I have about 20 rows left on the Attic24 Hydrangea blanket. It is beautiful, but I'm looking forward to finishing it and starting up a new project. I made a hat last weekend using Lion Brand's Color Made Easy yarn - It's great. I plan to use my Joann's coupons to put together some inexpensive hats for Christmas gifts.

tyra, blocking acrylic yarn doesn’t really work very well. Because it is all synthetic, it doesn’t really stretch out when wet and then hold that shape. Why don’t you try blocking a couple of squares and then decide if you think the finished/blocked squares are different enough that you want to do all of them? tyra your squares look awesome! I don't block acrylic. They will smooth out when you join them. I think it's going to be beautiful. Thank you ladies! elaine, I like the idea of trying to block a couple. jeremysgirl The fact that they will smooth out while joining is encouraging! I have quite a while to go before I have to think about that, but trying to be prepared

Oh man phoenixcov I was right by you. I won't make the mistake again of not asking who is about when I travel.

I can't remember if I've posted about the granny square afghan I'm making for my mom! I'm using Red Heart ombre in deep teal -- one skein per square, which comes to nearly 2 feet square. I'm on the fifth out of six squares! Hopefully I can get it done in time for Christmas!

I would love to see it, and see the completed quilt.

May I join in? I just started trying my hand at wreath making. If they turn out ok I’m going to give them to family and friends during the holiday season. I’d love any constructive criticism or tips. I’m not super creative. (Grrr...I don’t know why they’re sideways but if you tap on them they show up correctly.)

The ombre starts in a different spot in each skein, so each square is slightly different.

Judy26 your wreaths are gorgeous and I particularly like your colour choices. I would happily display them! That pink camo is lovely flute4peace and both my boys (men) would wear the other.

I just received a newsletter from one of my favorite fabric companies with some new collections. There is one that I thought those in countries that observe Remembrance Day might like. It is designed by Bec Williams for Hawthorne Supply Co. and is called Remembrance. My favorite of the line is the one below, called Poppy Fields. These would make a lovely quilt for a memory quilt I think.

Judy26 those wreaths are gorgeous! I love your color choices. I have always wanted to make those ribbon wreaths. Is there somewhere to get instructions? Someone shoot me now. Just what I need to do, start another hobby.

Just what I need to do, start another hobby. I actually learned from watching YouTube videos. They are quite easy to do. I’ve gone to the dark side and spent more than I care to admit buying deco mesh and ribbon. I want all of the pretty ribbon and no one can stop me! (Insert evil laugh here.)

cadoodlebug I think it's adorable! And I agree with elaine that it would be perfect as a table centerpiece. I'm still plugging away at making squares. Work is sucking the life right out of me lately. But I'm coming up on a three day weekend so I'm looking forward to a lot of downtime to crochet. tyra and elaine how are you guys coming along? I'm finally done with all of the regular squares. Started the bonus ones that I didn't do tonight. Working on the wheat squares now, about halfway through the first one. DS is cuddled up next to me, watching The Grinch lol The animated one that came out last year, super cute and lots of funny parts. We have been alternating between this and Nightmare Before Christmas the past 2 or so weeks. 🤷♀️ My mom wanted to see what squares I had done last night, so I took this to show her. Not pictured is the last square of the last pattern, and the extra butterfly one I made. Oops. I'm concerned that they aren't all the same size. Hopefully they will look ok after I get them all together. The colors are so much brighter in the picture than in person, thankfully. This is acrylic yarn. A lot of the ladies on the Ravelry and FB groups say they arent going to block the acrylic ones. I'm torn. Thoughts? Wow, where is the group on Ravelry for this? Love this!

It’s called the Spiral Step Hat, link is here www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spiral-step-hatI used a RHSS and an ILTC held double with an L hook. And I started out with a knit brim and then switched to crochet for the body of the hat (pattern calls for a crocheted brim). I really like the pattern and will use it again. My hats brought $55 and went to the person who had “wished for” the pink camo, plus she can use the men’s hat for a Christmas gift, so it was a success all around! I’m excited to see everyone’s CAL progress!

Wow elaine your blanket is beautiful.
I'm quite a few rows into my hat and I can tell it's going to be way too big for me, I've done too much to frog it so it will probably end up going to the charity shop. My husband very nicely told me I do have an unnaturally small head

It's called the Nature's Walk crochet along. It's by Cherry Heart in partnership with Black Sheep Wools. There is a thread on ravelry. But the Facebook page is a lot more active. Elaine, tyra, and I are doing it. Pahina722 has got it in the works I think but has not said she started. Elaine posted a pic above for me so I could see a specific square. Hers is the same blanket as tyras in a different colorway. I'm way behind but I hope to have mine done by Christmas.

Oh elaine it is looking so beautiful. I'm still on the fence about the snowflake square but damn your blanket is looking good. Thank you! I will finish with the joining by tonight - hopefully the set-up for the edging too, although that might be tomorrow. The snowflake square is a fairly easy variant - I’d go ahead and make that one, if I were you. If you were going to skip one or more, I’d think about the last two squares. While the lacey outer rows looks nice, because the squares are being crocheted at such a tight gauge, you have to block the heck out of both of those squares to get them up to standard size and get the lace to open up. And when the blanket gets washed, those squares will need to be blocked again or will pucker up the blanket.

I actually did start it yesterday. My Battenberg is on hold until I get more yarn, and I was getting itchy seeing y’all talk about your progress! I did the gauge swatch square (dead-on at 16 cm) and then finished two Gate squares from Week 1. I will be finishing the other 2 Gate squares today and moving to theButterfly squares. So I suppose I’m only , what, 7 weeks behind? Like jeremysgirl, I think I can get it done by Christmas, especially since I bought the kit and have all the yarn I need ready to go.
