I'll join in this month!
I totally shocked myself and ordered from ACOT and scrapbook.com in January. I almost never order "just because" and I did it twice in one month! I've been dealing with bad back pain (herniated disc) and some other stuff and I was totally shopping to make myself feel better. I was so shocked when I actually hit the purchase button on scrapbook.com!! I mostly just fill wishlists or shopping carts and add and subtract items for months but not in January!
In the interest of full disclosure, I do get a CT kit every month so I'm not counting that in being frozen. :-)

I am here to repent sort of. I am an emotional shopper. I should have just walked away, went and made something but NOOOO I sat and added/subtracted/added/subtracted etc etc for an HOUR (do you know how much I could have gotten done in that time!??!) for the voids in my stash I talked about. THey are not sufficiently filled (along wiht probably 20.00 of other stuff I didn't need!). I am trying not to beat myself up too much since I have been much more conscientious with my spending overall the past few months but I am upset with myself at the same time. UGH! Poop! TO "repent" to myself I am going to make 10 layouts before the stuff gets here. I hope that makes it better lol Meh, you could have dealt with your emotions by getting falling down drunk and beating your kids. Instead you bought some pretty scrapbook stuff. I think you made the right choice. I think you made the best choice you could in that moment. It's really good to be able to sit down, reflect upon your emotional retail trigger but there's no need to beat yourself up about it or foster negative feelings towards yourself. It's a moment you went through, you handled it the best you could at that time, you'll walk away from it with extra clarity about what makes you want to shop, you'll be able to use that in the future when you are in a similar position. It's ok. Life's not a straight line. Detours happen (and will continue to happen). We all at some point just grab three cookies and a big glass of milk instead of meditating, click the "purchase" button instead of walking the feelings off. If anything, this challenge helps you be honest with yourself and try to help yourself, to give yourself options for the future. But not make you feel bad about yourself! I'm feeling really good about using up so much stuff while working on (and now finished) my DD. You finished your DD? Yay! You've been talking about it like the project would never end. Very happy for you (and your slimming stash)! Thanks! This is the second cold I have had in a month and well, it has come back full strength. A cold, a hacking cough and now double ear infections. Feel better soon, mom ! Ear infections are no fun. Hugs! That so stinks. I feel for you. Really! We're remodeling a 100 year old house and it takes longer and costs more than I would have thought. Had we known, I would have torn it down and built my dream house. So I totally get it. My up side is that we're saving for each step and not going into debt to do any of the work. Having been raised be renovation lovers, I can honestly say that 80 to 130-year old homes are far bigger pains in the buttocks to renovate due to lead paint (at least on stone walls) and asbestos. The oldest home they did up almost exclusively by themselves was from 1705 and was a far smoother ride. Very thick walls made from huge round river stones are much easier and cheaper to deal with to open up for a roof terrace than getting rid of lead and asbestos. Lesson learnt if I ever buy anything. Go very old or go new. (although I refuse to live in a house reno for several years while it takes place again... done that too many times growing up and I've grown sick of it) Best of luck with the asbestos, jennoconnell ! I sincerely hope it doesn't end up costing too much.

I ended up going to Joanns and buying some paper pads ($20) and went by Tuesday Morning and spent $8 on some small stuff. I actually bought more stuff at Joanns but it was an Ott Light that was on sale (and was planning to buy anyways), blades for my trimmer, foam sheets and some organization bins/boxes so not sure that counts?!! I am back in the freezer now.

So far I haven't bought anything in February. Even with the few small purchases I made in January, this challenge made me think carefully. I'm not buying because something is on sale or because I have a coupon.

Bonjour Frozen Peas! I just woke up to the sound of the wind. It looks like tempest Marcel (I kid you not) will be felt all the way into Provence. We're having 110-120km/h (70ish mph) wind today. Nothing particularly unusual for us but still, in the middle of winter, brrrrr... cold. Gosh, I can hear some of our old windows having a hard time staying closed. Ah, it's going to be one of those days when you ought to walk in the middle of the street if you hear a shutter tapping against the facade of a building to avoid getting killed by it in case it finally unhooks just as you're walking past. Welcome to the jungle! So, guess who is not going to shop for anything at all again? Yep, rain held me back this weekend. Now heavy wind. I'm not freezing my cheeks off in the city centre (which is located right by the sea so even windier!) to go grab marked down bed linen. Patiently (ahem) waiting for my birthday. GIMME MY SCRAPPY GIFTS ALREADY! The freeze continues but I am fully counting on my birthday celebration at the end of the week as a way to cheat without doing any of the actual spending. Happy Monday to all! PS: hella cute, mom . I think the little paper lantern will make playing around with the panda stamps extra fun. PPS: sod off, icequeen . Ugh, I love the Nitt+Grit collection you posted. Love love love it. It couldn't be more right down my alley if it tried. Ugh. UGH. Le effin' ugh. It'll be your fault if I break my freeze.

Love those! So far I haven't bought anything in February. Even with the few small purchases I made in January, this challenge made me think carefully. I'm not buying because something is on sale or because I have a coupon. I could have written that. I went to Walmart yesterday, which has a Michael's next door, and I didn't even go into M's. Didn't even look at scrappy things in WM. the theme is very apropos. That is an awesome collection! Love the cards.

Thank you ladies. Things are still a bit rough here so I have been trying to stay off the computer so that I don't have another lapse lol. I did get one layout done and made three kits so that is progress. I am not stepping foot into another hobby/scrap/craft store this month! NO NOPE NO!

I've done good today. No $$ spent on scrappy purchases.
I did work some more in my studio...cleaned out my craft closet + got it all organized. This closet is for not scrapbooking things, but instead for like craft paint, extra frames, extra wooden bits and bobs. I also got my my dresser organized. In it I store my inks, glassine bags, muslin bags, that sort of thing.
Not terribly exciting things to do, but it was windy today and I just needed to stay busy.
The things I cleaned out of these two spaces will be donated to a local school's art camp. They will love it all.

I am not stepping foot into another hobby/scrap/craft store this month! NO NOPE NO! Changing your daily habits truly helps. I don't have craft stores selling scrappy goodies nearby but others have commented on this thread that working out a new shopping routine that does not involve the automatic stop at Jo-Ann's/Michael's/Hobby Lobby truly has helped them curb their spending (and become aware of how quickly and easily the money is spent routinely). Hang in there! Okay, I've been thinking about those darn Nitt + Grit cards ALL DAY! Seriously. I've got spreads planned in my head and I haven't even printed my Jan. PL pics yet. Just thanking my lucky stars over here that they don't do a collection with the exact same aesthetic that is everyday and/or travel-themed, honestly. Or I would probably have broken my freeze as though my life depended on it. Sounds like a dreamy studio! And a dresser full of inks... Excuse the drool. Ugh, I'm the freakin' Cinderella of this board, crafting out of shoe boxes as scrap storage and on a coffee table. In the living room. I demand a studio! *snaps fingers*

If I owned a flamethrower...
You're new floors will make you so happy! Just keep telling yourself that as you go through the process. TO "repent" to myself I am going to make 10 layouts before the stuff gets here. I hope that makes it better lol In my book, 10 makes it like it didn't even happen; 5 would be a repent. lol I have also spent the last day in bed sick Hope you feel better soon. The cold this year is like that - you get over it and then bam, it hits you again. Hope you have some yummy soup to eat. Still doing good on scrapbook supplies! However, I just bought 2 new futon covers, machine washable. I know my chill doesn't really extend to other areas, but I've been chill in those areas as well. These are needed.

Through the years, others have taken care of those issues. The people who lost it to the bank were trying to update it, I think to flip. However, they didn't do a great job. Luckily we have a great plumber and electrician. I think we even found our contractor now. But yes, I would not live in a house reno again. new Mama Elephant Stamps & dies that were on sale 40% off Joanns My Joann's never had Mama Elephant before. Now I want to go see. Luckily I have no time this week! . We're having 110-120km/h (70ish mph) wind today. Oh, my! Stay in, stay warm. I really like this! I think I may get this next month. (I'll just increase my chill budget. ha).

I had to buy Scotch double sided tape this morning.
I literally ran out of my adhesives last night. I barely have any liquid glue left. My double sided tape in the big dispenser ran out, then my back up little roll ran out (apparently I had used some, put it back, until there wasn't much left), and I still have no pop dots.
I'm still considering myself on a freeze.
Later this week I'll buy pop dots and liquid glue, and place an order for more double sided tape as a back up.

The nitt and grit is SO calling my name. I even mentioned it to a friend that I am really close with and is NOT a scrapper and they said it was PERFECT for me to deal with my anxiety etc.I started a book for my eyes only on all that this year, but it will have to wait. It will be there in March right?

So I think I am doing a limited freeze. I still got my felicity Jane kit an I need to make a Stampin Up purchase to meet my quarterly minimum. But I plan to not buy anything else.

I'm going to have to go stand in queue with all of you ladies who have run out of an essential recently. Looks like my favourite photo pen is about to go six feet under. Just ordered one which will probably take three weeks to arrive from the US. Darn, that pen is hard to find! Until then, my freestyle PL poetry scribbled on top of photos will be on hold. Still frozen otherwise. I mean besides the ombré vase. And knobs for our dresser. And the photo frame. I totally went to Zara Home to check out the winter sales, you guys. I'm ready for my punishment.

I've been doing a crazy amount of work in the garden trying to get it back in shape after my vacation. So no time to craft yet. The first thing to do is start organising and printing photos for my vacation album. Not tempted to do any craft shopping yet which is good. I really don't have room for anything more! I have bought some new wine glasses though -but I used a gift card I got from work last year

I'm curious, what pen do you use? The ZIG Photo Signature pen (in black). My favourite after having ordered a bunch of different ones to try out.

Still frozen! LOL Today I did bust open my new ME stamps and started making valentines day cards. ...and in other (sorta) related news, I checked my Joanns gift card to see how much money I had left on it. I thought I only had about $20 left ..... BUT NO!! I have about $70 left. Apparently my card was for $100 and not $50 like my DH told me! Surprise money is always the best! It's like finding a $20 in your winter coat when you first put it on for the season.

I'm still frozen! Haven't spent a penny! Mostly because we are ACTUALLY frozen! We've had such nasty weather conditions lately (snow and freezing rain) I haven't even bothered trying to get to the stores and they have even been closing due to the weather and road conditions.
I guess that's the silver lining of this ridiculous weather. LOL!

Frozen and going super strong at the moment because... it's birthday celebration weekend #1! And yep, there'll be a second birthday celebration weekend next week (family abroad). I'm so greedy. The real question is: will the boyfriend give me my scrappy gift this weekend... or next weekend? Who am I kidding? He's not stupid. He's not going to risk having me in a bad mood for a full week. Or mean. Totally giving it this weekend.

Woot! Happy birthday, sleepingbooty ! Hope your celebration (and loot) is awesome! I broke my freeze today! DH and I were discussing Valentine's Day gifts last night, and decided not to get anything for each other. But then this morning we broke our arrangement. LOL Kelly Purkey's spring release got me. Nabbed one of her new stamps. Happy Valentine's Day to me! Much better than flowers and candy!

I'm still hanging in there, despite a new Elle Studio release AND new KP stamp release...

One of these days I'm going to have time to actual sit down and scrap too. I hope!
