I made this card the other day when I came across the "blessings" pocket card that had been hanging around my craft room for years and years. I have never really liked it, was sick of seeing it, but I realized I could make a card from it pretty easily with stuff I had on my desk. And now it's in the box on its way to Bring Smiles to Seniors ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) and I never have to see it again! http://instagram.com/p/CzuovgYJ7O1

Need to order more envelopes too! Did this yesterday! And then the envelopes arrived and I realized I copied from the wrong order and got 1000 5x7 envelopes instead of the A2 ones I can actually use. Uggggghhhhh. Paying to ship 14lb of those back to TN sucked. Felt so stupid. I should not have ordered those in a hurry first thing in the morning. Luckily it won’t break the bank and I’m saving money by not shopping sales this week. Sorry to hear you’re dealing with work stress/unmotivation. But it sounds to me like you’re coping with it in a fairly healthy way. Make all the holiday cards

I would listen to a sample of the other version before giving up, just to make sure there isn't something else that would drive you crazy about the older version. If the narrator speaks slowly (explaining the extra 3 hours) you can just dial the speed up, so that shouldn't be a problem. I almost always listen on 1.25x speed anyway. But yeah, the breathing would bother me and it would be hard to stop noticing it and 20 hours is a long time to be annoyed by something that's supposed to be fun.

Taylored Expressions has their week of specials starting today (Tuesday). Each day has a specific theme. Create in Quads stencils are the only thing that tempt me. It’s about the only time they’re marked down, but I’m just not sure that I will use any often enough to justify the cost. www.tayloredexpressions.com/season-of-crafting/I guess you could choose one Create-in-quads stencil tomorrow when stencils are on sale, and try it to see how you like it. I have one Christmas set from C& C last year (I think) that I have in my box of Christmas card items I want to use this year, but have not got to it yet. I used one during class and it was really fun and easy to do. Also Taylored Expressions stencils tend to have markings to help you line them up easily. I already have a couple that I got this time last year and they are very cool, but they also take more physical effort than I expected (I have some issues with my hands) so I don't use them as much as I would like. I might need more ergonomic blending brushes. But I keep thinking I can buy a lot of patterned paper for $25... If anyone needs a shortcut, TE stencils marked down here. Quads are $25 instead of the usual $35. www.tayloredexpressions.com/shop/stencils/season-of-crafting-stencils/

I am on the fence about stamp wheel. I don't have enough space to store it. Grabbed some products at discounted price from pinkfresh clearance sale they started today. They have some good deals. It's kind of awkward, especially because you can just shelve it like a book the way you can with a hinged platform. That was one of the reasons I decided it wouldn't work for me. If you used it all the time or had a big desk I guess storage wouldn't matter but I don't have the workspace for it.

I have an older SNC with a fairly small screen. As far as I know there isn’t a way to hook it up to a computer while you’re scanning and cutting things. You can design things in the canvas workspace and transfer them, but I don’t know if scanning something and saving it to view on the computer would work.
There should be a zoom function like mentioned above so you can see the scanned image and the cut lines but (at least on mine) there are only two levels - zoomed in or zoomed out. It’s still not always easy to see when it’s zoomed.

blemon I love your wreath page - so cute!! If I'd made that, it would be going up on the shelf as part of my Christmas decorations for sure. thanks! Maybe I won't put it in my album but I'll frame it instead. I haven't made any new Christmas crafts in a while. You could always display it until the end of Christmas and then put it in your album!

Anyone seen sleepingbooty ? It's getting close to December and she is being quiet. I am worried about her. I'm pretty sure she got really busy this time last year and then popped up just before December started. I hope she'll be back soon!

This was another card using things I had set aside as samples or extras. I went to photograph it with the others and realized it looked really unbalanced so I added more poinsettias to fix it. I barely had to do any die cutting to finish this card because I had almost everything pre-cut. I just had to figure out how to put it together! Nov share by jo.blackford, on Flickr

I had a 4x6 photo case that was filling up with half-started and half-finished Christmas cards and sentiments, etc so the other day I made some cards from as much of it as I could. These first ones used stamped and matted sentiments that I’d had hanging around for years. I could never find anything they went well with until I suddenly realized they just needed a snowflake embossed background. The little characters are a piece of notepaper (I think from one of those free notepad that charities give away). There was also a leftover foiled sentiment that went well enough with a holographic embossed test piece I had. Nov share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Once I figured out that the snowflake background was a quick and easy background I made more cards using the rest of the random bits. It was so satisfying to use up these old old things! The container is almost empty now. Nov share by jo.blackford, on Flickr

I've been pretty careful about spending this year. I've splurged a couple of times, but mostly procrastinated and missed out on deals and/or realized the impulse has passed. But there are a few sales that get me this time of year, specifically TE's week of sales coming up. It's pretty much the only time of year that their Quad stencils are marked down so I might treat myself to one or two, but only if I'm really sure I'll use them. I'm going to look back at what I got last year and see if it was worth the money and space. I suspect not. I'm here to cheer on anyone who is more interested in using things up than buying more! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Filter those emails so they skip your inbox or unsubscribe 🙈

I absolutely love puns for cards but not much for scrapping. I'm not sure why. I guess word play might be Ok, but I rarely use it in my memory keeping projects.

Mine is gross, lots of peeling. The top handle is starting to peel a bit too, but not as badly as the crank handle.
(The silicone/rubber on my Sonicare toothbrush does the same thing. My husband jokes that I have such rough hands…)

Today I spent the afternoon going through a 4x6 photo case that I had stashed all my half started Christmas things in, along with some experiments and failures and a pile of leftover sentiments. I trashed some junk, organized the die cuts, and finished 10 cards! I used some pretty random stuff that had been hanging out in there for several years. Very satisfying ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

That’s so cool! I have a very strong belief that we humans would be happier if we sang together in large groups on a regular basis! And danced too, probably. There’s something very special about it. I mean, who doesn’t love a flash mob? I was just reading about a guy who isn’t really into soccer but is a fan of Liverpool partly because they sing “you’ll never walk alone” and just hearing him describe that, 60,000 people singing the same heartfelt song together, gave me goosebumps.
It’s a theme that keeps coming up in different books I read about things like awe and happiness. I want to start a choir in my community where we just sing popular songs very loudly and don’t worry about getting the notes right.

I really liked the look of the Mix and a Mingle line, the images are adorable, but I also knew I'd struggle to use them so it was one of those lines I admired but refrained from buying. Congrats on using up the pad, and I'm sure your friend will be delighted to receive these (I love that record player!). Good for you! Sometimes I get influenced… I saw this collection on a Jess Crafts video so I thought it would work. I actually set aside the record player and the armchair for my friend immediately after I started, they were too “her” to waste on cards Some of the designs were really realistic and detailed and some were stylized and bold. I really didn’t like the look of the realistic ones on the stylized presents paper, for example. And I only mixed the two styles of poinsettias under duress. Maybe the mix of styles would’ve been less noticeable on a 12x12 layout or in an album, but on a small canvas like a card it was jarring. I should know by now that they’re not really designing for my kind of cardmaking.

Ooh, everyone has been busy! Lots of lovely projects to look at later ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I shared these in the latest Sheetload thread. I made some adjustments to suit my leftovers. Nov share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Nov share by jo.blackford, on Flickr And then the last few cards to finish off the paper pad... I only had one 2x2" square and some tiny scraps left. The 2x2 piece and the leftover die cuts are going to a friend for her journal. = 47 cards from a 6x8 + 2 bonus sheets + die cut pack ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I am happy to be done with this one. My husband thinks I'm odd for rarely emptying my waste paper bin at my desk but there's a reason... Stamps do tend to stick to other plastic things and being clear makes them extra difficult to find, but there's always hope. Finding dies amongst paper scraps or trash might be easier with a magnet.

Used up a Simple Stories 6x8 paper pad with 2 bonus sheets from the Etsy seller, plus a pack of die cuts => 47 cards. The die cuts were much harder to use than other brands I buy but I started sticking some of the random small ones inside the cards along with scrap flag/banners just to use them up. I still had quite a few leftover but I'm sending them to a friend for her journal so they will not be wasted. They suit her style very well. Leftovers gifted, aren't they adorable? Usually this time of year I’m in a flap getting ready for a week with the Honolulu family, realizing that if stuff doesn’t get done before then it may not get done before Christmas. This year they’re coming here so I haven’t had that sense of a deadline…
but I just realized I have all kinds of things I need to get done early anyway. I don’t need to worry about the photo books I make until after we get back from Christmas holidays, but I make photo calendars for gifts, and I need to sort out Christmas cards. So I will be doing some digital scrapping this weekend, and I have to get my ass into gear and mail a donation box to Bring Smiles to Seniors. Need to order more envelopes too!

Hi. I jumped on here to see if anyone had a better understanding of angel policies as I'd been tearing out my hair! I was thinking of making toppers to sell from my scraps with my many dies but now I might just sell bags of scraps on a stash selling site instead! Selling the scraps would be a lot less work ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) ...but I wouldn't worry too much about it if you want to use your dies. It's highly unlikely that anyone will identify the dies you used, and at most you'd get a cease and desist warning anyway. Given how many knock off dies there are on the market (which totally sucks) and extremely similar legit dies from different companies, I don't even see how a designer could look at a finished crafty product and think they could protest that person breaking the angel policy rules. I think we came to the conclusion that not one of us has ever heard of anyone getting in trouble for using a physical supply they bought. So if you want to make something to sell you should just go ahead

I realized the 1/2" strips could work quite well for sentiment strips. I didn't really end up using that idea except on that one modified card but I think it could work quite well to stamp supporting sentiments on some of the 1/2" strips, especially if you're using scraps and running out of pp.

Great work! I really like the double fold. I've done a variation on that but I think I like your style better. Thanks! Gramma's cards were 4x6 and Grammadee's were 5x7. I only got one A2 base per 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, but I got two cards out of two coordinating 6x6s. I can post or message you the cutting/scoring plan I came up with. Thanks, if it's not too much trouble to share.

I saw a card on IG where the creator stamped the images towards the bottom of the card then had a simple sentiment in the middle. I really liked it and decided to use this new set to give it a try. Ooh, I really like that! I sometimes forget to even try an image going off the edge, especially when stamping, but it looks so good!
