Love that is was reportedly 2 execs that escorted him out and they promptly released this statement "Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech," "The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices." Skechers is owned by a Jewish family. The Gap was founded by a Jewish family too, not sure how connected they still are, but they are another company that had ties with Kayne. Granted they had cut ties before the latest rant, but I don't think they made the decision to actually pull the.merchandise and the website until after.

I know nothing about the Gap, but ‘founded by’ and ‘owned’ by are two different things. As is ‘already having a business contract with’ vs ‘approaching a new company to gain a new business partnership.’ Many companies took too long to act, primarily because they get very nervous about anything that can be construed as censorship. Thus, the continued issue with those businesses that stream his music. Also, for those asking ‘why now’ why NOT now? Also for those who think that people are only upset because of his anti-Semitic rants, you are wrong. This entire recent episode began specifically because of his white lives matter BS at Paris Fashion Week. Google for more info. Lastly, I can only imagine the mechanical gyrations of calling a wealthy, powerful BLACK man racist.

Likely Adidas needed to consult with their legal team before dropping him, but I dont believe that it should have taken that long.

According to Wikipedia the family is still heavily involved- one of the original founders was CEO until 2004 and served on the board until his death. . “The Fisher family remains deeply involved in the company, collectively owning much of its stock.[8] Donald Fisher served as chairman of the board until 2004, playing a role in the ouster of then-CEO Millard Drexler in 2002, and remained on the board until his death on September 27, 2009. Fisher's wife and their son, Robert J. Fisher, also serve on Gap's board of directors. Robert succeeded his father as chairman in 2004 and also served as CEO on an interim basis following the resignation of Paul Pressler in 2007, before being succeeded by Glenn K. Murphy up until 2014.” I guess I didn’t understand why you posted that Sketchers is a Jewish owned company, I thought we were just sharing facts.

"Let's" start getting *this* angry about all bigotry and racism. Kanye showed his true colors years ago. Exactly, and people still did business was with him. Which anti semitic comment was one too far? Just curious. Here’s an article that summarizes what happened most recently, and which kicked off this thread: abc7.com/405-freeay-banners-antisemitic-nazi/12368248/

That you for sharing the info about the gap.

No, I understand what happened recently. My point is, this is not in any way new behavior for Kanye, so to start up new business ventures/partnerships in the last few years, only to drop them now, is disingenuous as he has been saying these awful bigoted, racist things for years. There is a list going back to at least 2018 of bigoted public statements by Kanye. Changing your name to Ye does not erase the past bigotry you’ve spouted. This is all bullshit on the part of businesses dropping him now. They were willing to look past the stuff he’s been saying for years but now it’s too much? No, now someone else held them accountable by affecting their stocks and other income. It’s like it was ok but now it’s not ok because someone else held us accountable. They accepted the racism & bigotry until someone else held them accountable.

He should have been cancelled the moment he said slavery was a choice and shit on Harriet Tubman. There's a long list of things he's done that's really shitty but companies continued to give him a platform and he continued to grow his influence. Why in the world did it take so long? EXACTLY!

I’m not familiar with the exact timeline, but is it different this time possibly because of his in-your-face followers running with it? Like the banners on the LA freeway that was covered extensively by national media? Companies might keep their fingers crossed that it will blow over if it’s one person [who makes them tons of $$]. But when national news shines a spotlight on and the conversation blows up, it it’s not so easy. And it’s still being covered—opinion piece and another in The Washington Post.

It looks like Peleton pulled his music from any playlists from their routines. I swear I saw Apple Music pulled playlists too, but I cant find that AT ALL now.

I know absolutely nothing about his Donda school (off to Google after I post this) but it has been closed effective immediately. It's reported to be back open again, or at least the basketball team is still practicing. From what I can see, the school's primary purpose is to field an elite prep league high school boys basketball team. It looks like most of the tournaments they were scheduled to play in have rescinded the invitations and coaches are actively recruiting the players. Donda Academy Basketball Team
