I found the Enchanted Forest at my Michaels yesterday. They didn't have it when I was there last week. So I would keep checking.
ETA: Awesome, 8 pages on coloring books!!

Where in Michaels did you find it? I was walking all around for books and couldn't find any. I saw kids coloring stuff with all the Crayola things, but that was it.

I found it in my Michaels up near the registers in the front of the store. They have some regular craft books, but also coloring books. I glanced at it and then it registered what it was and I grabbed it.

OMG I started coloring my Secret Garden book and it's awesome but I think I'm going to go blind! The designs are sooo intricate. And I need to figure out how to get my pencils super sharp.

Darn, you guys, I always go so overboard when it comes to these posts. Ok, so I had some good pencils and felt tip pens from my scrapbooking days, but of course I needed more so I ordered more pencils and gel tip pens. Of course I went overboard in the coloring books, I ordered about 4 with Secret Garden on back order. THEN...since I am always in my recliner, I had to order a lap type desk to color on...then I realized I didn't have proper lighting, so I had to order a clip on desk light so I could see. Ugh.
Got everything but the light, that's coming Monday. I love coloring though. So relaxing. I practiced with pages I wasn't real fond of just to get used to what technique I liked best. But there is no right or wrong way, it's just so calming. I love it!!!!
So even though I went a little overboard with more pens, coloring books, lap desk and light, thank you once again for being the enablers that you are.

I am so thankful I did not get the Secret Garden book. I got the postcards, and the designs are terribly intricate and small. I have trouble seeing them even with my progressive lenses. I am so thankful I got different coloring books for that reason. And spitfiregirl, I have been using Copics for years and have been to their designer certification class. I would not use my Copics on this. The paper for one would just soak up the color. And I think it would be really hard to blend. I have not tried it but from knowing how they work, I would not even try it in my coloring books.

Because of this thread I ordered Secret Garden from B&N a couple weeks ago. Then I went to a scrap retreat last weekend and my friend GAVE me the same book! She had told me at Christmas she bought some coloring books at Michaels on a whim, and it turns out she'd bought an extra fso she could surprise me on our retreat. I didn't have the heart to tell her I already had one, lol!

I am a librarian/ gifted teacher at a HS. This is a particularly stressful time of the year. I ran off a few of the free coloring pages found online and put out a big box of colored pencils in one of my maker spaces. The kids are coloring like crazy and have found it to be such a relaxing stress reliever. I've even had a couple of teachers sit down and start coloring on their breaks. One more reason I love this place! (PS.. I'm home sick today with a horrible cold and I plan on spending a bit of time coloring this afternoon.)

I've read the whole thread and love how everyone likes to color! It was my favorite thing to do as a child. I also love to skip, but feel kind of foolish doing that as an adult! LOL I was in Joann's yesterday and they didn't have too many books, but I did pick up the one called POSH. I'm a stamper too, so sometimes I stamp off images to color while I watch TV.
I had bought the Prismacolor pencils a few years ago, so will probably use those of the markers I already own.
Have fun coloring!

Funny note, I was out shopping with a friend a couple of days ago and one of these books (The Enchanted Forest one) was in the window of the bookshop. I was telling my friend that these colouring books seem to be really popular right now and I just made a passing comment about how I could do some colouring while listening to my audiobooks (although I wasn't totally serious). Yesterday was my birthday and guess what she got me?...lol.
I know I have an old set of 72 Derwent pencils somewhere - I think they are in the garage at my mother's, so now I'll have to dig them out. Not sure that I'll be into colouring - we had an anatomy colouring book when I was at nursing school and I got bored with that. but I'll give it a go and see what I think.

I was out with DD (22) today and we both bought a colouring book from M's. I got "magic garden" and she picked up a mandala book. I also grabbed the staedtler fineliners. We are now relaxing on the daybed in the craft room colouring with both our dogs cuddled up next to us. A little crowded but absolutely wonderful! Thank you Peas! these are moments to treasure.

The fancy toy store in our town has these if anyone is struggling to find them.
The brands Mindware and Usborne have similar ones that are color by number. They make great tween/teen gifts as they are a bit more whimsy with animals ect.
After reading this all this I caved and got myself one too. Off to hunt for good pencils today.

The BARRON'S Magic Garden Fantastic Flowers to Color I picked up at Michaels has fairly thick paper with images front and back. I'm using the Staedtler Triplus 0.3 mm fine-liners and I haven't had any bleed thru yet. I do use a light touch but the colours are still full and vibrant. I have ordered the Enchanted Forest book from Indigo but no sign of it yet. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference in paper quality.
