DH likes the Model 3 and I will not ever be surprised if one shows up in my garage some day. Just for local tooling around. We only have pickups at this point, and mine is an Ecoboost, so somewhat decent milage. But all my short trips to town and back would be nice to have something electric. Probably seasonal though. LOL The truck is really ugly. It looks like a DeLorian that was built in shop class, by a freshman... lol

We’ve tried all sorts of frozen veggies and I haven’t cared for almost any of them. I pretty much only freeze sweet corn now. A few bell peppers, but I much prefer them fresh. Sometimes I chop up some and freeze them on a cookie sheet and then crumble into a bag to freeze. But, like you said, the texture isn't great for me. Frozen home grown sweet corn seems to freeze the best though! I used to do SO much! We had corn almost every day! Now I don't freeze nearly that much. I didn't hardly do any last summer, and I missed it. I also like the Food Saver! I bought mine for Sous Vide, but I do like to seal a few things up that I am not going to get used. I did a few bags of sweet corn last year. It wasn't as efficient as using freezer bags, but it was sealed up nice! It's just a little slow (and expensive) when you do a couple hundred bags!

I’ve read that in a lot of,places, but have run into very few issues with our frost-free freezer. And it was for items not frozen as well (like in ziplock alone) and in there for a very long time, I think like 9 months - 1 year. And we’ve had tons of other food that long with zero issues. I think the newer freezers might be better, but I had an entire season of frozen garden produce ruined in one. In 6 months it was all tasting terrible. I had frozen SO much sweet corn. Probably close to 300 quarts. I was so frustrated! Bought a chest regular deep freeze (not frost free) and I can store things for a very long time! I have found beef that is 2 or 3 years old buried in there and is fresh and good! I try to rotate better than that though! LOL I have come up with a better system for me. I bought the more rigid, but collapsible, grocery totes that can fold down. They have handles. I fill those and stack them in my deep freeze. I keep them sorted by beef, pork, chicken, veggies, treats, etc. That way I can lift out a tote or several totes to get to what I need. Things don't slide and collapse on each other. It works so well, and when I need to dig deep - no mess!

If you are using your refrigerator freezer - it is most likely a 'frost free' freezer. That means frost doesn't build up an don't have to defrost it. It goes through a daily cycle of warming up to melt the frost and then refreezing. You might hear your fridge gurgle every once in a while - that is the melted frost leaving the freezer. But this is hard on frozen food too. That's what causes freezer burn. If you only freeze it for short term a month or two, no problems! But it is not good for long storage. So eat up what you freeze within a month or two at the most. A deep freeze could be frost free - you really want to avoid that. If you are keeping for long term storage, more than a month or two, get a regular deep freeze that is NOT frost free. You really have to double check to make sure

I much prefer the super thin cutting mats. I have some from Pampered Chef, and just some really inexpensive ones from WalMart. Once they start to get too many cut lines, I just toss them. But I love how easily they are stored in a drawer. They go in the dishwasher well. I can pick them up and bend them to add into bowls or pans of food I am prepping.
I have a couple nicer wood ones, and I keep those for serving bread, cheese or other foods like that.
I had a neat wood one that I ended up gluing wood balls to, to make a cut riser for on my kitchen counter. Works to serve cheese off of also.

I am loving my new HexClad. I have slowly transitioned over to them. You do need a little fat in them to make them more non-stick. I keep a spray bottle that has either olive oil (light) or avocado oil in it and give it a quick spray, if I do not have any other fat in the pan. I gently pre-heat the pan a bit, add the oil and it is great. Similar to working with a good stainless steel pan.

Then when you see a picture of it, it always looks perfect... or watching a stupid home interior type show or video.. everything is always just perfect. stupid I swear they pull the top quilt/comforter over to the sides you see, to make it look like it drapes that far down. DH & I sleep in a double bed. I hate big beds. But I actually have a king size quilt on my double bed, so that it hangs way down and I can fold it neatly over my double sets of pillows. I have an antique sleigh bed. I have a box spring, mattress, and a 4" topper -so it is HIGH! But the king spread will drape down far enough that it covers the bottom of the area where the box spring sets. I use a king size blanket too, so that it hangs down the sides long enough to accommodate two adults under it. I love it. I rescued that bed from someone's burn pile. GASP. I knew them and stopped to ask if they were going to burn it. Yep. I have them $100, which they took reluctantly. I used denatured alcohol to remove all the stickers their kids had on it and that also refinished the shellac finish. DH re-did the side rails, which were split pretty bad. Oh my god it is a beautiful bed! It was the second sleigh bed I rescued from becoming ashes. My daughter has the other one at her house as a guest bed.

Wow! Those heron are such large and imposing birds! I have one that I chase around in the pasture in the mornings. I check one side and the heron is usually close to the river, so squawks at me and moves up the creek. I then go out and swing back down the creek side to check there, and I swear it throws up its wings and says YOU AGAIN! and flies down towards the river. Amazing and prehistoric looking/sounding. You'd think it would be used to me by now. This has gone on for years every spring.

They have both aged pretty good. Money helps with that. LOL
Both are a bit 'fancy' for my tastes.
But I do find Rob Lowe so funny. Parks & Rec sold me on him.

I wish we had seen big ones in the water. Would have been cool. I was actually a little nervous with how close we were and how HUGE that gator was. Even my unflappable husband was a bit iffy! LOL That would be the Iowa in us. He can go give his favorite 2000 pound bull a nice back scratch - but that gator was a bit off putting!
