Still no news. We have spread the word far and wide, vet clinics, pet stores, so many pet boards on facebook, our neighborhood board, rescues, local SPCA. DH put the posters back up yesterday and they are gone again today. I guess we are very co-dependant on our cats, as we are all a big mess, not sleeping worth crap and I am barely eating. We are really struggling to start to move on. Ok. This is crossing the line. Someone has taken down the posters, twice ?? Can you put one near your house if you have a security camera. Or put one near a camera. Please be gentle with yourself. It’s totally understandable that you are upset Your cats are part of your family. You love them and they love you. Cats don’t usually go very far. Check under everything in near by houses. Sending love to you. 🩷

My cat was ultimately caught with a live trap, too. Could you leave it under some trees or bushes that way she'd be safe from the elements until you could check it? If there is food and water in it, she would be okay for awhile.

I would also follow through and offer a reward. I hope you get your girl back!

I would keep checking the animal shelter. We had a feral outdoor cat that was "ours", waited for her meals, etc. Until she wasn't there. We went to the animal shelter and she was there. Brought her back home. Found out our backdoor "neighbor" had trapped her. The story was that she was old and was a crazy cat lady. Her grown kids put traps outside so that she wouldn't have more cats.
We had a Ragdoll; they are sweet and beautiful. Any chance that one is listed "for sale" and that someone took her and is now trying to sell her?

Aww, I'm so sorry. I understand the distress. I hope you find her soon. I have read crazy stories on Nextdoor of people whose cats come back like 3 weeks later, so don't give up hope.
Not sure if it's a thing in your area, but try Pawboost also.
Do you have reason to believe someone would take the cat? I always find most ppl (even some owners) are not all that concerned about cats and their survival.

I am codependent on my animals too. I have/would be in the same state as you are. My animals are my life. Keeping a found animal that does have a home is felony in many states. If you are able to found out who took her if they do not give her back you can file charges. You need proof of ownership- microchip, adoption papers, bill of sale, photo's dated with her time with you, etc... This is covered on the pet Reddits if you need more help. I am thinking a little girl found her and wants to keep the cute precious cat. Probably gave her Mom a sob story. She is taking the signs down so Mom won't find out. I am not telling you to file charges on a child. Are you active on your neighborhood web site, city reddit, facebook? Let your neighbor's know signs are being taken down, and this hopefully will bring attention to the parent whose child might have taken your cat. They will return her. I understand this is a possible scenario. I have heard so many stories in my own neighborhood of this happening. I am crossing my fingers this is what happened to your baby.

Do you live in a neighborhood with an HOA? one that might prohibit the posting of flyers? Perhaps it's a self-appointed rule enforcer taking down the poster and not someone who took the kitty.
I've been in your shoes and know how scary it is when your little fluffy friend can't be found. Mine did turn up; I recruited a neighbor's child to help hunt, and she found him a couple days later hiding beneath a car.

This is what I was going to suggest as well. Post the photo online everywhere. We didn’t want our cats to be outside cats, but we lived with my mom for a year while they were super young and they “accidentally” got let out and were roaming the yard with her indoor/outdoor cat when we drove up. Ever since then they loved the outside so we started taking them on walks. Okay, they walked us and we’re a PITA to get home every night! The smallest dog harnesses (not collars) fit them well. You should have seen the looks we got But they loved every second of it. It’s good that she’s used to being out in the yard with your DH, I hope your baby finds her way home soon.

DH took Cagney in the cat stroller yesterday and they walked all around the neighborhood several times. We will just keep walking the neighborhood, hoping she comes home. My poor little punk. Our cats are strange little creatures that when DH is home, they are with us and interacting the whole time, in everything we do. Slightly less so when I am here by myself, as I work from home and I am just furniture. To say we miss her is an understatement. Thanks for the positive thoughts. The not knowing is the worst. You have a cat stroller? You’re my kind of people! ETA: If your DH is her person I’d put out clothes and/or a blanket that he’s worn, snuggled in, layer out like a bed. We always did that with a blanket we used when they had to stay at an animal hospital and it brought them a lot of comfort.

A posting about her being missing has been cast far and wide on Facebook. Also at pet stores, vets offices, rescues.
Yes, we have a giant pet stroller. Our cats are very spoiled.

Third day of posters disappearing, no HOA or city employees. Everyone we talk to is shocked that they are disappearing. Not something that happens around here.
DH is putting up posters and is going to watch the one close to our house, starting early in the morning. This has taken a level of crazy.

It really sounds like the person who has taken in your cat is also taking down the posters.

That’s what we think, too. DH is sitting right now, watching the poster across the street, as yesterday, the poster disappeared pretty early.
This is so crazy.

Now, initially I was invested in you getting your cat back. Now I want to make sure the poster taker is gotten!
Seriously, I hope you find your cat very soon!!

ooh, I hope you find her soon!! If they've never been separated from each other and her brother is distressed, maybe you could use that to help find her? Put him in a carrier and either walk through the neighborhood with him, or drive slowly in the car, window(s) down, with him? If he's yowling / upset in the carrier perhaps she will hear him, recognize his voice, and come out, if she's hiding within earshot. Hey, crimsoncat05, nice to see you! 😀

My little girl cat goes wandering off, sometimes for 3 or 4 nights but she comes back and it's her choice, not someone taking her. I understand your worry as, even though I know mine takes off and comes back, I still worry about her. The poster removal is bizarre and my initial thought was that it was a neighbourhood busy body who was enforcing some rule but I really hope your husband gets to the bottom of it.

Checking in - I was hoping to see several pages of "Thank God she's found" posts, but not yet. Did DH manage to ID the poster thief?

I'm a cat person, too, so I totally understand your families grief at your cat being missing. I hope she comes home soon.
Reading further and seeing your posters are being taken down. I agree that whoever has your cat is taking them down. I hope your DH's vigilance will pay off in catching them.

Of course, since DH was watching, all the posters stayed up today. Can you set up a camera? I haven't read the whole thread, but remember how sick I felt when my cat disappeared for a short amount of time. I hope yours returns soon. Can you set an alert on the chip? I don't know if that is a thing or not.
