There have been elections when my chosen candidate didn't win. I was somewhat bummed, but never actually feared for our country, I still respected the office and at times even defended them when I felt they were being criticized unfairly. I still felt they loved the country and would try their best. I honestly do not feel that way tonight, nor do I foresee it in the future. If Trump wins, we are fucked. Amen.

This election has brought me to a level of understanding I never thought possible. I now understand how people can feel so disgusted they take a knee during the national anthem. I don't even begin to know how I face my daughter tomorrow and tell her some p*ssy grabbing ahole has the rights to her uterus.

My heart hurts and I am actually crying tonight. Never before has an election hit me like this one, and my votes have lost quite a few times over the past 35 years of my voting.
I feel like we are all screwed, because there is no realistic plan for "making America great again," and all of us masses - all but the white 1%- are going to be worse than ever before. I hope that we are wrong, but this is what my mind tells me. He has no realistic plans - his dad can't give him enough money to fund all his grand ideas and it won't just fall out of the skies.

Ok? You think we are going to be ok? Are you out of your fucking mind? Ask Germany in 1920 if things turned out ok for them. I literally just called my financial advisor at midnight on a Tuesday and asked him to please call me as soon as possible before trading starts in the morning so I can be certain that everything is as safe and handled as it possibly can be. I'll be damned if I am going to lose everything we have worked for because of that racist, bigoted gasbag and the asshats who voted for him. We are so fucked, it's unbelievable. And someone mark down, that today, 11/08/16, is the day that, after 15+ years on 2peas, ahiller lost her damn mind. 😂 I'm right behind you. I'm about to lose it.

I feel like I am going to vomit. I am so disgusted to be an American right now...and I am disgusted in my fellow Americans. This is exactly how I felt in 2008 and 2012

We survived 8 years of Obama. We'll be just fine if Trump wins. I don't remember financial markets dropping hundreds of points the night President Obama was elected. Trump is a whole different ballgame compared to Obama. It's like comparing apples and orange jackasses. When GWB was elected, I was disappointed for sure. But I never once believed that he would purposely do something to destroy this country or hurt the people in it. I can't make the same case with Trump when he has openly said horrible things about numerous groups of people. Sorry we all can't be rich white guys. I'll say it now: whatever comes next, it's on all of you who voted for him. Don't blame me, I didn't vote for the guy. He's not my president and never will be.

Do you remember in 2008 when Obama won… And all the people on Two Peas that hated him were SURE the world was going to end...and they were going to go and dig bomb shelters in their backyards....And they started (for real) stocking up on food and even seeds to start growing their own food.... and ammo because Obama was going to repeal the second amendment… and they started buying gold because that was going to be the only currency that was worth anything… and...oh yeah.... remember how they had to get their guns handy because they were sure that they were going to be gun fights in the streets on election night (that was a good one).
The difference is Obama never said he was going to do any of those things when he was running for president. And surprise, surprise – he didn't. Trump has PROMISED that he is going to build a wall. He has promised that he is going to deport millions and millions of people with a deportation "force." He wants to punish women for having abortions. I am not afraid of an imaginary boogeyman. I am simply afraid that Trump is going to keep his promises....

And many of us said the same thing about Obama. And if he wins, yes, he is your President, just as Obama was mine. You don't have to like it but if you are a citizen of this country, he'll be your president.

I have had many years when my candidate of choice did not win. And my reaction was always generally "Oh well." This year, I really didn't have a candidate I was thrilled to vote for, and yet this is the first time I have ever cried over the election results. And it also unfortunately marks the first full fledged panic attack I've had in over a decade. I am hoping that this is just a one-time unfortunate reaction brought on partially just by my disbelief in what has happened because I really don't want to revisit having these again. I'm sitting here trying to breathe my way through it without waking DH up to try to help me calm down. He has to work a full day tomorrow while I can at least try to sleep a bit in the afternoon once my work in the morning is done. It seems crazy to my logical side that this is my reaction, and yet here I am. My heart is pounding, my chest feels tight, my throat feels tight, etc., etc., all the same old crap from all those years ago.

I worked hard to become an American. At this moment I honestly don't know why. I truly believed Americans were better than this. To bare witness to a man admitting to sexually assaulting women, to mocking the disabled, to gleefully denigrate immigrants and minorities, a man who by his own words has no idea how government works, who has no experience, who incites violence, who has no actual plan for anything, who.....Jesus what's the point of going on.... That anyone can see and/or hear all or any of the above and vote for this man? Yeah I truly hope that you reap what you have sown. Except that those of us who stood up to evil will have to suffer as well. I'm on the verge of loosing my faith in humanity. I've met a lot of ugly Americans but have always felt they were the exception. Now, sadly, I know better. I just thank God that if he does win I'll always be able to go home and that my husband is fully on board with that. But I'm so scared for my friends. Sweet God have mercy on us.

I don't even begin to know how I face my daughter tomorrow and tell her some p*ssy grabbing ahole has the rights to her uterus. Yep. I am dreading having to explain to my 7 year old daughter just how the hell Donald Trump got voted in as our next president. She's pretty perceptive. She tries to watch the news every night with us, though I try to not let her because I don't want her exposed to all the nasty mud flinging they have been reporting lately. And all the hate. So much hate. But she knows that Donald Trump is not a good person. They talked about his wall he wants to build along Mexico at school today. She doesn't understand why he wants to block off an entire country from us. I am gutted that I will have to tell her that the lady she wanted to vote for president didn't win. The smart, rational woman doesnt get to be president, and Donald Trump does. And then we get to have the conversation about how your person doesn't always get to win and how that's ok. And how even though we are not happy that he's our president that we must still show respect for the office and his position as our president. And normally I would not have any problem with that. Because it is a lesson we all must learn at some point. Except it's probably not ok in this case.

That the crowd at Trump's party continues to chant "LOCK HER UP" this evening every time the cameras turn to them doesn't speak to a desire to bring the country together.

Conversion therapy, piece of cake.

I really hope Trump will work to bring the country together. But let's not forget that even though Obama made those claims, after he was elected, his mantra became "we won" whenever called upon to compromise. What I'm seeing now is Hillary supporters now saying all the things Republicans have said over the last 8 years and expecting the Republican President to act in a way their candidate did not. As I've said before, it's best to keep in mind that the tables always turn in American politics and that whatever you support in your own candidate will come back to be used against you in the future.

I have had a bad day today, no doubt brought on by stress, not just about the election, and I sat down to watch a movie to escape and fell asleep. I just woke up a half hour ago and I feel like I must still be in the middle of a nightmare. I came here before even checking the voting results and I cannot believe what I am reading here. I am beyond shocked that fellow Americans feel Trump will be an acceptable choice. I'm actually scared, and I have never been scared about an election before. Please tell me I'm still asleep and that Trump isn't really going to be president.
