link The 11 Judge Panel 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals said today people do not have the right to carry concealed weapons in public under the 2nd Amendment. They said law enforcement officials can require applicants for a concealed weapons permits to show they are in immediate danger or have another good reason for a permit beyond self-defense. Wow! This will end up in the Supreme Court. So I'm going to make my version of a PSA to Democrats including Bernie Sanders supporters. This ruling is one reason why it's important to come together and make sure Hillary becomes president. Supreme Court appointments.

I don't understand why concealed carrying is a problem. So now they open carry. Does that make you feel better?

He was a daily customer so I would see him once a week when I filled up with gas lol. I don't think this will be upheld because you run into severe constitutional issues. It says right to keep and bear arms. If you take away concealed, you only leave open carry. But I guess the point of the OP is that this could be the way to strike down the ability for the average joe to carry period. Im just guessing though, I could be wrong.

Yep, they want to take away our right to carry at all. With or without it I'll have a weapon. Always.

Maybe instead of trying to get caught up in a battle over concealed or open carry, or using this as a means to try and strike down the ability for the average joe to carry, maybe the Democrats could come up with some common sense regulations designed to make it harder for stupid, crazy, or violent people to own guns?

I agree, but it seems that the only thing happening is more laws on the books for people who HAVEN'T done anything wrong. And no law or restriction is going to work for a criminal who doesn't follow them. And the "let's take them away from everyone so the criminals can't get them" will NEVER work. Can't be done. They'll get them imported or from other countries. Weapons will always be around, and we need them in the hands of the good guys not just the bad guys.
ETA: I'm looking for a new range bag. Any recommendations?

Slippery slope and all.

They laugh at laws and continue to break them. You have to get to the criminal, not the law abiding citizen.

maybe there should be additional charges/time added to every sentence where the criminal used a gun? Mandatory sentences, not optional. Fines? Something that penalizes the person using the guns illegally/irresponsibly.......instead of making it harder for those of us who follow the law.

Serious background checks , giving the right to health professional to call the police if they feel that one of their patient is a danger for society or for him self , gun related safety courses Would be a start

Sometime instead of achieving your goal by going head on through the front door you're forced to go around to the backdoor to achieve the goal of raining in the craziness of guns and gun ownership. This law is a way to stop "stupid, crazy, or violent people" from taking their guns out in the public on a whim. Just like the lawsuit filed by the Sandy Hook parents against the manufacturer of the assault rifle used to kill their children. It's to stop manufacturers from selling military type guns to the general public. Since apparently manufactures are smart enough to understand they probably shouldn't sell military type rifles to the public. The key words here are "military type". Thanks to the NRA you take what you can get. Note "raining in" not "eliminate". There is a difference.

Note that there is a difference between "raining" "reining" and "reigning"

This law means nothing to them. And I don't want to be relegated to a dinky firearm with little fire power. When I say defense, I mean it.

This law is a way to stop "stupid, crazy, or violent people" from taking their guns out in the public on a whim. I disagree. I think this law could slow the idiot who always takes his gun with him and gets irrationally pissed off about something and shoots someone, but I don't think it stops any stupid, crazy, or violent person from doing it on a whim. If you are doing it on a whim, you are not caring about the law.

I am SO glad that all of the criminals I know subscribe to 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals Daily so they can stay up to date on what is legal and what is illegal. I heard that the Bloods and Crips even organized a phone chain so that they could let everyone know.

Who else would be dumb enough to think that was a good idea? California.

If you are doing it on a whim, you are not caring about the law. The reality is, with very few exceptions, there is no reason for anyone to take their guns out in public. Way too many take their guns out in public because they want to be a "big deal" as my dad use to say. You are correct if this law stands there are those wanting to be that "big deal" will break the law. But there are those who will follow the law if they have no specific threat that would necessitate them carrying a gun out in public. Which would mean less guns out in public and less mishaps.
