I love seeing all of these! I had a Give-A-Show-Projector, an EZ Bake (of course) and a Tammy as well as a Barbie. When I was older, I loved wearing Heaven Sent and Charlie colognes. And definitely Herbal Essence, hip hugger bell bottoms and halter tops with the triangle bottom front. Love's Baby Soft all the way for me. And Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers.

One of my prized possessions to this day is my Wham-O Glow In The Dark Magic Window. It had pink and yellowish sand. The yellowish sand glowed in the dark. I still have it and as ridiculous as this sounds, once in a while I still play with it, lol.
My favorite shampoo was Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific! A few years ago I ordered some of it from eBay and it was shipped from another country. I used it sparingly but LOVED the scent just as much as I did back when.

I remember all this stuff. And to you lucky girls who got the Sunshine Family Van, I'm so jealous! I remember wanting that so bad for Christmas one year but my mom thought I was too "old" for it. And yes, they do look creepy now!
I remember as a kid playing with this plastic sheet you stuck to your tv screen. There would be a show that would come on and you would use your crayon to help the t.v. character do things like cross a bridge (you filled it in). Does anyone remember this or did I make this up?
Growing up by the beach I was easily seduced by the Ban de Soleil commercial with the lady in the black swimsuit coming out of the pool. Orange gelee #4 all the way. Drank Tab and used Sun-In to try to lighten my hair.
Does anyone remember those ads in the back of magazines where you mailed in something like a dollar or two and you got a box of products (like eye shadow, lip gloss, etc?)? There were a million of them.

I used Herbal Essence and Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific shampoos. Loved the Spirograph too. I had a 2 headed troll doll. And the coolest eye shadow was LOVE cosmetics eyeshadow in an eyeball container. We ate at the Shoney's Big Boy with curb service. I had some "hot pants" shorts and a top with a nehru collar.

Monica** - the show on weekdays using the plastic screen to help the elf-like character was called "Winky Dink." My mom wouldn't let me put a crayon anywhere near my tv set, but I watched anyway. There were also shows on Saturdays called "HR Puffenstuff" and the "Banana Splits Gang" that I couldn't watch because I went to religious instruction.

I think I had a crush on the guy from HR Puffenstuff too. I also remember a show with a bunch of oversized hat characters. I'm not good at remembering names of things, but the images are burned into my brain.

I was born in 1961 and graduated high school in 1979! I still have my LiteBrite, my Barbie house and Thumbelina doll. DH has his original GI Joe in the box! It has this short rough hair!! LOL! I loved Little Kiddles too! And my Chrissy and Kerry dolls with the growing hair! And Baby Secret when I was young. You pulled her string and she whispered to you. Banana seat bikes!! My brother had a VacUForm that got super hot and made these rubbery creatures. I laugh now at how many times we burned ourselves on it! I loved watching The Love Boat and the original Fantasy Island when I was in 8th-9th grade! Remember the BIG Lip Smackers? They were like a inch wide! And the little tins of Village Lip Balms. Lemon Up Shampoo. Jontue perfume. Jeans with rainbow embroidery on them. The ponytail ties shown above with the red and white clear balls....my mom always called those "cherries". She would say to be "get your cherries and I will do your ponytails". I loved reading the Bobbsey Twins books! Cabbage Patch dolls didn't come out until around 1977 or 78 so i didn't get into those since I was in high school. I can't believe no one has mentioned EARTH SHOES! The ultimate shoe for the late 70's high schooler!! LOLOL I had these too: My uncle was HORRIFIED that my mother got me these when I was 13!!

Oh yeah, my sister had Earth shoes. And the white go go boots -- I wore those in high school with my drill team outfit. I thought I was pretty darn cool.

I also wore these: I wanted to wear those, but I have super thick hair and they wouldn't snap closed.

I had those 'far out" pencils too! I called them my tie-dyed pencils. I have a whole board on Pinterest dedicated to my 70s ChildhoodRemember putting the Frito Bandito eraser on your pencil?

I found these pictures of my gifts and my sisters from Christmas, probably late 70s or so. I searched your Benji and pinned the less thrashed one I found!

One thing I have never been able to find online, despite searching Pinterest and ebay many many times is something our school sold, maybe as a fundraiser or something. They were an amber/yellow piece of plastic in different designs. About the size of a child's palm. Flat, but puffy, like the puffy stickers. They were attached to a yellow elastic cord and you hung them on your jacket zipper. I think they were called Danglers, or Dangles, or something like that. Nobody I have ever talked to about 'good old 70's stuff' remembers them either. Anyone? Also, is is just me or is anyone else a bit creeped out when looking through the Pinterest boards of this kind and coming across the Bill Cosby Jello-Pops photos? LOL I think they were Dingles. They were reflective. I had a bunch. They MIGHT still be in a nightstand drawer at my mom's house. Had not thought about those for years.

What about the line of shampoo in the 80's that was scented after popular perfumes? I remember Giorgio, and others.
I wanted a Cabbage Patch doll so badly, but they were out of my mom's price range. My cousin had a billion Barbies, but I had a fake Barbie. I did like Smurf things. I had the Smurf lunch box, and collected trading cards.

I was barely a child of the 70's, but the youngest of 5. So, I remember the Holly Hobbie Stove, Barbie Fashion Plates, Tupperware shape toy and toy dishes, Fisher Price Little People school, inflatable barbie furniture, skates you attached to your regular shoes.
@skellinton, I forgot about the barber shop!
I don't remember the Sunshine family, but they look scary as hell! They look like they belong in a cult.
Spirograph made it's way into the 80's. I wanted one soooo bad! I also didn't realize Cabbage Patch Kids were part of the 70's too.

Love this thread! I remember playing with a Lindsey Wagner Bionic Woman doll, a Tuesday Taylor doll where you coul spin her scalp and change her from a blonde to a brunette and a Skipper doll. I think she was Barbie's little sister, but what I remember was that you could spin one of her arms and she would instantly grow little boobies. I was fascinated and wondered why my body didn't do the same thing when I spun my arm. Thanks for the fun memories!

I was fascinated and wondered why my body didn't do the same thing when I spun my arm. Thanks for the fun memories! Before I got Tuesday Taylor, I got a much larger version called Tiffany Taylor. She had a gold swimsuit with a bright green wrap thingy for a skirt and she had the most beautiful eyelashes! Her scalp spun around to be blonde or brunette. After Tuesday Taylor, there was Suntan Tuesday Taylor. Her skin would actually 'tan' in the light, how, I don't know. SHE had the most beautiful caftan of orange and yellow. I always wanted a 'dress' like hers in real life. I still, of course, have all of them in the basement.

Oh my gosh, what a fun post! I loved my Colorforms too (I think I still have my Little House on the Prairie one), Barbie jeep and horse trailer, Barbie Grand Piano, Lite Brite, Fashion Plates...so many great toys! In third grade my teacher used to give us these little round puffy stickers on our papers - they were about the size of your fingertip with fun designs on them. I saved them for years and eventually threw them away. Wish I still had them (not really sure WHY, lol)
ETA: Strawberry Shortcake, loved those dolls! And My Little Ponies, and I had a TON of Fisher Price stuff. The hospital, the A-Frame house, the camper, the garage.

Oh, this is bringing back so many memories!
My grandma used to buy dolls for my cousins and me from the back of Blue Bonnet margarine boxes. I think you had to send in the box tops. We got to choose the dolls we wanted - there were dozens of them. Some were historical - I remember getting Martha Washington - and others were just in different pretty dresses. They were about 6 or 8" tall and plastic.
