i am far less bothered by vulgarity than I am by holier-than-thou prissiness. Hmm...are you one of them there vulgar liberals? Is that multisyllabic word, how you say, prissiness vulgar? I am thrilled that non-liberals condescend to correct our poor vocabulary here on the pod. Now, here is my question: If you have learned multiple foreign languages and have become familiar with foreign vulgar words is that a symptom of poor vocabulary? Or are you lazy for having applied yourself to learn colloquialisms in a foreign tongue. Seriously, OP, vulgarity comes in all political stripes. Gross generalizations are a symptom of laziness. For the record, no liberal I know, and I know a surfeit of them, has ever said "grab 'em by the pussy". 'Nuff said. SaveSaveSaveSave

Of all the massive issues and problems faced by this country, THIS is what you’ve chosen to be outraged about?!!! Are you for real?

Checking in as an in residence vulgar conservative. A well placed fuck, with the perfect intonation, says more than any other combination of words ever could. I think it's one of my favorite words, so I use it often. I don't think God is worried about what society considers vulgar words. In a world of sins, those are some seriously small potatoes.

Take a quick look at the posts on this board. What posts have swearing on them? I find the Ps don't really swear on threads. They all say they swear like sailors, but don't really post swear words. All except shelley I see in this thread, but normally I don't see it much here at all? Mine mine mine and I own it. Op you need to go read more studies about swearing and intelligence.

Well fiddlesticks... you caught me! I did say "damned" on a thread here today. You aren't going to call my alma mater and report me are you?! Do you think they will make me repay those academic scholarships or rescind my valedictorian honors or my summa cum laude diploma?!?! There must have been some mistake! Clearly I have devolved into a vulgar simpleton incapable of otherwise expressing myself. I guess that is what happens when you realize that healthcare is a basic human need, that it is none of my business who you love, and that it is okay if you don't worship my God. And FTR, I can only recall personally seeing one pea telling someone to "f$&@ off" around here and she was a Conservative.

^^^ I must be a freaking genius! Seriously, I would rather use/hear a "vulgar" word used meaning no harm than a perfectly "acceptable" word used to hurt or harm someone. Me and mine can and do use words that others wouldn't (cuss/swears) in jest and/or as terms of endearment. I'll take that over a well placed, hurtful, normally benign word used as a weapon.

I don't curse often, but I'm running the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday and I'm fairly certain that after mile 20, I'll start using the f-word like a comma. So be it. Good luck to you!!! I was going to respond to the question about cussing, but I think this thread is an attempt to start a fight with liberal peas. Liberal peas, if you ignore the attempts by people who are obviously trying to get a reaction, they will eventually stop or get bored and go away. If you fight with them, you are giving them what they want. Ding ding ding ding ding. We have a winner Johnny. Tell her what she's won. 😄😄

Excellent point! What does this tell us about the character of those that choose vulgarity over knowledge or effort? Are they amoral? Not amoral, but usually a lack of good judgment. Oh what the hell? My judgement is quite fine thank you very much.

Our parrot swore at the vet when he took her blood. A great big F@cK. I think she is brilliant for using the word correctly and appropriately.

I used to be able to cuss a blue streak like the best of them, and then I had a kid. Since I didn’t want her to get called into the principal’s office for using inappropriate language at school, I’ve since dialed it way, way, WAY back. I generally don’t use vulgar language on here or elsewhere online. The funny thing is, my DH used to get on me for swearing needlessly back before we had our kid. Now he’s the one that she typically calls out for using the naughty words, LOL. HOWEVER!! If you have dropped something super heavy on your foot or smashed your thumb with a hammer though, all bets are off! Then I would say you are well within your rights to say whatever you will. ETA: My friend told me once that her DH’s great aunt or someone didn’t like cursing and so she would say, “Cheese and Rice!” or “Lord, Love a Duck!” So now those are my go-to’s, along with “Son of a Sock Puppet!” which I picked up from another friend. I like "Son of a Nutcracker!" which I picked up from an elf, but not the angry south pole kind.

i am far less bothered by vulgarity than I am by holier-than-thou prissiness. I'm far from prissy. That's name calling and sexist. I'm a prude because I don't like the reading the f-word on a scrapbooking board? NSBR - Not for sissies.
Perhaps you shouldn't venture here if you can't handle mixing it up with us vulgar folks and our poor vocabularies.

I am very well-educated, I am very liberal, I have a prodigious vocabulary, and I swear like a sailor. It is neither lazy nor a sign of ignorance; it is color that I impart to my expressions.
All my favorite people swear. A lot.

Yeah, she write. Fo shure. I don't know words much and lazy so can't learn more so say shit allot. Gotta go and sell my WIC vouchers so i can buy some smokes. Yay democrats for giving me fancy cars & nails on welfare! Are liberals more dramatic? I didn't accuse you of being a welfare fraud, just cursing/getting louder when your argument isn't going well. Lots of people who know better but revert to vulgarity. Know better? I didn't know there were rules and laws on how I should I speak. I say whatever I want, whenever I want. I'm well educated with a good paying job and swear like a sailor. But for your sake I went ahead and left out at least 3 fucks in the above sentence.

Well this moderate conservative, advanced degreed, pretty effing accomplished woman, just toned it down in honor of the OP's original post.
That wasn't deserved by the way. SMH.

Birds of a feather, you and I. DSO and I are fond of using the odd bomb as a term of endearment. I swear a lot, but not very often on this board. I think the OP's fucking head would explode if she heard me IRL.

I find it vulgar that people get more upset over a well-placed "swear word" every now and then, than they get upset over people living in pain and misery while others live lives of lavish, profligate consumption.
But, hey, that's me.

Are liberals more vulgar? My mother, a (non-unionized) teacher used to say it was the sign of a poor vocabulary. Or is it just being lazy? Yeah, that’s got to be it. 🙄 now which of my other languages would you like me to also respond in? But can you swear in those languages? THAT is the question. (I can swear in 5, but am always open to expanding my knowledge. )

Being the crude and vulgar person I am being assumed to be, I have to admit that this frickin' thread and the gosh darn comments are amusing the heck out of me.
(I seem to not want to really swear when expected to- rebel, I am)
