Oh no!! I had heard he battled with depression for years. They are saying he died from asphyxiation (self inflicted) OMG! I am so sad too.
He had just finished filming a 3rd installment of Night at the Museum and was said to have been really excited to reprise the role of Mrs. Doubtfire, one of his very favourite characters.

How sad. I think my favorite for Robin Williams was Mork and Mindy. He was Mork from Ork.

I thought I had heard some time ago that he battled alcoholism but didn't know about depression. I saw a cute video with him and a gorilla recently. May he rest in peace.

How very sad. I cannot begin to imagine being in such a dark place. It makes my heart ache that any person has ever had to feel that way or feel that that was their only option.
I always loved Robin Williams (though I wasn't a big fan of his stand up comedy). I remember when he first came on the scene in Mork and Mindy. I thought he was amazing in Good Morning Vietnam.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family, and everyone who mourns his loss.

I'm so sorry. I'm deleting my thread. I promise I did a search under his first and last name. I think my favorite movies were Dead Poets Society and Mrs. Doubtfire. "Oh captain my captain"

Mork and Mindy was a favorite of mine. He was so dang talented. I too can't imagine how dark of a place someone has to be to commit suicide.

How horrible that a man who made the world laugh was so profoundly depressed. I hope he is peace now, but his talent and great heart will be missed. Robin Williams IS the comedian of my era; no one can replace him.
