I like how the color took differently to the gray @dknitter. Does the koolaid dye stay in after washing? Yes. The citric acid bonds to the fiber as long as it's animal fiber such as alpaca or wool. Next week, I'm buying some blackberries and dyeing some yarn with them. As long as I remember to add alum to the water, it should come out pretty purple.

I'll post some rock pictures. I'm NOT an artist but I enjoy doing this and my daughter does it with me...it's a good activity for us. I love them!!! Dh totally thinks I'm nuts putting in all the effort and then just giving them away to strangers. LOL Fourth of July rocks: I think it is great that you are giving them away to strangers - I would be so happy to find one of those - they are beautiful!!

Thank you! I came home today and a lady had posted a photo of her son w/one of my rocks to our FB group. He found it today and was smiling so cute! ..and that is what makes it fun.

My mom likes to get together and paint birdhouses. I'm going to bring some rocks next time and suggest we paint rocks and leave them around for people to find . I'm so excited. Thanks from for sharing that idea!

<<< and ( wouldn't let me load another photo in previous post) this is what started it all... DD wanted a table for by the window for all her cacti/succulent friends. I took an old wide (12") piece of rough sawn barn wood and drilled holes to match the old Singer sewing machine base. This is the longer section bolted in and she has the shorter piece (just a bit wider than base) in a closet so she can change in out if she wants in the future. The lamps belonged to her Grandma (my mom) that she had on either side of her bed for as long as I've been alive. My uncle (her brother) made them for my mom when they were young.

I have a sewing machine table sort of like this (smaller wood section) in the living room that my dad made.

I'm still on my sewing kick. I joined a monthly fabric box and the stripes are the June fabric. I really like how these turned out, except my drawstring is too short. These look great. Do you mind me asking what pattern you used? Thanks.

She wanted it the length of the large window for all her plants. Then she didn't end up putting it under the window after all. I made the alternative top for it in case she wants it "normal" length in the future.

I am working on my lattice square blanket today (while relaxing in a hotel room) and wanted to post a picture. I decided to do a double crochet border around each square and sew the squares together.

I don't knit or crochet, but I thought y'all would enjoy hearing my story. DD is a newborn photographer and she likes to dress babies in vintage looking clothing. Last week she was here, looking through my fabric and found some crocheted collars that my aunt made. She used one of them to make a baby romper. She asked me if I though my aunt would be turning over in her grave. Would you?

Excellent use, I think.

I've made this as a surprise for my very good friend - it's her birthday next week. She's an awesome knitter but can't crochet. I'm still learning and that border drove me bonkers 🤣😬😤 Attachments:

I'm sure your aunt would be happy to know that your DD is using the crocheted item in a creative way, plus it is helping you DD (win-win)

I'm lucky that my work includes crafting. I'm teaching myself to manually digitize embroidery designs with Embird Studio. This was my first attempt. I scanned in a business card, then went to work tracing everything. It definitely needs some tweaks as this first stitch out had centers of flowers with only 4 or 5 stitches, so I need to go back in and redo some of it. It was only done on stabilizer, thus all the puckers. Anybody digitize using Embird?

I started this cross-stitch project today. It says "Hello Summer" but it is so ridiculously hot and humid here, I'm tempted to stitch it as "F@ck Off Summer!" Think anyone would notice if I hung that on my wall?

Made my mini blue tea pot a tea cosy from my new book mentioned in a previous post. Sorry not a good photo. Cosy is hand sewed and reversible . Think I might change the ribbon at some point. Off to make a pot of Breakfast blend. Attachments:

How did I get to being as old as I am without knowing such a thing existed!!! WHY did I Google when I KNOW I don't have enough time to do the projects I've already planned? Those shorts are really cute scorpeao although I may never forgive you for mentioning a monthly box. I am so loving those painted rocks too, and the idea of leaving them to be found. I was in a FB group once where they left all manner of crafty items and artwork to be found by strangers. Such a lovely idea. Another lovely idea for painted rocks was in a magazine this month. They were used in box frames as art so, for example, the shape of some rocks might look like the sails and shape of a boat so they were painted accordingly and placed in a watery scene. I'm not describing it very well but it was an effective way to make something pretty and arty.

It is two yards of fabric and a discount for an inspiration pattern. Some months it's two yards of the same fabric or one yard each of coordinating fabric. It's really fun, and I love to see what everyone comes up with.

The first place I found was here Pretty fat quarters and haberdashery is like heaven! Those Scandi boxes are just adorable.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo I am going to have to stop coming to this thread. You are all such a bad influence, yes gillyp I am looking at you . I have enough fabric for a small shop and then you have the nerve to show me how to get even more without even choosing it myself or leaving the house? My OH will want words with you lot later on.

This is my first try at "no line" water coloring. I used the Zig Clean Color Real brush markers.

Wha' ? It's all scorpeao 's fault. I was merely responding. Psst. I got a Christmas box and fat quarters on a dog theme. I've been meaning to make curtains for the DGDs play house so the machine will be out to do them. It would be a shame to haul it out just for that.
