Hi, ladies, I cannot believe it's November already. I had grand plans of a relaxing crochet weekend but then that all went to hell. Not really, I just was busy and then got it in head yesterday that I needed to clean my house upside down and make manicotti for dinner. By the time I finally sat down last night I was mentally and physically whipped. And of course all my "therapy" animals wanted to sit with me. So I pulled out an easy one and I've been plugging along on something mindless. For your viewing pleasure I've got some pics.

I love the colours - they really pop with the black background! This is just a simple, mindless granny but seriously everybody who sees it wants it. I saw an inspiration one on lovecrochet Facebook and that's where I got the idea of the rainbow against the black. My sister is really pushing me on this one. She even offered me money for it.

jeremysgirl that is gorgeous! I wish I knew how to work with yarn. I'm better with vinyl and fabric. I've tried knitting, it was a big old tangled mess. I tried crochet and it required too much concentration for me. I'm a lazy crafter. I don't wanna have to count and follow a written pattern. LOL I've been sandblasting wine glasses and making fabric baby shoes.

Not crafted much lately, but mom wants a headband and can't find any that she like. So, I'm looking at crochet headband patterns trying to satisfy my picky mother. LOL

Those are beautiful seaexplore . Are you just playing or are you selling? Thank you! Both playing and selling. I taught myself how to do it for my parents 50th anniversary this past summer. I did champagne flutes. 36 of them to be exact personalized for each attendee! LOL Then I did stainless water bottles for the grandkids. These are for a christmas present order from a friend. I sell them for $10 per glass plus shipping. I have some sassy ones too.

seaexplore pm me if you'd be willing to make me a set like the bottom picture. This would make a fantastic Christmas gift for my mother. $10 per glass plus shipping and I'm sold.

jeremysgirl LOVE your blanket! I want to make one like this eventually. seaexplore Those are fantastic, I love fun wine glasses. I am still plodding along on the CAL. Finished 2 of the squares from last week. Will work on the other 2 this week, then get going on the bonus squares. Still need to finish up my table gifts for the Stampin Up convention, but I am waiting for an order from them that should be here Wednesday. Will crank out those this weekend. SO looking forward to the convention. Leaving next Friday, home next Sunday. 2 nights away from home. I feel horrible, but OMG I need it. DS is insane lately, typical toddler, and DH is just... DH. I need a break! I will be bringing my crochet with me though so I can crochet in peace Fri/Sat nights

I don't generally craft but I recently joined the newcomer's club in my area and they have almost 30 different groups to join. I joined the Craft group and this Thursday I'm going to make a *Thankful Basket*. I'll post a picture when I get home on Thursday.

I love both the afghan and the dogs “helping” you. seaexplore, those wine glasses are wonderful! What type of sandblaster do you use? I’ve made stencils with my Cameo and used paste etching stuff, but have never been really happy with the results. flute4peace, I’m thinking a hat with that yarn and Pom-Pom. Little girl or adult woman! tyra, I’m so glad that you are getting a few days away from home. It is a necessity for my mental health and it sounds like for you too. The crochet along isn’t going anywhere, so no worries- that’s an order! RedSquirrelUK, I love the candles! They are so pretty. Are they scented? What type of wax do you use? cadoodlebug, I’m so glad you are joining us! I thought of you just 30 minutes ago when I was using my FoodSaver to seal a roast for my sous vide. I’m looking forward to seeing your basket.

RedSquirrelUK I lit loads of candles while visiting churches in England. Very time I thought of you repurposing candles for your church. I love the shapes of the ones in your picture and the colours are so rich.

You know I think of you every time I use mine! The neat thing about the craft group I joined is the woman who organizes it comes up with awesome ideas, buys everything we need and just charges us $20 to participate! The first 20 crafters to reply to her invitation get to go!

Thank you malibou! If you visited the west country, you might have lit one of mine. Thank you elaine. No, these aren't scented, although I have some scented wax that I'll be using over the next few weeks in glass votives. You can't use scent in polycarbonate moulds because it damages the moulds. The wax is a mixture of random candle ends and wonky garage/loft/cellar candles donated by the congregations of 3 churches. I only pay for the wick and electricity and give my time. I've never bought any wax and I've been doing this for over 10 years. I'll be having a candle sale in each of the churches in our parish over the next few weeks, and the proceeds will go towards my favourite charity. The congregations will buy back their own wax! They make great Christmas presents too. Last year I raised nearly £400 and I'll be honest, I'm quite proud of that.

I am working on a directional sign. I plan to have it stand(or sit on an accent table) next to my photo (in frames on picture ledge shelves) wall. I found a freestanding sign (I didn't want one that has a stake for the ground...I want mine for indoors). My sign is 32 inches tall and has five boards. I found an on sale(7.99) halloween sign/stand. I took off the straw, wire and metal pumpkin and added a couple boards(it had three to start with), painted over the halloween sayings, but didn't love the solid color(too plain)....so I looked through my scrapbook paper stash and found five mix and match paper (distressed, polka dots, stripes, grunge, etc..) paper and mod podge them to the wood. I am currently in the fine tuning stage...I've cut the paper down around the edges of the wood boards, and have been gluing, sanding, etc...the rough edges. I am still finalizing the "words and sayings" that I want to add (using letter stickers and mod podge). So far, I like "photographs, story of my life, through the years" ....maybe memorable moments, because...every picture tells a story. It's a work in progress. Similar to this: (my boards are straight, not arrows)

I went to a fused glass class with my sister in law and made this. It has a night light behind it and looks pretty cool at night. Later this month we are going back to make a winter version of this with spruce trees and a snowman!!

This sort of thing Is so my taste! It’s really lovely. RedSquirrelUK your candles are such lovely colours for being made from odds and ends. I’m sure if I did it they would end up muddy looking.
