Today is quilting day. Hoping to finish that baby quilt so I can bind it this weekend and get it shipped off the first of next week. Next week is International Quilt Festival when nothing will get done other than classes, shopping and admiring gorgeous quilts on display. Stay tuned for my annual thread with photos of lots and lots of lovely quilts! Will start that on Wed night or Thursday.

elaine ... hugs. You deal with a lot of difficult and challenging situations. Ditto to what Ashley said, Elaine.

ashley, malibou, jeremysgirl, PLurker, gillyp, lainey, and those I may have missed, thanks for your ((hugs)) and good wishes - please never underestimate the impact your sentiments have on the internet, they help a great deal. I got a good long nap this morning, so will be well-rested when ds gets home from school today. ashley, your quilt is stunning. Positively beautiful. It is something that should be a treasure for generations to come. lainey, I can’t believe how multi-talented you are. The bags and the shawl look wonderful - wow!

A pair of manly slipper socks. My friend James at work told me his grandma used to make these for him when he was a kid. I made him a grown up pair. This is my husband modeling.

You are a very good friend. I just finished this week’s Nature’s Walk squares and have 4 of them on my blocking squares. I wasn’t sure I’d get this week’s done, but baseball and football over the past 2 days allowed me to catch up.

I have been asked to join the sewing club at the complex. Any ideas? Take some crocheting. I will try that.

I was in a mini makers heaven yesterday. Went with my Mister to a Dolls house miniatures sale with my recent Birthday money burning a hole in my purse. This is an annual event and though I had to stop and use my wheelchair after a while I had a wonderful time meeting all the people from the club I joined last month. I have so many lovely new things that it is going to keep me happy making kits and new minis for ages, and I have a haul of new fabrics and vintage lace. Hope you crafty peas are having a good weekend too.

I am trying to learn how to crochet. An art gallery/studio has a fiber art get together the 2nd Friday of the month so I am going to try to go to that every month.
The 18th I went to what is called "Fun at the Fairgrounds". Almost all of the Extension Homemakers Clubs in my county puts one on during the EHC year (July through June). This one was all about fall. We made a fabric pumpkin, wall hanging featuring pine cones, tea and cider mix, seed packets, cookbook, and an apple using a flower pot and saucer. It was fun.

Almost all of the Extension Homemakers Clubs in my county My mother was always involved in those County Extension classes after she quit working. That's something I miss being in a large city. Good luck with learning to crochet! One more finish for October, one more project out of my house! Completed the baby quilt today and it is already boxed up and ready to ship to a little boy in Wyoming tomorrow. Hope they enjoy it! The father is our fly fishing guide when we get the chance to go, so the fabrics were chosen with that in mind. I found the front fabrics at Quilt Festival last year. It's a collection by Patrick Lose. The river rock backing is by QT Fabrics. This time I used the Kyoto batting (50% cotton/50% bamboo). Really like quilting on it and found it to be a bit easier than Warm & Natural.

So, CAL ladies... anyone else have issues with that danged star square this week? I said some very filthy words while working on it. I can't tell you how many times I frogged it. I was seriously ready to just scrap the star and add in another pattern. But on their FB page, it was suggested that we use stitch markers. DUH!!! Seriously, I felt so stupid. I have stitch markers, no idea how I didn't think to use them. But, use them I did! I only have 2 squares done, but at least they are correct lol Using those stitch markers made all of the difference
