I finally finished my Fancy Forest quilt. It sat at the end of my bed waiting for the binding for far too long. The pattern is by Elizabeth Hartman and while it was definitely time consuming, her patterns are very well written and it went together quite smoothly.
(Sorry for the poor quality of the photo - it is a big quilt and it's too miserable outside for a decent shot)

I’m speechless. Your quilt is art gallery worthy. Wow.

Hi, ladies, I cannot believe it's November already. I had grand plans of a relaxing crochet weekend but then that all went to hell. Not really, I just was busy and then got it in head yesterday that I needed to clean my house upside down and make manicotti for dinner. By the time I finally sat down last night I was mentally and physically whipped. And of course all my "therapy" animals wanted to sit with me. So I pulled out an easy one and I've been plugging along on something mindless. For your viewing pleasure I've got some pics. I love both the afghan and the dogs “helping” you. seaexplore , those wine glasses are wonderful! What type of sandblaster do you use? I’ve made stencils with my Cameo and used paste etching stuff, but have never been really happy with the results. flute4peace , I’m thinking a hat with that yarn and Pom-Pom. Little girl or adult woman! tyra , I’m so glad that you are getting a few days away from home. It is a necessity for my mental health and it sounds like for you too. The crochet along isn’t going anywhere, so no worries- that’s an order! RedSquirrelUK , I love the candles! They are so pretty. Are they scented? What type of wax do you use? cadoodlebug , I’m so glad you are joining us! I thought of you just 30 minutes ago when I was using my FoodSaver to seal a roast for my sous vide. I’m looking forward to seeing your basket. My sandblaster is the cheapie red one from harbor freight. I think it’s like $20 without a coupon. I use my husbands job site compressor (he’s now a SAHD so I get use of his tools) and broken bags of sand from Lowe’s. I blast in the backyard and blow sand all over the place! Lol I started sandblasting because I wasn’t happy about the results from the cream, it wasn’t a good clean definition and solid design. Sandblasting is so much more fun and fast!

I went to a fused glass class with my sister in law and made this. It has a night light behind it and looks pretty cool at night. Later this month we are going back to make a winter version of this with spruce trees and a snowman!!
That sounds fun!

This sort of thing Is so my taste! It’s really lovely. RedSquirrelUK your candles are such lovely colours for being made from odds and ends. I’m sure if I did it they would end up muddy looking. Thank you! I'm sure yours wouldn't, because craft people know about colours.

I love this so much. It reminds me of the quilts in our local quilting show. I could look at them forever. However long were you working on it?

Sandblasted stemless wine glasses. These are so fun! I’m not a yarn crafter either. I’d like to be. I’m making silver bangle bundles for Christmas. Each dd will get 5 2 plain and 3 tailored to them. Initials and objects that fit their personality or that I’m able to cut really tiny. jeremysgirl I love that blanket.

The neat thing about the craft group I joined is the woman who organizes it comes up with awesome ideas, buys everything we need and just charges us $20 to participate! The first 20 crafters to reply to her invitation get to go! Wow! I need to find a group like that, how fun!

I can't even imagine the time that it took to do that, much less the talent. Beautiful!

roundtwo - I love that quilt! Great job! I've always wanted to do an Elizabeth Hartman quilt, but it will have to wait until I complete the ones in progress. Her quilt patterns are just the cutest!

Currently they are just plain bangles. Hopefully I can get to the studio on Friday. I don’t have soldering torches at home.

Thanks for the quilt love! Elizabeth Hartman's patterns are really well written and her instructions, tips and advice on colour placement are fantastic for those who like colour gradient quilts. This pattern also includes a layout of just a quarter of the blocks so it would make a nice baby quilt too. The sorting and cutting took probably three weeks - always my slowest part of the process! I took a week for each animal in the quilt and then another week to assemble it. I sent it out for quilting as there was no way that puppy was fitting under my domestic machine. And when I say a week, it probably amounts to about 5 or 6 hours of sewing time.

I got this at Aldi, I'm very challenged when it comes to making hats but I couldn't resist that little pom pom
