Only in the Peadom would armpit hair rage on for multiple days and nearly 10 pages. I'm feeling left out so here are my $0.02:
I find armpit hair to be gross, on women or men. Yes it's a double standard that only women are encouraged to shave them. I admit that I get lazy and despite my very own views, the pit area gets a bit furry during the cold months. I do not like myself for allowing this but my lazy side wins out over my persnickety side.
I 100% believe the furry times equate to smellier times if proper precautions aren't followed. I'm not so lazy though that forget to use deodorant daily.
Here's hoping I push this to page #10.

Regardless of the brides feelings about pit hair, she will need to tread carefully, otherwise the conversation will be "Remember the time your first wife told sis to shave her pits?"
I don't have strong feeling either way about shaving or not. Personally I think you should do what you prefer. But does unchecked pit hair grow down to your elbows or something? I imagined it would be like men and max out at a couple inches long. Am I missing something?
I don't recall the bridesmaids holding their arms up over their heads in any ceremony I've ever attended. I just don't see how it is going to be *that* noticeable. If it is elbow length or something maybe the bride could just suggest braiding it or putting it into a little armpit bun for the day. Maybe with some babies breath worked in to match the ladies hairdos.

I wouldn't care if my bridesmaid had arm pit hair. I would just photoshop it out if it bugged me that much. the notion of brides wanting "perfect" weddings bug me anyway. shit happens and armpit hair is not going to make or break the "perfection" of that day. attitude does.

Wow. Name calling over pit hair? And I thought I was taking it a little 'personally' because I found the mother a bit controlling. I really felt the whole this was a way for her to assert some control on her DD using the wedding as an excuse to make her DD conform to what she wanted. And I'm like you go bridesmaid girl, you go. You stand up for yourself. Lol I had no idea this would divert so far from a civil conversation! But, I'm not surprised.

I would probably not ask someone to be a bridesmaid if I had my heart set on sleeveless dresses and she was someone who didn't shave her armpits. To be honest, I probably would not have picked sleeveless to begin with. Some women are self-conscious of their upper arms. And this is why I did not have bridesmaids.

I hope so too! Not because I care so passionately about this topic, but because I think to be a "gate' the minimum number of pages is 10. I don't know if that's written down anywhere, but that's what I think. I've waited 15 years for a "gate!" In my dreams, it was about something more meaningful, but I'll take it.

Actually, it's so close that if it doesn't happen organically, I'm going to see if I can lure MyMindsEyePea over here to engage with me about the duodenum of polaris or whatever; and that should easily knock off a few more pages

I despise the word 'pit'. 'Arm pit' is not much better. 'Pit hair' sends me over the edge. Phrases like 'shave your pits' just make me cringe. I can't believe I even opened the thread. Nine pages in, are we able to change it to 'underarm'? Underarm hair. That's so much nicer sounding. ETA -

Maybe Dear Abby can send get us a pic of said sil? I really need to see these offensive bushes under this gals pits. I don't shave from Sept to May. I never knew I was a savage! I smell pretty nice as I shower, with shower gel, use deo, and use bath & body works products. Unless someone has X-ray vision they would never know about my disgusting hygiene. And truth be told, even in sleeveless months I'm not a daily shaver. Oh well, "sew" me.

I am highly amused by how passionate the Peas are over armpit hair. If we all turned our passion to something more, er, meaningful, perhaps we could end world hunger or bring peace to the world. ETA: Sorry I couldn't make this topic acheive 10 page status.

Maybe laser hair removal should be a Bridesmaid gift My husband and I BOTH had it done on our underarms (and various other areas). We both prefer it the look AND feel. While I much prefer to not see an overgrowth of stinky fluff coming out of men's (or women's!) armpits, it's not because society has impressed upon me unreasonable beauty standards. It's a personal preference -- PREFERENCE. *MY* preference.

No comments on the subject under discussion but the thread is still on page 9 so I thought I'd better add something to help in the quest for page 10!

I always suspected I suck at the female thing (I pretty much watch only action films/T.V, live & breath sports), now here's the ugly truth. If I promise I don't smell, can I keep my female card? Or is only Hilary allowed to use that? (There OP, I threw in some politics to keep this going. If you want 20 pages of infamy, figure out how to add in Tom Brady & deflated balls!)

Thanks, Melly! Would you consider stating that you intend to vote for Trump? That is a step way, way too far for me, sorry. I feel a pox upon my house to even joke with that thought. Possibly that will help? Someone can come tear me a new one for thinking that way.

My son came upstairs to ask me about dinner. He was sporting a tuft of pit hair that was seeping out of his pits. I pulled it and thought of you all. He told me he was not afraid to hit an old lady. I love that kid.
