Let's not forget these painful toys...Klick Klacks I attended a rural elementary school, and Klackers were outlawed after someone took out a bus window with theirs.

I didn't like Barbie. I had one, and gave her away to a needy child. Instead, I had Strawberry Shortcake dolls, 2 Cabbage Patch dolls (Edwina and Dunkin David) and Smurfs. ETA: Looks like I was the only one.

disneypal- I just took a peek at your 70's pinterest board and saw the Freakies Cereal! I distinctly remember getting to eat that cereal for breakfast once when my mom was in the hospital and friends brought meals over to the house for us. We never got to eat sweet cereal (just plain old cheerios, wheaties or oatmeal, maybe raisin bran once in a while), so those Freakies were a real treat for us kids! Our box had a refrigerator magnet in it for the prize. I haven't thought about that in ages!

I must be a bit of a hoarder, as I still have my original Light Bright and Spirograph. We had the best stuff back then, didn't we?

I was born in the late 70s so I have a Pinterest board of the 80s and 90s. started it fro a class I was taking at Big Picture Scrapbooking. Some things would be from the 70s, since my mom still has a few of the items today! Love that there is Google and we can see all the things we had/wanted/saw on tv so many I had forgotten about.

Here are some tv shows from way back when:
The Partridge Family The Brady Bunch That Girl The Flying Nun Bewitched Family Affair Good Times Emergency All In The Family The Mary Tyler Moore Show The Carol Burnette Show Little House On The Prairie
There are many more. These are some I thought of off the top of my head. I also had the Barbie Country Camper and a Malibu Barbie. I loved the Spirograph. And we had marbles everywhere when we would dig out the Aggravation game.

I was born in 1977 so don't remember the 70's much but your pencils reminded me of something. One birthday a family friend ordered me pencils with my name on them. The company couldn't engrave them with double letters so the friend had them spell my name wrong. So growing up I had a supply of pencils with my name spelled wrong. I think I was happy when they were used up! I also really liked my Fisher Price little people and have found some at garage sales and Goodwill for my kids. They play with them sometimes but not like I did. I forgot to add I now live in a 1970's house so I live the 70s and burnt orange carpet and ugly linoleum every day I got some personalized pencils once. I still have most of them because they were too special to use. I remember a boy stealing one of them and he tried to deny that it was mine. Hello, it had my full name on it. I love vintage Fisher Price Little People. I collect them.

I loved the cookies in the 70s that were molasses and round, and had white "frosting" and dark brown stripes on the frosting. I don't remember what they were called.

I know many of you here grew up in the 70's as did I. I think we had some very cool things back then! I've always been kind of stuck in the 70's state of mind. I will admit to 'saving' a lot of things from my childhood just because they brought me joy back then. For example, my Barbies and their gear like the Country Camper. Lots of dolls too. I had some really groovy pencils in elementary school, and I can't find them to buy anywhere. I am not even sure WHY I want to have them, except they bring back good memories. I did find a picture of them so maybe that will be enough, lol. What cool 70's kid stuff do you remember fondly? Toys, food, fashions, shampoo, activities, TV shows, whatever... Oh, here are the pencils: You can make those pencils yourself. I've made some, because like you, I really like them. You use the same technique as marbeling paper. You just have to remember to use a deep enough container.

My BFF had Beauty Secrets Barbie. I had to play with it whenever I visited her. Remember buying a bottle of soda and having to pop the top off with the little metal piece on the soda dispense machine?

The best shampoo was Herbal Essence and it was emerald green and came in a clear bottle! Loved that stuff! We had this shampoo that we bought from the beauty salon called Apple Pectin, it smelled so good. My friend across the street had a shampoo Miss Clairol and I loved the way it smelled too. Would love to have both scents in shampoo again. My hair smelled great when I was in elementary school!

The 70's were so cool, I still love 70's music! Some toys I remember: I couldn't wait to grow up so I could buy lots of Hash jeans, and a brown Camaro In my mind, that Camaro was the color of a Root Beer Barrel candy. My cousin had that Camaro and it was sweet.

Let's not forget these painful toys...Klick Klacks We were masters of the Klick Klacks. Here's a what the heck were they thinking thing: In the 80's, a tequila company was giving them away with their name on them, as an advertising promotion. Can you just imagine a group of people sitting around drinking tequilla passing around a Klick Klack?

The shorter the better. Remember the pants suit? The top was longer, just below the buttocks. I once wore the top as a dress. WTH was I thinking?

Swap cards were hugely popular with girls back in the 70's when I was in primary school.
I was a bit of a tomboy, so I was more interested in collecting Football cards. Back then they came in a pack of about 6 or 8 with a stick of bubblegum. There was a part of a picture on the back of each card, so if you collected the whole set (every player from every club) you could put it together like a jigsaw.

Graduated in 1979 so I am definitely a 70's girl! Klick-Klacks? I've never heard them called that. We called them Klackers. I absolutely adore watching That 70's Show. I dressed like Jackie and my high school boyfriend looked a lot like Steven <swoon>

I loved how the icing crunched. As as far as the Barbie case, I can remember that smell. Yeah, weird I know.

Remember the yellow upside down buckets with lime green strings, you out your foot on the bucket and used the green strings to hold and walked around. I don't know what they were really called, but we called them romper stompers. Roller skates that looked like tennis shoes were the big thing for cruising the neighborhood, of course at night we played kick the can and ghost in the graveyard. Fashion Plates were super fun too, and I think those are back! My cabbage patch doll was named Corey Fred and he was sporting a stylish pink corduroy two piece outfit.

I had to laugh at this picture from disneypal 's board. Good idea, but you had to wait another 20 years for actual cup holders to become commonplace! ETA: LOL at David Holmes, disneypal! I was at the airport a few months ago and they paged David Holmes over and over again. He finally came to the gate and I was all excited. However, he appeared to be of Indian decent and of the wrong age to be our David Holmes. The mystery lives on!

Do you all remember Tuesday Taylor? She was a Barbie-like doll with brunette and blonde hair. You twisted the top of her head to change hair colors. I had her and tons of other Barbies. I also had a beloved Mrs. Beasley doll from Family Affair. My brother tossed her into our little plastic pool and she got waterlogged and moldy.
