Finally finished my Nature's Walk Throw!!! Thank goodness...whew! ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191211/d919416ba6f2b1405dc1ff7fa19e1b88.jpg) Well done, well done, well done! It's so beautiful - all that hard work. Do you love it? I do love it. It will be a Christmas gift for my MIL. I think she will love it.

You must be thrilled. I'm just glad to be done with it. I don't like crocheting on a deadline. And I was thinking I didn't need to block the edges as it looks fine when laying flat but holding it up like Jeremy did for pictures I feel like you can't see the lacy edge right. I might steam block with my iron tonight.

I really dragged butt on that last row. If I hadn't had a deadline, it would have been put in the corner for a good month. I'm just not good with deadlines. They give me anxiety.

elaine did you block your edge? No. No patience for blocking something that large. I might, like you, iron it. Lesson learned for me: no more CAL blankets/throws that involve blocking. That just isn’t practical for my house full of dogs and people who actually use throws. I need to be able to throw them in the washer and lightly dry on a regular basis. They are not (and will not) be blocked before being put back on the couch to use.

This is definitely decorative and not an everyday kind of blanket. ETA: I think Tyra made the better choice yarn wise. I think her blanket will be a lot more functional than ours.

Does anyone else suffer from 'I can do that' syndrome? I've watched one video on YouTube and now I'm convinced I can do Fair Isle knitting ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Ivm7lm0DayrhoRpwvCeH.jpg) I should just get on and finish what I'm working on!

I have no doubt you could do Fair Isle if you want do. Your work is lovely. I did a Fair Isle jumper years ago, so many years I can't remember anything about the process, just wanted to try something different.

The hardest bit is keeping your balls of yarn tidy and not pulling tight on the “spare” yarn as you carry it across the back. Remember to catch the spare into the main work every few stitches. It’s been years since I did fair isle mind you! YouTube might have it totally different.

I love the way fair isle knitting looks and have made a few items (socks and mittens), but I am a tight knitter, and even if it looks fine on the right side, I never have left long enough carries along the back and the items don’t have enough stretch to them to be comfortable.

I was reading a travel blog I follow today and thought my fellow crafters would get a kick out of this article. The author was writing about theme cruises and listed what she considered to be some of the more unusual themes. The list includes Nudist cruises, Star Trek, KISS Kruise, Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager, Golden Girls, Gothic Cruise and.....a Crochet cruise! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/JvSt42CUoZ9LG952aAaF.jpg) While a crochet cruise would appeal to a limited audience, for some reason I just don't see them in the same category as a nudist cruise! Now if one were to combine the crochet cruise with a nudist cruise, I could see that being unusual! ![](http://stevengale.smugmug.com/Other/Peasmilies/i-v9P6jMF/0/O/laugh.gif)

Like knitting your own handcuffs, or crocheting a gimp suit! Apparently it’s a real subset of people who make their own sex toys!! I don’t know any more than that and I’m too scared to google it. Apologies for bringing down the tone of the thread, but crocheting nudists are probably already a thing!!

I finally have something productive to share! I stumbled across this pattern for a Crochet Baby Yoda on Thursday and decided I have to make it for DH's Christmas, but before he comes back from being out of town tomorrow! I have the body and head done as well as 1.5 arms. Just 2 sleeves, a collar, a chain, 2 ears, and assembly left. It's small so I think I can actually do it, or at least come close enough to be able to finish it when he's not looking.

I suffer from that and then I swing right around to I can't do that! And I can. I'm fully capable. I'm just usually about boring afghans. Because I love them. And I will see a sweater and I'll buy a magazine. Thinking I can surely do that. And then two days later I'm at I can't do that. I'm so screwy because the real answer is I have been able to do whatever I've tried. So I *can* do that. I just choose not to. And it's because I like things that are very repetitive. And stuff where I don't really have to think.

My first foray into alcohol inks. I made coasters for my co-workers. I like them, but don't love them. I used both Tim Holtz Inks, Metallic and Pinata i ![](http://storage.proboards.com/5645536/thumbnailer/CKXluQQgqmXLUIOLQpeR.png) nks. I watched a video this week by the owner of my LSS where she made the cutest paper Christmas tree. I took that idea, and made an angel on a large tag. Today, I decided to try it on an ornament. I think they are so cute! If I were to make more, I’d have to figure out a better way to stabilize the halo.
I’ll share my tags in the next post.

I'm working on crocheting my MIL's Cuffed Shawl, and my DH's Cozy Coed Cardigan. Until those two are finished, that's all I'm working on. Maybe I'll take a few hours and solder some pendants. Not sure though. I'll at least do the copper foil taping ahead of time, I can do that real quick.

I did order that bag this morning. And I have only the last row of trim to do on my butterfly shawl so it will be done in time for our holiday party Saturday. And, I have donated and used up almost all of my stash! So I will get to do some shopping in the new year. I'm so excited because our winery is having a Wine and Wool Festival on January 25th. I will be there with cash in hand for gorgeous yarns.
