I'm another that loves Sandra. I didn't in the beginning but the more I watch her...she is the Queen. And she makes me laugh. I agree with everything that Jackie said about Rob. He gets on my last nerve. Can't stand Parvati.
The fire tokens are going to be an interesting addition to this season.
I was sorry to see Natalie voted out. I have come to really like her too.
I wish they had shown us who voted for who in both tribals.
I think this season is going to be awesome!

Cannot wait...although it's bittersweet as my dad and I would text during it..damn... My mom died at 60 ten years ago. Even though I moved to a different country Survivor and Big Brother were two shows that kept us in constant contact. No texting for us back then, but a good long distance phone plan was a good thing. I still miss not being able to call her and tell her spoilers I learned online etc. I do hate that survivor & the masked singer are on the same night & time though. I I do too. I am loving Masked Singer right now. I prefer this format, but I digress. I was up at 5:00 this morning watching survivor before I opened FB etc. i love that its 2 entire tribes of smart people who are good at strategizing LOL after watching 2 hours I am not convinced they are all that good at strategizing. I don't know, I kind of like that she gave it to Sandra. I honestly was hoping she would play it JUST to watch everyone's faces. I just think he’s arrogant, He is but I don't think he tries to pretend he's not. I wish they had shown us who voted for who in both tribals. I think this season is going to be awesome! I really enjoyed last night so I have high hopes for a good season. I too wish I could of seen all the votes. There is probably some place online to find out I am just too lazy to go sleuthing

Rob is my favourite player of all time. I love how he is able to talk his way out of most situations, how good he is at manipulating things to go the way he wants them to. I know he's not going to win, they won't let him, but I hope he stays for awhile because he is fascinating to watch Amber - meh. didn't care if she stayed or left. I agree she was not ready for this style of game play. She wouldn't have lasted long anyway. Same with Ethan, this is way over his head. Yul is out of touch too but he was quick at figuring out how to make it work for him. Sandra just gets on my last nerve for some reason. If these people aren't careful this is going to be her 3rd win exactly my thoughts!!! I love Rob.. He's so full of himself, and yet they didn't vote him off... I think that is why I like him.. He is still really physically strong as well, he did great on the water challenge. I mean he is no spring chicken anymore.. haha.. I don't know why but I hope he goes far (probably not though) Sandra, I used to kinda like, she is a good player.. but something about her gets on my nerves.. and every time she is on, it gets worse. I love Ethan and Yul.. I think they might fly under the radar for awhile.... but I don't see either of them getting really far into the game.

Do you think they didn't show the votes because of a time factor? I thought it was a little odd.

I really liked last night. There are a few players who I did not remember, but I also quit watching for a few years in the middle. I like this season especially because the ages are mostly older. You don't have just the one token older person with a bunch of young people. Most seem to have families now which I think changes how you see the world too.
It should be a good season. I was wondering why Natalie gave it to Sandra instead of Jeremy. I forgot she had to give it to the losing team. Maybe she said she had hoped someone from her team showed up so she could have given it to Jeremy.

So all the contestants are actually winners? champions? I don't remember some of them winning? Did Jeremy win a season?
I don't get why anyone that's on this season would think any better of Sandra and Rob. They won just the same as them. And I told you guys that Rob and Sandra would stay in...just watch. Some of these champions, I'm like seriously? they won?!

Last night was so much fun to watch. I haven’t been this excited about a season in forever. There is just so much passion and the different ways they were all strategizing right off the bat-fantastic. I seriously don’t remember the majority of players-like not at all-even though I’ve seen every season. I think Sandra is as funny as hell. Keep her around for entertainment. Every season needs a pot stirrer and she really is the queen. And when she was telling her team-don’t look back, I was LMAO. I’m putting my money on Yul. I do remember him and I love his style of play.

I am zipping up my flame suit before I say this but can Rob please put on a shirt. That puggie, dough boy soft body just creeps me out. And take off the gold chains.
That is all.

I didn't know that Rob and Amber moved to Pensacola. Of course, I don't keep up with them outside of Survivor.

I think it'll be a good season. I was disappointed that Amber was sent off. I think it's interesting to see the wide span of years.

A little off topic I’ve never been to Boston, or really New England...plus I live on the opposite coast so the accent is not something I hear often. Does Rob have a very strong Boston accent, or do you think its turned up a bit to help create a persona?

Rob go into full Robfather mode looking forward to seeing that!!! i don't love sandra but respect the hell out of her. she is super smart. i didn't understand her upset about rob not telling her that both him and amber would be playing next season when there were on island of the idols as mentors or whatever and that means war.... all i could think was "so did you tell HIM you would be playing again during those 30 some odd days???". i think edge of extinction and the tokens are GREAT additions to this season in particular. there are existing relationships - you can't just lie and blindside people and not worry about repercussions until there are just the players left that are going to be on the jury now. each and every single move has potential long term consequences. so far, loving yul and jeremy. yes, i think ethan is in way over his head - but he knows it and is trying to adjust. ben was hilarious, going all fan-boy with rob and just spilling everything - while realizing it was happening at that exact moment. then he tries to reign it in and rob zooms in for the kill.... "so are you gonna tell me??". also, great strategy from rob to go to that woman and ask her if she was lobbying to put down his name and she admitted it. she tried to tap dance around it with her answer and he cut thru the crap "tell me the truth so i know if i can trust you" and she spilled. lol! the season literally went from 0-100 - like THAT!!

Reading between the lines...I think she must have. Obviously they were talking about it and she said that he said something like he'd never play on that beach again. It sounds like it may have come up more than once and that Sandra told him she was playing but he said nothing about himself or Amber. That's why she feels so betrayed and I don't think she'd be taking it so personally if she lied as well. Therefore she must have told him the truth, but in return he lied to her.

I watched and was waiting so anxiously for the season to start that I almost watched it at 8:00 and was willing to watch it with commercials, but DS held me off until it'd recorded enough so we could see it without them.
Impressions so far:
I don't care for the token twist. I'd much rather they had to do the work and hunt for the idols-it seems too easy right now and too much geared towards existing partnerships or friendships-i.e. Rob and Amber's marriage, and other friendships. Hopefully it'll work out to be a fun twist as it works it's way further into the game.
I've never liked Extension Island or any of the set-ops that allow you to exist in the game after you are voted out. In my mind once you are voted out-you're out. Just like in baseball. No second chances. Secondly it takes too much time away from showing the viewers (us) either camp life or challenges like reward challenges which most people like. It gives us time for two challenges per episode rather than just one so we get to see more interaction between the two tribes.
The players-I'm loving having 20 of the winners back from Survivor back again for a season. What a fantastic idea! I too can't stand Rob for the reason Jackie stated and because his ego is so inflated, and I don't like Sandra either, inflated ego and while I enjoy watching her play-she sure stirs things up-she just rubs me the wrong way. I've never liked her. My favorite players are Yul and Ethan and I'm hoping Yul wins. I too was upset to see Natalie go so quickly because I like her too-she did amazing in her season. There are a lot of players I like this season and I have to admit, as much as I have watched Survivor (all of them twice except the last few seasons that I've seen once) there are a couple of players I too don't remember, like Sophie or Michelle. I like Tony too.
I do like that so far they are keeping Rob and Amber on separate teams and I guess that case is now moot since Amber was voted off second. I also wonder if on her own Amber would have gotten very far since it's been so long since she played and Rob pretty much carried her the season she won, but she really didn't even get a chance to play being voted off so quickly. Jackie I loved it when you wrote what you said about Rob (and I agree 100% with what you wrote about him during the Amazing Race-he doesn't respect all people-and makes no qualms about saying so out loud) going full "Robfather" when he finds out Amber got voted out next episode. I couldn't believe it when Ben was acting like such a fan to Rob and spilling his guts. At least Kim had the decency to stand up to him but she didn't do much better. Why can't these people lie to his face? Why are some of them cowed by him? They won their seasons too and Rob has only won once, same as they have. I'm not counting Sandra in this-she obviously has no problem standing up to Rob. And she won twice!
What do you all think of the prize going up to 2 million? I like it! I think it's about time. It's been a million for 20 years plus they used to give away a car in the early years and they haven't done that in years. I wonder if they'll keep it going after this season or if it's just for this season?
I do think they'd be smart to vote Rob out next and then Sandra as soon as they can. Get the biggest threats out first, but somehow this never seems to happen.

Maybe she said she had hoped someone from her team showed up so she could have given it to Jeremy. This makes sense to me. Natalie won the season he played in the first time and they had a strong alliance (he played with his wife and Natalie with her twin, and those two were the first eliminated IIRC). Jeremy was back for the second chance season and won it. Does Rob have a very strong Boston accent, or do you think its turned up a bit to help create a persona? I think it is legit.

I have never liked the seasons where there are a few returning players mixed in with the new ones, because the returning players are always targeted immediately since the new ones assume the old ones will be so much better at the game. So this season with ALL returning players, and all winners at that, is great! When anyone is eliminated it won't be because "he/she has already won once", it will be due to something else. Except Sandra of course who's won twice.
I have always liked Sandra though. I remember her first season how great she was in the the village, getting all those good bargains since she speaks Spanish. And I have never liked Rob so if Sandra is annoyed with him then great! lol
Parvati has always annoyed the heck out of me.... too many teeth when she smiles, like "oh hahaha look at cute little me". ugh.
I'm sad that Natalie went first because although she and her sister were SO annoying the first time we met them (was that on "Survivor" or "Amazing Race"?) she was really strong during that first challenge. She would have helped her team.
I also don't remember some of these people. If they're from later seasons though, then that's why... I've kind of lost interest in "Survivor" the past few seasons. But I like this one so far, and I like the idea of the tokens because it's something different.

I am 90% sure the $2m prize is only for this season; something to sweeten the pot. And I don't believe for a minute they didn't know that prior to agreeing to play.
I think there's a good chance Sandra is lying about Rob not telling her about him and Amber, and that they have a plan to work together. That seems very likely to me. Guess we'll find out eventually.
