I'm watcfung my first game ever in support of the players' rights to kneel. Either that or I'm away from home for a week of training and at the bar for a nightcap. Either way I'm good.

I'm going to the Cowboys/Cardinals game tomorrow and I will proudly stand with my hand over my heart for our national anthem and I will support those that choose to protest. That's what our country is all about even if our president can't grasp the concept. I will be watching this game tonight, and I bet each and every Cowboy will be standing there with their hand on their heart. Love my Cowboys! THEY ALL KNEELED! Including Jerry Jones. Now standing, but no hands on hearts - arm in arm instead.

I love how pretty well the entire NFL united. Players, coaches, owners. Wonderful!
If I wasn't already a huge football fan, I sure would be now!

This weekend wasn't about the flag. It wasn't about the military. It wasn't about race.
This weekend was about Trumps dumbass statement. This week was about showing him that he didn't run the NFL.
I think making the Steeler apologize was out of line, but I understand. Perhaps more would have broken rank and stood at attention given the choice and they feel like they looked bad.

If you want to make it the law that people has to stand for the anthem or take away your right to peacefully protest, what other right will you be willing to give up? Our rights is what makes this country great. If we didn't have them we wouldn't be the same US of A. If we give up one right we will lose them all. So go ahead and boycott while it's still your right. You just might get what you wish for.

The Dallas Cowboys play tonight... Jerry Jones has said the players n coaches are paid by him to play on a field he owns.. if they do not stand in respect of the flag and anthem.. he doesn't care who it is... they will be fired... I wonder how true that is.. if Prescott or Elliott or Witten kneels... is jones really gonna fire a player he hopes to help lead us back to the playoffs??? I can't see that really happening... He is also a super rich white man... who supported trump... sooo there is that but jones did say this to his players when Obama was still president and Kap kneeled the 1st time.. ....if you watched/are watching the MNF game tonight, Jerry Jones stood on the field with all of his players and they ALL took a knee together as a team before the anthem was played. So your quote is obviously incorrectly attributed...

Have you ever been to a game? Do you own any jerseys/merchandise?? Just curious if you are an actual fan of a team who is now not planning to do the things you were previously, or just not planning to become one.

I do too. The same feeling is expressed about actors of all races, so it stands to reason it has nothing to do with race. Except that those who have a problem with actors or athletes sharing their (typically liberal) views, stating that those celebrities should not be using their status as a platform, voted for Trump. Who is a celebrity that has been the biggest ass regarding politics for years.

After all this crap this weekend, I was reminded of an ESPN 30 for 30 episode. It was about the failed usfl. Guess who owned that? Trump. It made me wonder if he's still holding a grudge about the USFL and the fact he could not own a NFL team. Given his pettiness and the stuff he said, I'm thinking yes.

You quote me in the other thread, ask me specific questions that I take the time to answer, and instead of having the courtesy to respond there, you drop this nibblet here. Since I'm the one that brought up the actors/athletes in the first place, and your post in this thread is regarding race, am I to assume you believe I'm a racist? Wait...no response required. You wouldn't respond anyway because that's how you play here. It's not the first time you've asked questions, that have been answered, and you don't go back to discuss or acknowledge. You just like to toss in your accusations and insults and walk away.

I'm not here all day every day and don't see every post of every thread, especially if they are long threads. And honestly that thread is very frustrating to me at the moment because of another poster. I saw a lot of likes in my notifications but not quotes. I'll go back and see what you posted. Anyway, the point of this post was to point out the hypocrisy of people who complain about celebrities talking about politics yet voted for Trump, who is a celebrity that has inserted himself into politics for years.

I'm boycotting; my dh is not. Our compromise: he can't watch it on the main tv in our family room but has to go to his man-cave.
