I don't really like all-star seasons as much but at least there are some people we've never seen (unless you watch PR from other countries, of course). I hate when they don't eliminate someone. Anya had no business winning in the first place and even though her dress was cute, it was blah and she should have gone home this week. Michelle looked WEIRD in those glasses.

I watched even though I’m not much of a fan of the all star seasons. I like that they are all winners, the addition of international designers and that they are bringing Sean back. I am sooooo over Anthony Ryan. The thought it was ridiculous Anya still can’t sew...I can’t help but think thats the producers getting her to say that since it was her thing during her first season.
It was such a cop out to not eliminate anyone. I hate when they do that in the middle of the season but it’s extra annoying when it’s right out of the gate like this. It doesn’t help that I thought both garments were awful and thought they could have both been eliminated.
I agree about Michelle...her glasses were so distracting.

I can't imagine being Anthony Ryan and dealing with the show so close to losing his grandmother. In some ways, I thought perhaps he should go home so that he can grieve privately, but then sometimes it can be so comforting to be around people you love, stuff you love, and keep busy and distracted. I am glad they did not send him home even though I agree I hate it when they don't send anyone home. I would have been fine saying Bye Felicia to Anya. I love Seth Aaron. I have a dress he designed and I love it. I found it at Goodwill!

Love that they brought winners from other countries in. I had some opinions on this first episode. Like what they did at elimination. Not a fan! I’m hoping it will be a good season!

I'm always the odd person out on these threads! I love All Stars, love that they bring people back, and world wide all stars? That's even better!
I like it when the first episode is a non elimination, because people need a bit of time to settle and get their nerves under control, so I was happy with that.
Dimitri seems to have turned into a Vampire. Michelle is making herself really unattractive. I like many of her designs but never liked her personality. I've always liked Seth Ryan and really liked this look. The two Canadians were very promising. I saw both Aussie seasons but that was so long ago now that I barely remember them - the first girl that was on won 6 years ago and the other one 10 years ago. The winning look wasn't my favourite, but it was still good.
I think I'm going to really like this season.
Also I just saw that Heidi and Tim are now looking for designers for their new show on Amazon...which means if they are just putting out a casting call, now, we won't be seeing it for quite a while yet.

I was really glad to see it. My husband and I have so much fun watching it. My husband will make a comment and moments later Isaac will say the same thing. I don’t like all stars either but am just glad the show is back in anyform.

I am also a big fan of All Stars, love that they bring people back, and INTERNATIONAL All Stars -- How Exciting!!!
I did not mind that the first episode was a non-elimination, because they added 2 new designers who didn't have to do the first challenge so I felt it was more fair this way. The added designers will have to hop in on Challenge #2 whereas all the other designers have worked out returning to the work room and are reacquainted to the pressures -- so they may have a slight advantage over the 2 added designers.
I am excited about this season!!!

I love Seth Aaron and I loved his dress. I still don’t like the chick who can’t sew. I am glad it wasn’t an elimination, half the time someone I really like goes home first.
I had not realized it had started, so thanks for the reminder.

Alyssa STILL hasn’t washed her hair.
Georgina Chapman looked stunning! Isaac needs to let his hair go back to curly, although it seemed to be less Cruella than last time. Debra Messing just looked - off or something.
As usual there were some designs I liked & some that left me scratching my head. I did like Dmitri’s.

Debra Messing just looked - off or something. I think having them come on stage is awkward and there's no reason for it...I hope they go back to just introducing them sitting in the chair.

Week 2! I didn’t see a new thread so am bumping this one.
I feel like a broken record but Georgina Chapman is just lovely. Alyssa still with the hair, although I did like her dress for the runway show - it fits her beautifully.
So did I understand that this week’s challenge was supposed to be for graduation parties? Surely they’re not expecting the graduate herself to wear some of this stuff? Really disappointed in most of the looks, honestly.
They haven’t announced the winners yet so I may have more to say.

I didn’t care for the winner at all. It looked like the summer play clothes my mother made me in the 70s.

I agreed with the boot. It bugs me when they don't bother to follow the rules of the challenge. Seems so arrogant. I didn't like the winning look at all though.

Since most people preferred the one long thread for survivor, why don't we do the same here. I edited the thread title to reflect that.

I didn't understand the selection of the Winning Look this week. It did not appeal to me at all. However, after I saw photos of it on Instagram it did photograph well and was very colorful so maybe that was taken into consideration b/c using two colors seemed to be the most important criteria.
I hated Irina's look and didn't comprehend how she could not see how bad her look was. It was horrible and she deserved to be in the bottom. The designer who went home did so b/c he did not follow the guidelines for the challenge. So I understand why he was selected but Irina should be feeling very lucky b/c in all honesty her look was the worst.

Irina’s dress was awful. It looked like a cheap ice skaters outfit. I agree with who they sent home, and why. Some of the color choices were hideous. Michelle had a tough combo and really worked it.
I loved the one dress....is his name Seth Aaron? I loved both of the dresses he created and would have had him in the top 3.
And lastly...... for the love of all things fringe.....learn a new technique. I can not see fringe for another whole season. One trick pony is what I call him!!

This was a bit of a lacklustre episode. I also think if you are going to have international nations then make the challenges more "international" not American based. I didn't really 'get' what was meant by a "graduation dress"...unless we didn't see a better explanation, graduation from what? High school? University? and what sort of graduation parties do girls go to in America?...are they formal, informal? I have no idea. I was even surprised when Anne said in the work room, "graduation is always in spring" I didn't know that and probably the non American's didn't know either. It's meant to be a fashion show, and there's plenty of things that relate to fashion world wide, by pick an event that is more specific to one country? I'm another one who hated the winning look, partly because it was awful and partly because I'm not a fan of Anthony Ryan's. He's just so whiney. I have no idea what Irena was thinking...it sounds like a few people questioned how short it was in the workroom, but she didn't listen. But I didn't love any of the looks. I liked Seth Aaron's first dress more than what he sent down the runway, that looked like a nice maternity dress. The right person went home because he decided to ignore the brief. Alyssa still with the hair Personally I see nothing wrong with her hair, but even if you do, it's hardly her fault as there'd be someone who styles it for her.

Trust me, I think many Americans were going "graduation dress - what the heck does that mean?". I've walked three commencements and wore something more professional than party under my robe/gown for all. A graduation party can be anything from a Sunday best sit-down dinner to a pool party so I think it was a terrible challenge. I didn't love the winner and am bummed that Sonny left (although agree he should based on the color challenge, his definitely was no where near the worst outfit). Overall, I do think the talent in this group is high and look forward to watching more.

Anyone watch this week? I totally agree with the judges on who was eliminated. Not even shocked-there was nothing special about that look.

I also agree with the judges decision as much as I hated to see that designer go home. I felt so many of the designs were exceptionally well done for an Unconventional Challenge. I did agree with the bottom 3.
I was impressed overall by all the other designers other than the bottom 3.

I'm in Canada. It only started here this past Wednesday with the first 2 shows in a row. We haven't seen the unconventional challenge yet. We must be one week behind. Michelle looked WEIRD in those glasses. Not only her glasses, but that weird hair cut. Not attractive at all.

Right at the start I though Michelle would win this because she'd design an amazing bag (I remember her using lots of leather and studs etc on her first season)...wrong! Her bag was a snooze fest.
I thought that was odd too, it sounded like the bag/accessory was supposed to be a big part of the challenge and yet they hardly mentioned them in the critique.
I could understand Seth Aaron's thought process, but wheat he ended up with was nothing like he described at the start. He just didn't make it work. I was sad to see him go because I like his work, but it was the right choice. His little bag was crap too, it felt like he just gave up this week. I think Julie's bag saved her, it was really cute and I'd buy that is I saw it somewhere.
I didn't think Michelle should have been top 3, that was just a basic A line dress with stuff stuck on it...I couldn't understand the judges saying it was "like a real dress"...no it wasn't. Jasper's was like a real dress. I think Tamron was right, I could see Michelle Obama in a 'proper' version of that outfit too. I laughed at Dimitri saying the designer was "training his model like a dog" To the model's credit she took it like a champ.
I thought the other Aussie, Christina with the jacket should have been top 3 as that was actually something you could wear on a plane. Not the winning look, but better than Michelle.
