But if you're giving one sister a handmade gift, it's hard not to give another one as well. So I've got three weeks until our holiday party to get these two things done. For 2020, I'm going to make this shawl. My DD wants it. But I cannot decide whether I want blues to go with it. Or if I want greens and brown. Feel free to share your thoughts. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sacred-spaceSo what's on your list for 2020?

That one is a stunner wellway. Is a year long CAL? Or just you think it will take you a year? I can see it taking me a year. There are a lot of pieces to it.

That one is a stunner wellway . Is a year long CAL? Or just you think it will take you a year? I can see it taking me a year. There are a lot of pieces to it. It's a year long cal, there will be a pattern release every two weeks through 2020 amounting to 26 releases. I'm thinking of getting a container for the pieces to keep them clean until the joining instructions/border are released.

A year is a good time frame because that one is definitely a marathon not a Sprint.

I just started knitting in February - so I am in awe of the lovely intricate blankets that can be done, like posted above. I am not there yet, but I will work my way up. I've been doing hats, scarves and mittens and just started a basic seed stitch blanket for myself. We are headed to visit family for the first time in a long time over Christmas. I have many great nieces and nephews I haven't met yet. I just started doing little knitted aviator hats for the boys, and I'll do a different hat for the girls. I saw on YouTube how to make the crochet/braided wreath so I made several of those so far, and one I combined with our new learning on needle felting and made this.

Oh man, that Bohemian Blooms is stunning wellway. I don’t need to make another blanket. I really don’t. I don’t. jeremysgirl that shawl, which is lovely, is very similar to the one I’ve just made. It has a third band to it whereas mine has just the mesh band and the shell/granny band. I have told myself I’m going to finish a lot of my wips starting in a week or so. I have a very bad habit of losing interest in a project and starting something else. This shawl has fired me up to get going because I’ve never made one before and it was so quick to do.

I have 3 sweaters I'm crocheting. A cuffed shawl for MIL, a zip front cardigan for DH, and an oversized button front tunic for me. The ones for MIL and DH are Christmas gifts, mine is just for something warm and cozy to wear this winter, so no deadline.
And some soldered pendants to work on for myself too. One is a flat round labradorite cabochon the size of a jar lid. I want to do it first because it's such a "wow" piece.
I have sewing to do, making clothes and some alterations and repair, but can't motivate myself to do it. I'd rather sit and crochet while listening to music or podcasts.
I did make a bunch of pretty crocheted hats that were sold in a booth at a renaissance faire this fall. I'll show those. And some kaleidoscope mandala and goddess figure image pendants to be sold at a new age shop. I just need to put pics on imgur so I can post them here.

You guys with your elaborate projects intimidate me. I'm the slowest knitter on earth so my latest project to start soon is a 2 x 2 ribbed cowl (a mere cowl! that the average person could probably churn out in an afternoon). My friend has a cottage industry yarn factory on her farm where she processes wool from fleece to skeins. I bought some gorgeous and super-soft rusty-brown alpaca from her that she made from somebody's else's alpacas. (She has sheep) I also finally broke down and bought complete sets of needles from Knit Picks because I have a cluster$uck of assorted needles from previous projects, but of course, none of them worked with this project. jeremysgirl, that Sacred Space KA pattern is gorgeous. I'm not a pink person so I would do something more neutral, but I know you love color so I would go with lots of variants of one color, like from the deepest pink to pink-tinged cream.

These are (some of) the crocheted hats I made for a vendor at a renaissance faire. They can be worn as tams or hair snoods. These are a few of the image pendants I made for a new age shop (only a few, I have a bunch of different mandalas packed to go already). The square zodiac ladies were a purchased image file. But the purple mandalas are photos I took through the eyepiece of a kaleidoscope I built. The goddesses are fertility/abundance figure watercolors I made and scanned to use in projects. And this is one of the huge crochet tunics I already made for myself. The one I'm working on now is plum and navy.

Wow, that's beautiful.
I shared my 2020 plans last month but I've added a couple more things My local yarn/craft store were having a clearance sale and I picked up some sock yarn to hopefully make Rose City Rollers shorty socks
I also want to make another Nurmilintu I know I botched the lace sections last time and want to try again.
I'm considering this as well Ist Anniversary Shawl I've never knitted bobbles or textured stitches so it would keep me quiet for a while.

I am working on a couple of projects with deadlines of Dec. 10 at latest - a baby quilt and a wall hanging made from my sister's cross stitch pieces. Once I get those done, I'll probably move on to doing some needlepoint.
For 2020, I have plans to finish up 4 quilts that are in progress and 1 more that is ready to cut out/sew. Like I did for 2019, my plan is to buy only fabric/supplies that are required to finish a current project. I did pretty well with that this year...until Quilt Festival in November.
Question for my fellow crafters. I'm thinking of starting a stand alone thread that will help me keep track of my stash (simply tracking incoming/outgoing fabric & supplies), as well as project goals for the year. I would just update my own post once a month. It would be like the crafters version of the declutter/purging thread. Is that something anyone else would be interested in participating in?

lainey, I love improv quilts. Even though I had never quilted anything at the time, I took a workshop with Denyse Schmidt on improv quilting (because I'm weird like that) and it turned out to be so beneficial for me for looking at any creative project. We did an exercise where we had to pick random fabric scraps out of a brown paper bag (unseen) and put together a quilt square with whatever we picked. As a someone with such control-freak tendencies that it has inhibited my creative pursuits over the years, this was very anxiety-provoking, but it led to a little breakthrough for me. It was amazing how everyone's finished squares worked, even though they were a mishmash of weird colors and shapes. Actually, not just worked, but were beautiful.
