I didn’t make it but my MIL made it for me. I saw a post in here with a pic and sent it to her and she made it. I love it!

If you are interested in a kit, go to Delamores website, they have 15% off for Black Friday. As I haven't ordered from them before and agreed to some free patterns I got a code to to get another amount off, ended up paying just over £31. By the time I saw this, deramores was sold out of the kits and the necessary color for the background (need 10 balls), so I ordered from wool warehouse. I should be ready for another blanket by then. 😄 Oh, that's a shame but good wool warehouse had what you needed. What colours have you decided on? I picked the rose version, I know you are great at keeping up with a cal project, I'm not so good but happy to know someone else is taking this year long project on.

I picked the blue jewel toned one, but I subbed out cream for the white and am going to sub out some muted greens and pinks for some of the blues and that bright aqua. I really love the colors in the Rose version, but didn’t like how she did the middle pieces with some of the darker colors that aren’t symmetric in their placement. It breaks up and distracts from the pattern for me. I know that isn’t very clear, but that is the best that my muddled mind can think to describe it. So, I decided to go with the blues and sub out some colors to make it closer to the palette you’ll be creating. I think with patterns coming out only every two weeks, it should be doable. You are right, it will be looong though.

That is a beautiful blanket. I cannot wait to see elaine and wellway take it on. Elaine your substitutions sound very calming colored. Which I think will be nice on a busy pattern.

I took the asymmetrical effect to look like daylight had washed out some of the colours but another part that was folded retains a glimpse of the original colours. So I made my peace with that! I've done a couple of blue tone blankets and decided it was between the remaining two which the rose won. I really shouldn't take on another project, I'm so behind with others but I couldn't resist. Roll on Jan 3rd.

Here is a page with good pictures of the blanket done in each of the colorways spread out on a bed -it gives a good look at what the finished project should look like in each color pack: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-kaleidoscope-blanketIf you have already been doing blue, I agree that a change-up would be good. The nature’s path blanket I’m finishing up when I get home from vacation today has no blue in it! Which is a rarity for me because blues and purples are my colors.
