Before this started we had driven to Seattle and visited a trader joes. They make my favourite flour - white whole wheat flour but they were out. I can’t find it in Canada. I wish I’d stock piled whole wheat bread flour and whole wheat pastry flour or even whole wheat all purpose flour. Instead I was waiting to go back to trader joes. Now those types of flours are hard to find. Also, I thought I had a lot of white sugar but now I’ve gone through half and can’t find more to buy. I wish I’d bought more sugar. I got brown sugar at Costco on Thursday so that can be a sub in baking if necessary. I thought I had a lot of dry red lentils but now we’re almost out and I can’t get them anymore. The last time I was at Trader Joe's (first week of March) they didn't even have a spot on the shelf for the white whole wheat flour. I fear that it has been discontinued. I got a couple bags at Kroger for now. Some stores carry the King Arthur version but it's at least double the price.

Brown rice. No one here has the brand I use. I have to hit the other grocery store today so I'm going to ask them if they think it'll be stocked soon. Otherwise, I'll find it online (hopefully).

Cleaning supplies other than disinfectant. Now that I'm home all day, i can *see* the dust more, I guess. Already run out of lemon pledge spray. Other stuff is getting low, but I'm not willing to brave the store just for cleaning products.

The only thing I want and cannot get is rice 🤷♀️ Same here, but my mom was at Costco last week and they had the 20# bags of rice in stock. She wasn't going to get any, but everyone around her was grabbing it and she succumbed to peer pressure and bought a bag. LOL! She bagged up some for me and I picked it up on her porch, so I'm good for now. She also put out a baggie of yeast for me! Yay mom!

The only thing I want and cannot get is rice 🤷♀️ Oh no, don't tell me that! LOL I had a giant bag of rice when this started, and it is almost gone. It is on my list for the next time I go grocery shopping. We found rice at our local Asian market.

Not so much hoarded but I wish we had organised a web cam for my parents. At a relatively early stage my brother searched everywhere for a camera and had no luck. It would have been an extra welcome addition to their lockdown if we could have all communicated visually. not a webcam but works well - Amazon Echo, and I beleive Facebook has a version too

when this all began, I literally had Clorox wipes and clean-up spray in my basket at Costco. Dh said you’re crazy we have three containers of wipes and an extra gallon of clean up downstairs. We don’t need it! I’m so annoyed that I listened to him. I usually buy it when I go without him but he was with me that day. I always say, cleaning products don’t go bad.
He also insisted we had enough tp which may have been true if things were normal but when dd and I are both home all day we need more tp then when we’re working or on campus. Fortunately I’ve been able to find some so not feeling panic there.
Dh also goes through paper towels like crazy! Again I found some at Costco so that helps.
Flour and sugar were hard to find but that is slowly coming back on the shelves.
My biggest struggle is trying to keep our house and my parents house stocked. Especially when said parents don’t plan for what they are running out of but instead text in the morning to say they don’t have bread.🤦🏽♀️ Yes that happened today.

If I would have known better I would have bought an extra bag of bread flour. I have enough here to make a couple loaves or a pan of dinner rolls but that’s about it. I normally don’t bake bread all the time, but I usually do for most holidays so that’s when I typically buy an extra bag to refill my container. Like Easter. I have plenty of yeast and regular flour but only about 6-8 cups of bread flour. And I totally agree with Belia on the patience! That is another thing that can be in short supply around here at times!

We started preparing in February before most people were thinking about it so we were able to get just about everything and so far, it seems like my list was comprehensive. I didn't think about some non-necessities like parchment or CO2 bottles for my sodastream but I was able to get those things on Amazon this week. My oversight was planning for only three people though because I thought the issue would be supply chain disruptions, not that we'd actually be confined to our homes and that my son would be home from college. DD is a vegetarian so I bought and froze enough meat for 2 of us to eat meat occasionally. We're still okay for now although I definitely think through every meal plan and ways to stretch the meat for 3 people for as many meals as possible. I haven't tried to buy any yet but anecdotally, meat seems to be out of stock in most local stores and given the new outbreaks and shutdowns in the various meat packing plants in my state, I don't think that's going to improve anytime soon. TLDR? I wish I hoarded more steak, chicken and ground pork.

Spaghetti: It’s the only pasta my DH eats and we have it twice a week. I’ve managed to get it a couple of times since lockdown but it’s very unpredictable and causes me the most anxiety. Rice is still hard to come by but I’ve managed to buy some this week, and there are lots of alternatives out there that I can use for some meals like quinoa, packet flavoured dried rice, packet cooked rice and couscous so I’m not so stressed about that.
Paracetamol: Still hard to get anywhere. We don’t use a lot but if someone in the family does fall ill and is taking 8 tabs a day, we’d get through what I have pretty quickly.
Dettol spray or the Aldi lookie-likie: Not something I used a huge amount of before so one spray bottle lasted for ages, but I’ve been using it to wipe down my shopping before it comes into the house and I’m getting through it.
5x5 card blanks and envelopes: The brand I like are 300gsm, fantastic quality and impossible to buy anywhere at the moment.
I’m really, really missing Costco. My friend and I used to go every three weeks or so. Virtually all my meat came from there, and lots more besides. It’s a thirty minute drive away so I can’t justify going with the current restrictions as I can get mostly everything locally, although they’ll be dearer and different brands. It’ll be the first place I go when restrictions are lifted.

I, too, wish I'd bought more Clorox wipes. I thought there were more in the container than there are. Otherwise, I feel like we're doing pretty well. I had an Instacart delivery this week and except for milk and fresh produce, which we may do without, we're good for several weeks.

We've been pretty set for most things. It's the fresh produce that we have a hard time getting. DH is the designated shopper and he came home the other day with salad stuff, but alas, no lettuce of any kind was to be found. And only bags of baby carrots for my carrot cake.

Rice is still hard to find here. I had a bag in my cart right before this started but I was buying so much I decided not to get it, so I regret that now.
I also had a case of masks in my amazon cart when we got the first infected person here in Seattle but didn’t buy it because I thought I was being paranoid. I would have loved to have those to give to the hospital workers.
I was stocking up a week before things got crazy and I saw an acquaintance who kind of laughed at me for the amount I was buying. Who’s laughing now??

Like rice, Ramen noodles are something they tend to have plenty of (my dh and ds1 have decided to eat them daily for lunch), and in a variety of flavors not always found in regular grocery stores. My son is becoming a ramen gourmand. :-P

We have had no problem finding any food products (except yeast), I did see someone with Clorox wipes in their buggy, but there where no more. I have 3 stores I rotate through for us and my Mother. If one doesn't have beef or chicken I need, one of the other stores will. Lysol spray is elusive though. WE have gotten some at work, but cannot keep it in stock in our warehouse.

Cleaning supplies. I'm set for now because I obsessively buy Clorox wipes whenever I go to Costco, but, they will run out eventually and I see no evidence cleaning products are actually being restocked in the stores. That aisle has been empty for weeks now. Nothing but Pledge products.
I've seen paper towels start to trickle in, so I'm not worried those won't be available when I do need more, and I have lots of TP, for the same reason I have Clorox wipes.
We are fine on meat because DH and DS went on a hunting trip over Christmas and came home with 4 deer and 11 fish that are now packaged up in our freezer, and I stumbled upon a 20lb bag of chicken breasts a few weeks ago.
Produce has always been well stocked when I've been inside grocery stores.

Library books! I did get a good amount, but if this last a couple more months I'm in trouble. I did buy a kindle paperwhite a few weeks ago, but haven't had to resort to that yet. But I will always stock up on library books just in case!
I am a clean supplies addict, so I am set with those and Clorox wipes. I have a lot of little Bath and Body Works hand sanitizers and a good amount of cannisters of hand wipes and purse pouches hand wipes. I was so excited when I was cleaning out suitcases and tote bags and found more! Sounds like that Clorox bathroom cleaner with bleach is popular! I have a problem with bleach! I manage to stain my clothes or the rug if I use it. So I only use a bleach cleaner to clean my kitchen sink.
