My aunt (who is 75) had it at the end of March/early April. She did not need to be hospitalized but said she pretty much slept 18+ hours a day for over 3 weeks and was pretty tired and weak for weeks afterwards.
ETA: my DH cousin, her 3 kids, and his aunt (who all live together) have confirmed they had it (one of them had a blood test and has antibodies)in very early January. I didn't know it was here that early... they caught it in Florida and were sick at home in Michigan.

I know two people who have died from it (both in their 70's but neither were what I would consider "elderly" or "sickly") and three friends of mine have had it. It is no joke. This area has been hit hard. Even if you live in an area that hasn't been hit hard, please learn from us and BE CAREFUL. Wear a mask, stay home if you can avoid being out.

Not until today. BIL and nephew tested positive today. SIL and other nephew (who tested negative last week) are getting tested this afternoon. Otherwise, I don’t know anyone.

Yes, 5. Two family members in Germany, both mild symptoms in their early 30s, both fully recovered. 3 in Idaho, exposed in Seattle area, all over 60, one symptomatic & fully recovered, the other two positive/asymptomatic.
BFF is an anesthetist in NE Ohio. She says the numbers where she is are driven almost exclusively by the Amish community who generally refuse testing and won't isolate within their own community. The women who come in to give birth must submit to testing and every last one has been asymptomatic/positive. The first Covid death her hospital had was an elderly Amish man.

Yes, I know 4 who tested positive and are recovering. And at least a dozen who have been highly suspected to have had it, but couldn’t get tests. When this first started in WA it was next to impossible to get a test unless you were being admitted to the hospital or are a first responder.
I also know an elderly couple who had it and both passed away.

My Aunt had it (mild symptoms) and my daughter-in-law's mother and grandmother both had it (mild and very mild symptoms). All are negative now.

I know more than ten. Four passed away, but one had poor health at 60 or were 75+. Additionally, I suspect 2 more elderly "sudden deaths" were virus-related, but they didn't exhibit fever, so they weren't tested.

A high school friend of mine and his wife, both late 40s and in otherwise good health. She was especially ill and likely has lasting lung damage.
One of my daughter's friends from high school, caught it working in a coffee shop after we reopened. 19 years old. She had symptoms like a really bad flu.
Grandparents of an online friend, both passed away.

My niece (43) was wicked sick for well over a month with Covid19. They believe her daughter also had it in early-mid Feb but she was never tested.

I'm tired so I'm just going to list the people I know: my friend, her daughter and her husband; my daughter's best friend, her sister, and her parents (he was hospitalized and on a ventilator and has a very long and arduous recovery ahead of him); another woman I know and her husband; my friend's daughter, who is a nurse; my other daughter's two friends; the husband of a friend (very sick in the hospital for a long time); the manager of a local hardware store - he died.

Yes I have had 10 friends who had it, All 10 passed away. I am so so sorry. 😔. Sending you lots of hugs. Thank you so much. Losing 10 people in under three months has taken its toll. There was a point where I didn't want to answer my phone. I think the hardest part has been not being able to say goodbye. Or be there for the families. I really just want 2020 to be over with.

No fortunately I do not. However, to anyone that says: It is a hoax. They're making it out to be worse than it is. More people die of the flu. And all that other stupid stuff To those people I say... tell that to the loved ones of the people that have died. Tell that to the people that have to die alone. Old people are old, so who cares if they die, right?

Ds’ classmate’s mom was hospitalized with covid. For 2 weeks I think. She had to be resuscitated once and she came close to going on the respirator. Thank God she improved. They discharged her as soon as she could breathe on her own.
It took another several weeks til she was finally pain free, and is still too weak to stand/walk for more than a half hour per day. She has suffered lasting damage to lungs, kidneys, and liver.

Two. One who recovered at home and one who spent a month in the hospital (two weeks in ICU).

My grandma passed away from Covid in early April. Several of my aunts, uncles, and cousins have also either tested positive for it or have had the antibody test and tested positive for antibodies. None of them had it bad enough to be hospitalized.

My daughter has 5 friends who caught it. They all had fever and several days of feeling bad but seem to be doing fine now.
My best friend's mother-in- law caught it. She was in her 80's. She recovered and is totally fine.
My father is in his 70's and several of his friends caught it last week but seem to be doing fine now. Hopefully the worst is over for them.
Just today I found out my cousin and her daughter have it. They both had fever of 104 degrees last night. Hopefully they will be fine.

I know 2 families. One lives 1.5 miles from my house. All 4 people (kids and adults) had it in their house. All are ok now. The parents were more affected than the kids.
The other family lives 3 miles from us (if that). She and her husband got it. Their 4 children did not. She said that they got it from their housekeeper who had attended a concert put on by a singer who turned out to have it. That concert sparked a crap ton of cases in our county.

Yes, I do. He has recovered thankfully, but it was not a walk in the park. He is 60 years old, doesn't smoke, doesn't drink in excess, not overweight; pretty much a healthy individual. It almost took an act of congress for him to get tested and I think that is why he was so sick. He had all the symptoms, went to the doctor at his work. Was told they could not test him as he was not an essential worker, didn't get any better, went to his personal doctor 3 days later, same story, not an essential worker; couldn't test. Three days later he is even worse and went to an ER. And guess what,he tested positive for COVID 19!! Surprise, surprise. After he tested positive, everyone was tested at his workplace and over 10% tested positive. He was in ICU for ten days. Scary business.....

I know several: my husband, several friends and a coworker’s husband died from it.
I’m very sorry for people who are touched by this terrible virus.
I find all the conspiracy theories infuriating.

My daughter has it. She had traveled for work last week and got home on Saturday not feeling well. She called her doctor on Monday and he sent her in for the test right away and her results came back positive yesterday. She said she is doing okay just a sore throat and very bad headache. She's young and healthy but I'm still worried. I told her she has to let me know how she's doing every day. My husband works in a food plant so he's been working through this whole thing, but three people tested positive at the plant and they shut down for 11 days. DH test results were lost so he never got his results. The husband of a woman he works with has it and she told them at work that he's not expected to make it.

I can't even count the number of people I know (first-hand) who have had it. A LOT. a couple were asymptomatic; a couple were on ventilators. The vast majority were really effin' sick at home or in the hospital but not on a vent. Most of the people I know who have died are "second degree" acquaintances - parents of my kids' friends (several ) or parents of friends of mine (mostly elderly). If you don't know anyone who's had it, just get on your knees and say, "Thank you!" then PUT ON YOUR MASK so it stays that way!

Two. My cousin and her husband. Both work within the prison system. I think she said they had 400+ positive cases in their complex. Both of them are in very good health, very fit, late 30s. She had a mild case and was able to stay home. He was hospitalized but not on a ventilator.

We have friends who were on a plane right when things shut down. Both got it, the wife much, much less than her husband.
He kept a journal of his experiences and it should be published as a public health warning. His stories of his mental state were like reading about a world of fantasy or like a horror movie. He hallucinated for days. He recovered somewhat but still has mental issues. He’s a scientist and wants to figure the whole thing out. It’s not a hoax.
