I'm doing well so far, I just need to ignore the Freckled Fawn thread and the Simon Says Stamps anniversary sale

Still frozen over here. I delete all SSS, MFT, LF, SB dot com, Mike's, Jo's and Bev's, etc emails every morning without looking at them. I gave away all my 'through the mail' coupon fliers. I've barely watched any videos or read any blogs. I think the UPS and FedEx guys miss me.
AND I'm making Valentine's for my work people from stuff I already have - what a concept! LOL

Frozen but with new things to play with! Yay for my scrappy birthday gift. Le boyfriend picked up some things during the winter sales (and a couple of non-sale items). I'm so giddy! He apparently spent several hours going through what was on the online shop he ordered from before making up his mind. I got several papers from on sale MME lines (he's apparently been listening to my out-loud complaints about many other companies not making the effort of explicitly saying their paper is acid and lignin-free), including some Sugar Plum, Hooray, On Trend, On Trend 2 and Hello World. And some embellishments from those same lines. And some coordinating My Colors Cardstock (ugh, it's so lush, I love it). And a set of Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. And two Tim Holtz stencils. And a fresh bottle of Color Shine in Gold Lamé. Heaven! I'm a spoilt scrapper this weekend. Come to think of it, I've never bought so much in one go for myself! Totally. Worth. Not. Spending. A. Dime. And. Waiting. Instead. I just want to play with my new goodies today... (but I have to get ready for family lunch instead)

carolynhasacat Chinagirl828 crystalb Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! And yes, I truly got lucky (with the boyfriend in question, not just the scrappy gift). I hope everyone has had a marvellous weekend and is ready to attack the almost mid-point of the FebFreeze. *sprays some Stay Frozen scent*

Happy Birthday Month sleepingbooty ! (Some of my friends celebrate allll month long. Fun!) I tried to stay frozen but I'm here to confess. Last week I bought some Felicity Jane, Elle's Studio, some things from SharBear Crafts on Etsy and I have a cart full at Paper Issues and I'm itching to buy the new 10" Stamp Perfect.

Still holding strong. I have several kits to work with and am also expecting my Feb Cocoa Daisy kit to be delivered today or tomorrow.
I'm determined to buy nothing in Feb. I am still hoarding a couple of gift certificates (PTI and SSS) so can afford to have a little splurge later in the year, but I'd really like to make significant inroads in my stash this year.
I just finished uploading all the photos from my vacation, plus extra ones of my niece I brought back with me so will have plenty of things to scrap this year.

Well I fell off the wagon, hard at Hobby Lobby I did one PL layout today. Too bad it didn't do much to my stash, I only used 3x6 kraft card stock, a stamp and made three mini banners out of scraps. Oh wait, I used a mini paper clip since I couldn't find my TH tiny stapler Ugh, at this rate it will take me at least 40 years or more to use my stash!

I'm doing pretty well in February.
I spent about $5 on Scotch double sided tape (adhesive isn't part of my freeze)
But I'll confess that I did buy two packs of stickers at the Dollar Tree, so $2 spent. But they are seasonal, so it was now or never, and I need the themes. The first are heart-shaped foam stickers, that look like Valentine SweetHearts candy with the printed messages on them. And the second is St. Patrick's Day leprechaun stickers, with gold foil on them.
I'll be using both in the next couple months.

@scrappersoccermom Thank you! A birthday month, you say? *brain wheels switch in motion* anniefb How does it feel to be back home? Where it's nice and warm... I hope you'll have a lot of fun going back into scrapping. gmcwife1 When scrappy mountain becomes part of the inheritance... LavenderLayoutLady In many ways, it's easier for me not to fall off the frozen bandwagon since Valentine's Day is very subdued around here (it's a good excuse to have a nice dinner and a pastry dessert with your SO, perhaps a bouquet of roses, but children don't exchange any cards or sweets at school, cards aren't sent in multiples, etc.) and we don't do Saint Patrick's Day (or, you know, just to stop at the one local Irish pub in the city to have a couple of drinks after work with some great atmosphere and music but no costumes/green goodies everywhere/etc.) I've been working on my current PL album. I've let it slip into moodboard-of-my-life territory and loving it. It's very simple, very complementary colours in a same spread, mostly undated, dipping into the final favourite bits and bobs I'd been saving to add to the photos. So freeing to let it take a life of its own and no longer follow any of the traditional codes.

I went to Hobby Lobby today because I needed a couple things for Valentine's Day. The only "scrappy" thing I bought was some white cardstock, but it was mostly for my husband (I'll use whatever is leftover), so that doesn't really count, right? I had a giftcard, so only $10 out of my pocket total. I wasn't even really tempted by anything in the scrapbook department!

So far so good in February. No purchases and I've also used up most of what I bought in January: 2 patterned papers and two tags to go. However, my LSS has 30% off everything this week. I'm going to go in to buy page protectors and adhesive, but I can't can't guarantee that those will be my only purchases. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well I have fell hard this month. Not only did I have that one slip but several others. I guess I was due since I was "frozen" for so long but it is still not a great feeling. I did however ONLY buy things to fill my stash where there were voids and not just because it was pretty so that is a HUGE step in the right direction. I should be good for the rest of the month since training is starting back up and I will be busy busy busy so no time for distractions lol!

sleepingbooty thanks it's nice to be home. We've had some wonderful warm days since my return, although today is a bit miserable and rainy. But still warmer than Austria! I've made a slow start on my scrapping. First task is to work with some pics of my niece, then finish my DD album!

I haven't spent a penny, except for my FJ kit.
I may thaw a little if I get a chance to go to TM this week. I rarely have a chance to stop there.
I am feeling good about using up most of the school papers in my stash. Some of them were really old.

I defrosted for a $3.25 purchase of an overlay for the cricut cartridges. Back in the freezer since I am mortified as to how much new, unopened goodies I found when cleaning my scrap area Sunday.

I bought some ibuprofen to help relieve my head cold. No buys but definitely a (very short) list of things I do want to get once I start unfrosting. I'm really not into embellishing a whole lot right now. I've been test-painting some PL cards with my new watercolours this week and need a new 6x8 album for the summer (I think I'll be taking a compact set and a smaller sketchpad with me during the summer break to "double document" our travel experiences). I also would love an acrylic album from Jamaica. And I desperately need glue dots/dodz. Those are the three scrappy items I feel represent my genuine needs (and desires). Broken record alert but I really love how this freeze has made me embrace thinking purchases through. Like, a lot. Taking weeks to reflect isn't a matter of being indecisive as much as practicing being grateful for what I already have and letting myself take the time to find my way to the next scrappy chapter in my life. I probably would have bought another three or four stamp sets and who knows how many extra things during the winter sales because they were half the price off. But I don't need or actually really want stamps or bonus embellishments right now. I want to sketch, paint, write little poems out on photos and let the creative flow take over how I document my life at the moment. I wouldn't have figured this out (at least not so quickly) if I hadn't taken a step back and stopped the buyer's mode flow in my head. So, in advance, thank you Frozen Peas for taking the time to walk by my side on this slow scrap life journey over the past month and a half. And happy Valentine's Day!

Im still frozen....I was slightly tempted by the Simon Says Stamp kit but then when it was actually revealed, it was way too themey for me. So maybe next month?
Got my one kit the other day - Felicity Jane. Not feeling it right now. So I stuck it on the shelf. I have been working on PL and I am *finally* in December. Since I also did a Dec Daily, I mainly have to document the non-Christmas stuff for the month. Grades, dentist appointments, dances, stuff like that. Should be complete tomorrow!
Today I made little Valentines Day cards for my boys using the Mama Elephant stamps I got at Joanns at the first of the month on sale. I used the Panda ones. Nothing complicated, but it was nice to use the Panda set instead of tossing it into my box, and forgetting about it.

So my dogs ran out of food and I fell out of the freezer. It was the trip to Petsmart that did me in. For 3 months it was not an issue.
Tuesday Morning is right next to Petsmart. I have not gone to TM for a least 3 months, because often I find nothing that great at the store closest to me. But at least it was only $12 and NO SHIPPING!

LOL I ended up giving the cards to both my boys - I was afraid it was too feminine, but my youngest told me its ok to be girlie on valentines Day, so all was good. As a side note, have you noticed how much cards are in the store?!? $5.99 for a flimsy card from Hallmark for my teens? No way. Mama's got a stamp for that! LOL

I did buy some stuff yesterday. LSS had 30% off everything so I got 8 sheets of cardstock, Scor tape, adhesive, 6x8 page protectors, a new pair of scissors, and 2 packs of Thickers. No patterned paper! This is a major win for me.
