I screamed and teared up. I am so happy and relieved you found her. I am so glad nobody took her. She is a beauty and well loved. She looks happy to be home. I agree kitty house arrest.

People on the street where she had been seen were watching for her on their security camera and watching the trap. DH picked it up after work and brought it home. He wasn’t sure he wanted to put it back out but these very kind people said they were happy to watch the trap. So we ate, watched a bit of TV, DH fell asleep for a while. Then he thought he’d put a different blanket and some fresh food and take the trap back. It’s several blocks away. He set it up then drove around the block, through the alley and back to this house. And there she was, heading to the trap. She went in and it finally snapped shut. 8:25 pm, DH phoned me that he had her. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. It helped so much. She’s skinny and a little dirty but not bad. She ate and drank and curled up on her spot. Although she did think she wanted out onto the deck. Um, no, she is on house arrest for a bit. I’ll phone the vet and get her checked out asap. We just sat there watching her for a long while, she does not like to be held. She’s home and our world can go back to normal. That was the longest 10 days of my life. Happy Thanksgiving ❤️

I'm so happy she is home! DD has a cat and she is so happy her cat HATES the outdoors, one less worry for dd. Though she would love to take him for walks.
Your cat is beautiful, I hope she stays where she belongs from now on!

I've been watching this thread. I'm so happy your cat is home! My cat only ever got out for a night here and there and I was a wreck every time. I hope now you and DH can get some good sleep and enjoy your babies.

So glad she’s back home. Don’t you wish she could tell you of her adventures?
We have one that loves being outside and usually goes out at 6 am and then in and out the rest of the day until bedtime. Sometimes she will stay out all night during the warmer months and then we worry until we see her the next day. She wants to be out and cries at the door until we let her out. It’s so pathetic someone gives in. We know there’s a chance she won’t come back but she loves it outside and it’s not fair to force her to stay in because of our fears. One of our others is a Manx and she likes the idea of outside but hustles back in pretty quick and never leaves the yard. My old man cat only goes out of the door stays open and I’m outside. He will not go out if I’m not outside with him.

Amazing news, wallyagain! They really are wonderfully resilient creatures. As I told you, ours survived in the wild in -40 weather--no idea how. Would be interesting to know all of her adventures. Wonder how many of her nine lives she spent?

Yay! I don’t know if you will ever allow her out again but they sell GPS collars. My daughter has them for her 2 cats. One is a big wanderer. One time she saw that he was out and hadn’t moved in hours. (She wasn’t home and her fiancé didn’t have the app to see where he was). He had somehow gotten into someone’s basement egress and couldn’t get out, she was able to pinpoint exactly where he was and rescue him.
