I can't imagine the allegations are false with so many women coming forward with very similar stories. I have other thoughts but I'm hard-pressed this morning to put them into words. I haven't had all my coffee yet.

the first one I thought she was looking for money - all these years later, never said anything at the time, etc,. Then Janice Dickinson, well, I have a hard time believing anything that woman says. Now I don't know. What do they get from coming forward? It is past the point where he can be prosecuted, many are asking to remain anonymous, so I assume that means no money. I just can't believe that nobody reported him to the police when it happened. Not a single one.
I feel bad for his wife.

Honestly? I'm not surprised. Just curious, why do you say that? I will say that I am surprised. And I just don't want it to be true. Guess time will tell.

They interviewed an attorney yesterday who was looking into a claim brought then (from years before, but before the statute of limitations was up) and he said that from what he heard and saw he thought that Mr. Cosby had done it, but there was not enough evidence to prosecute.

In 2006 there was a civil suit which he settled out of court. NBC reported there were 10 women who testified in that case who wanted to remain anonymous. So we're into the teens of women who all share a similar story/experience, right? You can't tell me there isn't some truth there. It sickens me. I usually don't have this type of visceral response to allegations like this, but I do this time. And I enjoyed his work. I hope these women can somehow feel justified (? Not the right word but it's early and I'm not coming up with anything else)

To me it's too many women sharing similar stories. It makes me sad. I hope the women can get some peace now that the public is "involved".

Honestly? I'm not surprised. Just curious, why do you say that? I will say that I am surprised. And I just don't want it to be true. Guess time will tell. Gut feeling, really. Hard to explain. Same with the whole Jian Ghomeshi thing. Always had a gut feeling that something was off, but didn't really know why or for what. Like with Ghomeshi, there's too many individuals for there not to be something going on. ETA: The more I think about it, it's that his niceness didn't seem real. It seemed contrived and overplayed sometimes. There are people whose initial perception is actually nice and real... never got that from Cosby.

I didn't want to believe it but now with so many women telling similar stories, it's hard not to believe it.
Makes me sad for his family and the women.

With so many women saying he is a lecherous man, I have to say he must be.
Sad for his wife and fans. I'm very disappointed as I believed his public persona.

I feel sad, disappointed, disgusted. I grew up loving Bill Cosby's public persona. It makes me feel dirty somehow knowing that while I was loving his comedy, he was preying on young women. Ick!

It makes me so, so sad. I grew up on Bill Cosby. The Cosby Kids, Fat Albert, The Cosby Show... I had his comedy albums and now most of his comedy DVDs. Like another RP, I have believed his public persona pretty much my whole life. But with so many women coming forward and all with stories so similar, I can't not begin to believe there's truth to it. Just sadness all around. L

It was the eighties. They were all impaired by drugs. I don't think any of them know what the heck went on and I don't know why it behooves anyone to talk about it now.
I just can't figure it out.
No respect for Janice Dickenson. I get the impression she will jump on any bandwagon for five more minutes of fame.

I personally never liked the guy. Is he funny yes but he does stuff for a nearby town and I get the vibe where it's like "I am here, I will save some low income youths and I am wonderful". Then he disappears again until the next year or whenever something bad happens and he wants to act like a hero.
As far as the women go, don't these allegations more times than not come out to be true. I can't say that I have read any of the articles on this though.

When I was in college in the early 80's my lab partner told me that she met BC after a show in our town. He invited her and a friend back to his hotel to continue talking. She was VERY young and naive. Once she got there he tried to put the moves on them. When she rebuffed him he called her an immature baby and said something like, "What did you think you were coming here for?"
I believe these women.

I think there is some truth to these allegations. There are too many for them to all be ignored.
But the one person I don't believe is Janice Dickinson. She's an attention whore, IMO.

Drugs or not why shouldn't they speak out? This is not the first time he has been accused. Age of the crime should not matter. It's very hard for abused women to speak out, especially against someone like Cosby.

The first article I read about Bill Cosby was Janice Dickenson accusing him of sexual assault. My first thought was 'publicity whore.' If she was the only one accusing him I wouldn't believe it. My only question is, why did these women wait until now to come forward?

I don't want to believe it, but his silence spoke volumes. I just don't understand why everyone is coming out of the woodwork 30 years later.
I,too, am curious as to what the cast of The Cosby Show is feeling/saying.
He was just in town the other night for a comedy show. His others shows are sold out. I wonder if folks are going to change their minds and not attend.
I just want to go back to when I was innocently watching Picture Pages while eating Pudding Pops.

Sexual abuse is way underreported due to the stigma. Add in the fame and money of Cosby and well honestly it doesn't surprise me.

I have been hearing these rumors for years, so I'm not surprised.
I am surprised though, at all the sympathy for his wife. She knew about all the accusations against him all these years. No way she didn't know. She stayed anyway.
I always liked him, and like everyone else, loved the Cosby show and Fat Albert cartoons growing up. Now, I'm just disgusted by him. I feel badly for all the women hurt all these years.
And yeah, re Janice Dickinson, I think she tends to be a fame ho' so who knows if she's telling the truth. It doesn't really matter though, since there are scads of other women ready to testify.
I watched Wendy Williams yesterday and she shared a story about a personal encounter she had with him years ago when she did her radio show. I guess she had a Hollywood Minute type segment on her broadcast and read one of those Enquirer stories about allegations against him. She said not sooner than she was done with that bit, her boss was calling her off the live show, into his office, and had Bill Cosby on speaker phone and he tore into her and threatened her and the radio station. She said her boss was scared of him so he backed Bill.

I think when the first allegation came about, I dismissed it as someone who was just looking for money, etc. I didn't realize how many came forward at that time which would have completely changed my opinion. I liked him in The Cosby Show, but never paid that much attention to him after the show was off the air. And I agree with what scrappower said about how it's easier to come forward when someone else came forward first. (Heck, I've seen it on L&O SVU so it must be true) I know it's true, but while I was reading her post, I remembered an episode I saw just last week.

Oh, you must mean the drugs Mr. Smarmy-ass pullover-sweater wearing America's Dad slipped them before raping them. I never drank his Koolaid, ate his Jello, or in any way fell under his spell. I've always felt there was something off with him.
