In my old age I have finally come to the point where I recognize that sipping tequila is far more mature than guzzling shots like a desperate frat boy. Turns out, I am less likely to act like one too. lol
I agree! I sip on tequila but chase it with sips of pickle juice. Now THAT is an awesome mixture.Â
I have become a tequila sipper myself. Now I have to try it with a chaser of pickle juice, apparently. I'll try (nearly) anything once...

Can't say I'm a fan of gin. And I'm not really adventurous about most drinks. I like a good margarita, a screwdriver, maybe a Bloody Mary, and my favorite is an amaretto stone sour.

This is so damn wrong I don't even know what to say. Yeah...I saw that and I was like: Everyone knows Captain Morgan is the only natural pairing for eggnog...it's like, the law or something. Gah, spiced rum is an abomination! A dark demerara rum, on the other hand…

Now I'm thinking I need a drink but all we have in is Southern Comfort and nothing to mix it with! NO!! Don't do it! * Unless you are 21 years old. This is the warning I would put on Southern Comfort bottles if/when I am appointed the Alcohol Nonsense Labler in this new administration. I have my 2nd interview on Thrusday. Fingers crossed.... I didn't do it I did consider making coffee and adding a slug to make it very vaguely Irish then I realised I'm far too old to drink coffee after 6pm!! Very best of luck with your interview

Btw you peaty whisky drinkers need to try laphroaig - if you haven't already. It's one of those aquired tastes - first time you feel like you're swallowing flaming moss - but it grows on you. I'm a 'Friend of Laphroaig'! DH and I did a 4-day Islay whisky tour this summer. Laphoaig came at the end of day 3 after visiting Ardbeg and Lagavulin so, by that point, I don't remember much. I did take oddly detailed notes, though, which are hilarious but probably useless given that they were for my 11th through 14th drams of the day. We tried their 15 and 21-year-olds, the Lore, and Triple Wood (apparently my favourite?). We also had some of their Feis Ile 2015 Cairdeas with dinner but, yeah, that was dram #17? I swear was perspiring peat for the next few days. Anyway, I planted a flag in my newly acquired square foot of Laphroaig peat bog and collected my yearly 'rent'. If you ever get a chance to go, I HIGHLY recommend it.

I found this summer that I really like Stella Artois Cidre, and I never feel crappy after drinking it I'm 3 pages behind so this may have flipped to topic #4 now, but Stella Cidre is my favorite cider beer! Less sweet than Angry Orchard. Woodchuck pear is good too.

I don't really care for fruity beers but since we're on to beer, I have to plug a local favorite. New Glarus Brewery makes a whole bunch of fabulous beers but they're only available in Wisconsin. If you're ever in the neighborhood, try a few out. Spotted Cow is the classic.

BTW I'm drinking Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey whisky. I had 2 glasses of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc last night. It was $2 off a glass of wine at happy hour, so it was like buy 1 get 1 1/2 off. It seemed smarter to get 2. Hahaha

Wish I could find it locally.

Laphroaig...now you're speaking my language. Very smokey...such a lovely single malt. Another really great one is Oban.

Craft beer and Honey Whiskey girl checking in.......don't like Martinis, tequila is only good in margaritas now (the days of shots are over after I puked all over a wall at the Alamo) and even good gin tastes like pine...icky.

It's not my favorite cider beer but still pretty good.

Ok, I have to interject here. I don't drink (Gasp!) and I'm not Mormon either lol.. Can we discuss great chocolate? That's right up my alley... What about hot cocoa? I really like Ghirardelli Double Chocolate. But the best part is adding a big spoonful of marshmallow creme. and I never liked Egg Nog until friends insisted that I try Calder Farm's egg nog when we lived in Michigan.

never been a hot chocolate fan, but maybe that's because the only kind I've ever really had is Swiss Miss, lol. I like your suggestion of adding the marshmallow crème; I may just have to try that!
my go-to drinks are either hard cider or an on the rocks Cadillac margarita (extra Grand Marnier, please), but they're typically too many calories for me now to drink very often-- plus, I've become a lightweight after losing weight- one drink is enough for a pleasant buzz, two drinks makes me want to take a nap.

Someone's going to have to translate "cider beer" into proper English for me! Sounds like you're talking about alcoholic cider, but that's what I thought hard cider meant. I'm so confused...

The night I met the husband I'd had one too many Jack Daniels, he likes to remind me how embarrassing I was because of it!!
I'm confused as to what cider beer is, aren't they two different things?

I'm going to take a guess-- I drink hard cider, but beer with flavorings is also getting popular right now in the US- there are also American brands of beer that are apple flavored, or have cider in them as well as the beer/hops. "Red's Apple Ale" is one brand that I can think of.

It's not the same as hard cider bit I don't know how it's made. I really only like the Stella Artois version, of the few I've tried. It's like beer and cider combined but in a light, refreshing way. It sounds gross but it's really not. Or, I could be totally wrong on what a cider beer is vs Stella Cidre, I admit I haven't done a lot of research other than personal consumption

Plain ole dill pickle juice! Try it, you won't be disappointed. I really goes nicely with any brand of tequila.

I think I'm going to have to try this... if my boyfriend tries it, it wouldn't be an unbiased test, because I have seen him sip on pickle juice all by itself already, lol! (he actually keeps the pickle jar with the juice in, even after all the pickles are gone... but then again, he also will drink / sip on hot sauces, too, so...)
