I think you're fooling yourself if you really believe that. A Trump win would be a disaster. The worst the world has seen in many, many years.

No, I don't agree. If you have a president that makes a point of insulting other countries and other cultures routinely on the world stage then all of you as Americans will become potential targets. Terrorism around the globe is bad enough when we've got reasonable, calm people at the helm, put a loose cannon like Trump up and you can just sit back and wait for another 9-11. If you have a guy that can't keep his cool or hold his tongue in major world trade negotiations then you will also suffer economically. You could all be paying (financially) for this mistake for decades to come to undo the damage this man could (probably will) do. He will not move your country forward...only backwards.

I'm trying to tell myself that the world isn't going to end, but I honestly don't believe it. I think if he wins, things will start already tomorrow with the markets crashing. He won't be able to just sit and wait for his turn to be president, we will hear from him daily.

Unfortunately, i agree with this. I normally wouldn't hold voters responsible for the choices that the president makes but in this case I would. It is so easy to foresee what would happen and I for one would hold that on those who voted for him.

I wish I believed that, but the fact so many can vote for Trump truly makes me think less of my fellow countrymen and women. I could always respect those with different views but this time I just can't seem to.

I disagree. If Trump wins I'm picturing something similar to Brexit only worse.

If Trump wins I'm picturing something similar to Brexit only worse I agree. I was saying to someone the other day, if he actually gets in, it won't be long before the American people regret what they've done and it's going to take them a couple of years and millions of dollars to get rid of him again. Buyer's remorse, when the reality hits is going to be huge.

I keep telling myself that we'll be okay, our government is set up so one person can't make all the decisions. But I'm still scared...

No, I don't think everything is going to be okay.
I'm just sitting here thinking of:
My LBGTQ friends (I have a lot and my boss is gay). What this election means to them--how very important it is, that one of my very best friends could lose rights to his adopted son if gay marriage is repealed. How it affects their lives being treated like they are perverted deviants and being refused service because they are gay.
My heart is bleeding for them right now. I'm sick over the thought.

I'm petrified of Trump. I'm scared he will destroy us. I honestly think he will cause something that will be compared to the great depression in history books. Or another civil war. Look at how divided we are. This is not going to end well.

But many people didn't so it's really false comfort. as much as I disagreed with GWB, I never doubted HE thought he was doing good for the country Even candidates I did not like, I think they had the country in their heart. Trump? He's doing it for himself.

Yeah, no. I am not going about pretending to be oblivious.
Many people MAY NOT be okay. Many may be deported. Many may lose their civil rights... etc, etc. How naive and very selfish of you. Shows how much you (don't) care about humanity. You and I may be okay, but many will not. 😣

I need to keep reminding myself that DH deals with his stress by talking about it. So while I'm trying to deal with my stress by watching something humorous on tv, DH keeps checking the results and giving me updates. And he keeps saying the wrong name for who got which state, so it takes him twice as long to do his commentary. I'd just give up and go to bed, but I'm not tired yet.
