Yes. Two of my DD’s best friends in their 20s who were really sick for a few weeks and fine now. My best friend in her 60s who ended up in the hospital for weeks with pneumonia that finally cleared up. My husband’s employee in his 30s who recovered. My plumbers wife died. Plus another 10 or so acquaintances and friends of friends that recovered. It’s been bad here in Massachusetts. It's actually a lot better these days, fortunately!

My grandpa and his wife live in a home and are in their 90s. They both tested positive, but were asymptomatic. There is some skepticism within the family on whether they both had it. Neither are overly healthy and with their age it seems unlikely they would have no symptoms, but you never know.
We also have a customer who has it. He lives in Texas.

My area has not been very hard hit yet. An acquaintance's spouse had it, spent weeks on a ventilator and is still recovering. My uncle had it and recovered. A friend had it and recovered. A close friend's mother-in-law died from it.

Three - two co-workers and a university student. One of the co-workers probably in his mid-forties was hospitalized for several weeks. A month later he still looks terrible. The other coworker in her mid-thirties looks fine and I am not sure she actually had COVID, she is very illness centered. The student in her early 30's died - no underlying conditions.

Yes I have had 10 friends who had it, All 10 passed away. I am very sorry for you to experience this much loss and this must be very hard on you. Those are awful odds. Be safe.

Not personally, but my friend’s aunt died of it. She was a nurse on the reservation.

My mom lost her cousin in a FL nursing home, in March. We are in the Las Vegas area and know a few people that have tested positive. Thankfully no one that has needed to be hospitalized. Our numbers have doubled since The Strip reopened, and cases are going up everyday in my zip code, so I'm sure we will know more people soon.
Covid deniers are like drunk drivers. They don't really give a shit about anyone but themselves, and then beg and plead for forgiveness when they hurt or kill someone.

I know of three. My cousin had it in Chicago and recovered. My friend's father in Baltimore had it, wasn't doing well but managed to turn it around and recover. Another friend lost her aunt in NY to it. I hate masks, I am tired of being locked in, I am tired of being locked in with my family but I accept why we do it and who we do it for.

Unfortunately, yes. Three adult in-laws and my little nephew are all positive (this week). Only one is symptomatic. A nurse on my unit is positive and I was just informed that three of our nurses on another unit are positive. We lost an extended family member early on, too. Our hospital just re-opened our designated unit for rule out and positive patients. 😞

I don't know anyone personally but my parents did. I don't remember how many exactly as dad's memory slips at times and he repeats himself. They know so many Daves and Mikes and Pats that I'm not sure if they're the same person or not. Of those people I can only confirm one death. The rest, I'm not sure. Some are local to us. Others are in FL where a chunk of their retired friends have moved to.
A couple of their friends that moved to FL recently are coming to town to visit and staying at my parents. I'm not wild about it and will be keeping my distance.

Yes, six of them. One friend, who is a nurse, got it early March. She was never hospitalized but did go in a couple of times with labored breathing. She fully recovered. Two other friends, and nurse and a firefighter, both diagnosed along all three of their children (aged 10-15). None were hospitalized and all fully recovered.

Yes- my in laws. MIL was moderately sick- typical flu and cough for about 10 days. FIL was very very sick. Lost 35 pounds in 3 weeks. Was in hospital for 10 days. He is still on oxygen about 8 weeks later. Gets tired very easily. May have permanent kidney damage. He wanted to die. Their friend who came to their house (during shelter in place) died from it.

Yes, I do. A good friend of mine has a sister that lives in a nursing home as she has muscular dystrophy. She’s in her late 60’s and was diagnosed with Covid a couple of months ago. She recovered beautifully! She’s in isolation at the nursing home to keep her from being exposed again.

Absolutely we know people who have had it! A couple parents from our Catholic school community, married acquaintances and their small child and a friend come immediately to mind. Only one was hospitalized, thank heavens. Everyone else was miserable for weeks but on the road to recovery.

I talked to 3 young men (early 20's) last week that have it. 2 remain symptomatic 3 weeks since 1st symptoms/positive test results. Young, healthy men that are really struggling. It can definitely impact the younger age groups.

Yes. A good friend has it and was hospitalized for two weeks. She came home on oxygen last week and was told to expect a slow recovery. We've been texting throughout her illness. One thing she said was it's been very rough and to do what I can to avoid it.

A family in my neighborhood.
I don't know him, but my husband's boss has both of his parents in the hospital with it, his FIL has it and now he thinks he has it as well. Luckily DH has been mostly working from home.

Yes, my father (89) had it and was hospitalized for about 3 weeks, but had been sick at home for almost 3 weeks prior to being hospitalized. He was on oxygen for the pneumonia caused by the virus but was never on a ventilator. When he came home from the hospital, it took another 6 weeks or so for him to be back to mostly normal (getting strength/energy back, slowly recovering sense of taste, still has not fully recovered sense of smell, possible lung damage). He lost 25 pounds in the hospital, and was so sick we weren't sure he was going to make it. Thankfully he pulled through. He was previously in good health with high blood pressure (controlled by medication) being his only underlying health condition.
I know of others that have had it, but they are not people I know personally. They were other workers in my large office building - our office was told about them because we work in the same building but they were not in our department or even in our same area of the building. Anyway, we were already working from home at that point but there was a small window of time where some people may have been in the building with them early on (before WFH) so they were contacting anyone who *might* have had contact with that office.
I'm very sorry for those that lost people in their lives to this - it's particularly difficult because there's no closure, no ability to personally comfort others who are grieving, no saying goodbye...
We take this virus very seriously and are continuing to be very careful, stay home, WFH, wear masks, etc. I see the effect it had on my father and his long road to recovery that is still ongoing to some degree. The disbelievers make me sad and angry.

Yes. Our friend's DIL, who was only 26 died from it. No real underlying conditions. A good friend's FIL died from it and another friend had it and was really, really sick, but not hospitalized for about three weeks. She's still having issues weeks later with getting winded super easy and having off and on weird symptoms that her doctor says are related. She's in her 40's. Her partner had it as well but hers was much milder.

I do. She self isolated in her shed in her backyard for a week or so. Said the fever and cough were annoying but not a big deal but the shortness of breath was quite scary. Overall she was not too sick.

Yes- 2 people (couple on their 70s) I know personally from work, one recovered, one passed away
BF's uncle who is in a nursing home - doing well, not sure if "officially" recovered
Brother's good friend- had it, was symptom free, finally got a negative test after many positive- he quarantined in his house away from wife and kids- they remained negative
Brother's co-worker - in hospital on ventilator last I heard (I've met him several times & he sold me my car)
others I know "of" BFs Girl Scout co-leader- died with covid (had multiple pre-existing conditions)
Cousin (in-law)'s mom died in a nursing home of Covid
Also heard the adult child of the couple from work has it and recovered

My husband and I have had covid and many of our friends and relatives have had it. Many of our friends attended a big party at the end of February. An official from our state health department later said this party was ground zero for the spread of covid in our state. Six people who attended the party later tested positive for covid, and many more developed covid symptoms. (At the time covid tests were in short supply in our state and only people who were sick enough to be admitted to the hospital received a covid test). A few nights after the party my husband and I attended a big wedding which was also attended by many of the people who had attended the previous party. Covid spread like crazy through our circle of friends and family.
My husband and I both tested positive for antibodies. I know at least 20 other people who have tested positive for covid antibodies. One of our friends who attended the party died of covid. (He had existing heart problems). Everyone else recovered.

Yes, he passed away from it. He was one of the first to die from it. He was not even in the covid count.
He was a good man.
