He’s got his own “sour grapes” with that show. Ding ding ding!!! Jeff Varner is not someone that I’d value their opinion. I’m sorry that everyone thinks that he could have accidentally touched her...... here is the thing......don’t get told on day 2 about touching, don’t get told on day 14 about touching and when you do accidentally touch someone on day 34 EVERYONE will believe you!! It’s like my man Dr Phil always says..... the best indicator of future behav ior is looking at past behavior! Dan has a problem. So I couldn’t care less what Jeff Varner has to say. You can’t be edited in a bad light if you don’t have bad behaviors to begin with! I completely agree with you, I think Dan has a major problem that should have been dealt with at the beginning of the season. I was more amazed that someone was posting on fb defending his behaviour & saying it was all editing.

Does anybody else think Dan looks like Harvey Weinstein? I thought he did and they should've sent him home right after Kellee reported him. I said that on the first episode! I told my husband I would vote him out just because he reminded me of Weinstein.

It is aggravating that everything Kellee went through was tolerated, but one touch (allegedly) to a precious production members and he’s out. Makes the contestants seem like pieces of meat and THAT part is disappointing. This is what bothers me the most about this season. I am angry for Kellee that what Dan did to her was tolerated (except for a talking to from Jeff and a meeting) which in my mind was like a slap on the wrist. It wasn't anywhere near strong enough for what he repeatedly did to Kellee. If it had been one instance-fine, Dan should have got the talking to, a meeting and a warning. But Dan did it repeatedly after Kellee kept telling him over and over again no. It wasn't until a member of the crew was touched without consent that Dan got kicked off.

Did anyone see Dalton’s list of Survivor seasons best to worst? He does it every year on the second-to-last episode recap. Sadly he ranked this season dead last. His rationale? The ultimate feeling around this season is sadness. Watching Survivor should be fun, but nothing seemed fun or light with the seriousness of the issues. He felt it made the rest of the season difficult to enjoy.
I get where he’s coming from. I wouldn’t have ranked it so low though. They really did have an amazingly diverse cast with some real standouts. I LOVED the casting. And while the serious issues did bring the fun level down, they were still important issues to tackle. Hope that the show bounces back from this.

Have you seen this articleDan issued a statement and apology. Seems a little weird timing and he doesn't mention the act that got him kicked off.

I don't know that I would rank this season last. Other seasons were far more boring & unmemorable, with casts that weren't likeable at all. I enjoyed the concept of Island of the Idols. Other than Dan, I have enjoyed this season

I hate the fact that he’s putting Kellee out there when she isn’t the final reason he was pulled from the show. He probably blames her for starting this. He should be apologizing to his son, wife & family for putting them thru this.

I don't think it is the worst season of Survivor, but there is a cloud over it.

I think it's the worst season because I'm angry with the Survivor producers for waiting so long to kick Dan out. In my opinion he should have gotten a stern warning with the warning of automatic withdrawal from the game the first time he groped Kellee after she told him not to (1st time he did it-free pass, she tells him don't do it, he does it again-warning given). Then the next time he groped Kellee he should have been gone. It should never have gone on as long as it did.
The fact that Boston Rob and Sandra were there with their huge Tiki head idols that I could barely stomach (they have such huge egos) at the beginning of this season and actually thought about skipping this season because of that-well that doesn't even enter into my mind right now about whether this is the worst season or not. It doesn't even register as a blip on my screen.
I will watch the season finale because I owe that to Janet and anyone else that isn't and hasn't been on Dan's side during this whole season. I hope she wins! She's the only one I'm rooting for. I said a few pages back I was rooting for Dean but I was wrong. I was thinking he was someone else-don't know who.
I wish we had a finale 3 of Janet, Elaine and Kellee. That would be great! And by the way, does anyone else hate how they are now doing the finale 3 with the fire building business and the person who wins the final challenge picking who goes to the final 2 with them? I very much dislike it and wish they'd go back to the old way.

I very much dislike it and wish they'd go back to the old way. I wish each season things were done differently for the final 2 or 3. That way they couldn't plan out who to take with them to the end because they would have no idea what they were going to have to do or even if it would come down to a final 2 or final 3. Keep them on their toes.

Of the 3, I'm happy Tommy won. Wish it had been Janet or Kellee. The way the jury was grilling them, I was afraid Dean was going to win but his ego got in the way and couldn't keep his slimy mouth shut. We'll watch the reunion tomorrow. I loved Lauren's hair.

I’m happy with Tommy.
I’m not a super-fan at all but I watch every season. I totally tuned out during the finale. I was like “who’s that curly haired guy on the jury?” 😄

I loved that Janet and Elaine both got $100,000 each.
Kellee was so nervous. I was kind of hoping she would have said that the show should have lifted the ban on speaking for her.
I’m kind of disappointed in the way that it was said Jack wasn’t able to be there. He chose not to be there. Big difference.

I was like “who’s that curly haired guy on the jury?” 😄 I had NO CLUE who that was either! I had to ask my son LOL I have to rewatch the whole thing because my family was way too chatty during it. I didn't get to hear all of Kellee's part at the reunion. I did feel that she was definitely holding back though, worried about getting in trouble somehow I HATED this reunion show. They barely spoke to any of the players! I wonder if Noura realized she wouldn't get a single vote? And I wonder how Lauren would have done had she won the fire challenge. Next season does look good though

I wanted to slap Noura so bad through my TV.. she drove me UP the freaking all and bugged the hell out of me that she was one of the final 3. I understand taking someone who just won't win, but I hate it to. I want three GOOD players up there, not three eh players who got lucky. I guess they did Outwit but still... Kellee was so nervous I really don't think she really said too much anyways. I loved seeing Boston Rob/Amber's girls.. I didn't realize they had four girls!! They were super cute. I think it's time Survivor revamps up the show... I don't know what they could do, but it's all getting so predictable now...

Don’t have time to write much at the moment, but the pea who said that John chose not to be there, can you elaborate? I was surprised not to see him and wondered what that was about. For now, I’ll leave you with these links: Janet’s Ponderosa

Dean really came across as an arrogant douche in his speech and answers for the jury. I don't know if this was THE worst season, but it wasn't good. The final 3 was meh.
And it's Sia's money and she can do what she wants, but it seemed odd to give one player such a substantially smaller amount than the other two. And I was surprised she didn't give Kellee anything.

FTR, I haven't watched the whole show, giving up after Noura won the final II and the fire starting scramble started. I'm disappointed to hear Dean got any votes. I absolutely HATED that the tribe was moved to live in the relative luxury of the Island of the Idols and couldn't get past that.

I think the whole Sia thing is just weird. The guy got $15,000, right?? I kinda missed that part. That is a huge difference. She gave that to him because of the racist type comment?

DD is my source, so I can't link you to anything, but she said Elizabeth and Jack are dating. Elizabeth was vilified for her role in the Kellee/Dan/Janet touching episode and didn't want to attend the reunion. Jack stayed away to support her. I haven't watched the show, but heard Jeff said "Jack couldn't be here" and haven't heard what, if anything, he said about Elizabeth not being there.

I think the whole Sia thing is just weird. The guy got $15,000, right?? I kinda missed that part. That is a huge difference. She gave that to him because of the racist type comment? Jamel got 15,000 and Elaine and Janet each got 100,000 if I'm remembering it correctly from last night. I also thought it odd that Kellee got nothing, but I was very happy for Janet and especially for Elaine. I was very happy that Kellee finally got to say something and that the whole issue was finally addressed. But I also thought that Kellee was restricted in what she was allowed to say. It wasn't live so it's not like it was all nerves-they could have just done another take, right? To me it was basically Jeff apologizing for Survivor not acting quickly enough and if they had to do it all over again they would have reacted much stronger and had Dan removed much sooner. That they learned alot and would make a lot of changes and would Kellee help them come up with a plan for those changes. Kellee said she would. If I were Kellee I'm not sure I could have said that after all that had happened, meaning I'd want to just leave the whole Survivor thing behind me. I was very happy to hear Jeff say what I thought should have happened-Dan should have been out much sooner-there should be no tolerence for what he did. It wouldn't surprise me if Kellee decides to sue either Dan or Survivor. As far as the game-I didn't like that they got to go live in luxury at the fancy camp Boston Rob built over at Island of the Idols but I think it was a way to show off Boston Rob's camp making skills. He said he was going to build the best camp Survivor's ever seen and this was a way to show that off. Did I like it-no! I thought it was undo luxury that other season's last 3 Survivor players haven't gotten so why should they? I really don't like the way the final 3 is decided (I said that above) but I really, really don't like the way the final tribal is done. I like that they are asked about Outwit, Outlast and Outplay or whatever it is, but I really preferred it when a final 3 or 2 got to first address the jury and plead their case, then every jury member came up one by one and asked a question or said their piece, then (this is very important) the final 3 or 2 got to have a one more chance to plead their case. The way it was last night there were many members on the jury who didn't even speak! I didn't mine Noura winning the last immunity challenge (she earned it) and Tommy earned his place next to her for being clever enough to get in her ear first and lie convincingly about not being able to make fire and to take him with her. Lauren though with those tears! My gosh. That surprised me. I guess she was shocked that Noura didn't take her. But seriously, you've lived on that island for 39 days and you've never made fire! Dean was the same way. Geez people! You know there might be a fire making challenge at the end and you don't practice during the entire 39 days? Janet sure did and it got her voted out-poor woman. No one wanted to go against her amazing fire making skills. There's got to be a safe middle there somewhere. Out of the three I'm okay with Tommy winning, but I wish it could have been Elaine, or Janet or Kellee. Looking forward to next season even though Sandra and Rob are both in it-but at least I can cheer when they get voted out.

I enjoyed the finale. I thought it was a good end, even if the second half of the season had a dark mark hanging over it. They did the right thing by finishing the Dan stuff (the island part) before the finale. I suspect some type of settlement was reached in the past few days; both Dan and Production were quite silent until earlier this week.
I'm looking forward to Season 40. I know a lot of people don't like returnee seasons, but I like them when it is all returnees so that they are on an even playing field. I can't imagine anyone letting Rob and Amber get to the end, so it will be fun to see how that resolves itself (and if I played with someone else, we'd go in with a plan to vote whichever of us was in the worse position out in the final 7-8 spot - it would be better for one of us to be with the jury planting seeds for the other one to win, and we wouldn't want to accidentally split the final vote). I'm not a fan of extinction island, but I get using it in this case - its meant to keep the favorites who might be voted out early on our screens longer.

I think this season was a bust...Island of the idols. And the winner..NEVER went to it. Never got any of their lessons.but still won. WOW. Doesn't seem like it made much of a difference then. I too, every yr am shocked that they don't know how to make fire. Isn't that something you would start practicing as soon as you found out you were going? and these are survivor fans? That boogles me. I'm ok with the winner. Would have loved Janet to win. A strong older woman. She made it a long ways though. good for her! I loved that Sia gave them that money. Have they announced this every yr? I don't remember them doing it on the past.

So, what should have been a really good season due to a great cast sort of limped along to a finish. I still enjoyed it, but it did leave a bad taste in the mouth. I was glad to see that Tommy won. I think he played a great game and deserved it.
I’ve moved on from the anger I felt toward some of the contestants over that whole Dan mess. Except for Dan; I’m still not convinced he’s learned anything or owned up to anything. The others I’ve forgiven. I think they’re probably pretty decent people that made some serious errors in judgment in the heat of the game. The cast has forgiven them, they’ve apologized, time to move on. That’s awesome to hear about Liz and Jack dating. I think they both should have shown up though. Not going feels like you’re hiding and ashamed. Get yourself back out there. Missy and Aaron came and seemed to enjoy themselves. I believe that people in general are forgiving.
I also wasn’t bothered by some of the things that bothered you guys. I wasn’t bothered by the final four getting to stay in Rob and Sandra’s place. I thought that was kind of cool. The finalists always get pampered with a great breakfast at the very end; this just took it a step further. It’s not like they were in a five star resort or that they got to stay there longer than a day or two. Now Survivor Fiji where one tribe had the laid out camp with all the luxuries all season long, that I didn’t like. But a day or two at the end for the finalists....eh.
I also didn’t mind Sia doling out that money as she chose. In the past they had that America’s favorite player and only one person got money and they stopped it many seasons ago. The fact that Sia basically picked that back up all on her own, sometimes giving multiple awards like she did this season, is wonderful. She started with Kaôh Rōng, which was season 32, when she gave Tai $50k. Since then she’s given out prizes every season I believe and the amounts vary. Also, she pays the taxes on the money so the whole amount is what the contestants get and I think that’s awesome. If I was Jamal, I’d be happy with whatever I got. Apparently Elaine and Janet’s stories moved her more. I hope she continues doing this. It’s fun to see a deserving non-winner get some extra money. Janet posted the cutest pic of her and Elaine and captioned it with something about swing from the chandeliers, sending out live and thanks to Sia.
Looking forward to season 40. There are some players I’m really not looking forward to seeing again and some I’m excited about. Will I be able to stomach seeing Rob and Amber together again? Not sure...lol.
