hockeyspaz62 Alternative email to get passwords reset and email issues sorted while she has an admin helper this week (and yes, it does seem like too many dots but it's correct) - alice.shimelle.com@gmail.com Thank you for this alternative email, joblackford ! I had already emailed her regarding my current email address, but I never heard back. I'm glad to hear she's got someone helping her with administrative issues! I think it’s only a few days or maybe a week during the busy days starting the class but it’s definitely something she needs. Hope you get help quickly

I received an email about JYC and they were able to get me back into my account. I have no planned journal, but am going to give it a go in making a small be this year. Very excited to do it, even though my life isn’t all that exciting, and to be honest, very stressful at the moment. Glad to hear you’re back in the class! Shimelle always reminds everyone that she started this project in the years where she struggled to feel the joy of Christmas so hopefully whatever you do it will be something that helps during this season of stress.

I really enjoyed the stamping class also - I own plenty of stamps but they were seriously under utilised. I definitely came away with some new techniques and new ideas and I've been stamping more on my layouts. And I finally have more ink than just black ( DH bought for me for my birthday) I've only done the first two stencils videos and since I've never even owned a stencil before - at least not since the 80s when stencilling furniture was a thing - that's all new to me. I haven’t gotten any new e-mails for her JYC in the past few years. I even asked about account t recovery because I did a few other classes, but I never got any help. hockeyspaz62 Alternative email to get passwords reset and email issues sorted while she has an admin helper this week (and yes, it does seem like too many dots but it's correct) - alice.shimelle.com@gmail.com

Oh, that's good to know! I haven't seen any emails or anything from Evernote. I have no idea what I have, I don't use it for scrappy inventory stuff, but thanks for giving me the heads-up that I should check.

It does. I think that's how I scored them in October, actually, but forgot. I reused two of my twofer designs and one of azcrafty's vellum challenges for Christmas cards this month...do I meet the challenge again? Or is it a one-time thing? ooh, that's a good question. Are all of the Cardtober challenges added to the list of challenges for the remaining months? Or do we disregard them after October ended? better ask grammadee

Did she ever show a walk through of her finished 2022 journal? There might be one in the next week or so, maybe… but as a rule she runs out of steam before she gets around to showing them off, especially in the last couple of years.

The kid and I finished Holiday Hotline and we both really liked it. DH & I did the Biltmore Christmas with Bethany Joy last night. We weren't super sure when it started out, but ended up being good! I called the ending, but I'm pretty good at calling HM endings. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) I don’t put much stock in Spotify Wrapped because I only listen to a couple of specific things on there, but I love using Goodreads to summarize my year. They usually post their stats too early - I read a lot in the last couple of weeks of the year! But I always include a screenshot of the books I’ve read at the end of my DD. If you happen to be looking for a different reading app, you can import all your info easily into StoryGraph. It gives you all sorts of cool info. I plan to use it in my DD since you can also filter it by month, not just year, for cool details. Like, for November I've read 7 books for a total of 2,632 pages. THe "moods" that I mostly read were "lighthearted, emotional, and funny". 86% were 300-499 pages. Anyway, just some fun info in case you didn't know about it. I just found it after GR got rid of a few important categories in their annual voting. That sounds fun! My moods are going to be all over the place.

Sounds like everyone is making progress! I make Christmas cards year round for donations but I’ve learned not to choose the card I’ll use for myself until late in the year - I have a bad habit of changing my mind at the last minute.
I got my labels printed today and made sure I had envelopes ready. I still need to do a final count on how many cards I need. I always get frustrated when some of the labels get wasted because I didn’t have the right number to print a full sheet. This year I added some extras for friends and family that I mail to during the year, but I have to be careful to set those aside or some people might get duplicate holiday cards!

Spotify Wrapped came out today so if you're a spotify listener it's a great thing to add to your DD as an 'end of the year' thing + it's an easy story! I'm genuinely surprised about my top artist this year so it'll be something I write a bit about in relation to how my year has been and why I thought someone else would've been in that position. 10 Hanukah cards finished - I used printable journalling cards for them so they went together pretty quickly. I have a Christmas printable also so will probably make a batch with those also. I wish I could remember where I got the PDFs - they were a link via email after one of the summits I think. The cards look great ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I haven't seen the printables but maybe someone else will recognize them.

joblackford - they are all very pretty and I bet you're able to use scraps and such! Thank you. Yes! and part of the reason they're all a little different is that I'm constantly mixing and matching the negative space pieces, trying not to waste any good sized pieces of cardstock.

It's coming along. I need to print my labels and check my final count but I think I have almost finished Christmas cards.
I'm starting to think about a December album project but that's digital, pretty easy. I have a year in review photobook to update a little more and photo calendars to finalize and print when my 5x7 photo paper arrives. I made a reminder to check that earlier next year. I had vague intentions of ordering from Persnickety but they charge $2 each for 5x7 prints! More than other similar sizes for some reason.
I feel like I've been crafting very slowly lately, but I do a little bit almost every day so it will get done. Hard to adjust to the lack of light after 3-4pm though - color matching can be pretty tricky.

I have a vague sense of maybe having missed out on some good deals over the weekend, but I can’t actually name a single thing I need. So many emails but nothing particularly tempting. On a non-crafty note, I went to order some sheets for my MIL last night and the 50% off Cyber Monday code expired as I started doing the checkout - stupid time zones. But I just decided to shop somewhere else where prices are more reasonable and I don’t need huge discounts to feel like I wasn’t ripped off.

I have supplies for hobbies I don't do anymore. I have lots of stuff to make mini albums/junk journals. I was really into making them during the pandemic, but my interest for them is gone. Once I'm done with xmas crafting I have some re-organizing to do in my craft room. I could see getting rid of the junk journaling supplies then. You could take advantage of the almost universal after-Christmas desire to declutter and reorganize ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Almost everyone is minimizing in January so there’s lot of encouragement at that time of year. Supplies for crafts you used to love are tough.

I have not signed or addressed any of my cards so I will work on that this week with hopes of getting them in the mail early next week. That can be the hardest part sometimes. There is time though ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I have been keeping a spreadsheet in google drive grouped by domestic and overseas addresses that I can pull it into avery.com to print labels. I used to handwrite addresses, but it didn't seem worth it once I realized how easy labels are. I do try and handwrite a short message inside the card though. I've learned to draft it out and copy the same thing into every card since I'm out of practice at handwriting and prone to mistakes.

I am making 60 cards this year. It has taken me MONTHS! My mock up was simple....but 60 of them is not lol It has embossing, stenciling in 3 colours, stamping and finally the sentiment was foiled. What was I thinking? Like I said - 1 wasn't bad to mock up...but they look AMAZING. I started in August. I will be finished them tomorrow. I cut the papers and embossed them at our 2 day Soul Weekend in August. I took them on my cruise in September to stencil on sea days...I didnt get near as many done as I though I would. I spend our last Soul Weekend (2 days of 10-12 hours) stenciling. I have spend a couple of our Tuesday craft nights working on them (2-3 hours each). Tomorrow, I will finish. I WILL FINISH. People better frame these. WOW! You are dedicated! I'm sure they will be treasured ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Best of luck getting them done.

I usually tie myself in knots trying to send a photo card to family and friends who appreciate that, and crafty cards to people like y’all who don’t care about my face. This year I had 30 finished cards that I liked that are all variations on the same design, and I’m happy to make another 30, so everyone is getting a crafty card. I’m going to do my best not to overthink who gets which variant, but overthinking is my superpower.
Last year I realized that a lot of people find the photo card concept very strange and self-involved. As a memory keeper I love it, I have a whole album of my friends’ families growing over the years, cut from photo cards they sent. But since we don’t have any pets or kids it’s just the two of us growing older and more pathetic (in the eyes of people who value big families, the people who send me photo cards) and we struggle to get fun selfies for the card.
If I do multiple crafty designs I can’t remember who got what and I don’t want to send someone the same card two years running but I don’t like to buy new supplies every year. This year I have a new die, I love it, I can vary it enough not to get bored. I have 20 more cards to finish this week and I have my address label files ready to print.

How is everyone doing with Christmas cards? It’s almost time to be mailing them!
How many are you sending out this year, and do you expect to receive many? I heard a statistic that most people love to get cards but the majority don’t send any. 🧐 🤔 I guess some people have lost sight of the reciprocal nature of the tradition.
Are you crafting all your cards? Buying? Ordering photo cards?

Do you follow seemownay on IG or Fbk? She used to be a Pea, I think, and shared a lot of TN and Cocoa Daisy stuff several years ago. She’s gone full fountain pen content now and does lots of talking about her pens and inks and what she writes in her notebooks. I’m basically incapable of using a fountain pen correctly - I think it somehow twists as I write so I can’t keep the proper angle on the nib - so I haven’t watched her videos lately. Probably for the best. She spends a lot of money on pens!

I started watching the Holiday Hotline movie halfway through and need to write to whoever writes dialogue for Americans speaking to British characters. If someone asks "shall we -? the answer is "yes, lets" or "that sounds wonderful" or "I'd love that!" It's never "we shall" unless you want the British person to think you're making fun of them. Sure is also a perfectly normal response. I got my tree up and my old Christmas albums out yesterday ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Getting Christmas cards finished and mailed this week.

I sent a box of holiday cards to BSTS last week and was happy to see they specifically acknowledged them as Christmas and Hanukkah cards. I’m hoping that some can be distributed this year but if I was not early enough at least they have a headstart for next year.
