I would look at it in the same was as "I'm KETO, let me talk about that incessantly" or "I'm CrossFit, let me talk about that incessantly"... I really don't give a shit. But if that is your thing - great. I'll scroll on by. Just as I am sure people scroll by my stuff, even though I don't post much. LOL But it's better than the MLM stuff. Whenever I get a 'friend' request - I play the game "Is this for MLM sales" .. probably! Usually! Go away! LOL

I haven't had a dog at our place in quite a few years now. But one of mine was a determined escape artist. He would break through the barrier of the underground electric fence and mosey down to the neighbors dead hog pile and have a nice roll.
It would make your eyes water when he came back. He HATED baths, but he had to have one. I had to keep him on his leash for a bit after the bath or he would try to make a break again for another roll. Evidently, he thought it smelled wonderful!
This dog could also go out in the corn field and get an ear of corn. A random fully shucked ear of corn would just be sitting in my yard. Wonder Dog! LOL

Is this another photo taken by the Duchess? Yes. She's so good at capturing the children She's got a degree in Fine Arts. Photography is one of the modules covered in the degree. I really do like her photographs. I am sure the subject is much more natural when Mom is taking the picture too! I wonder how many professional photogs are rankled by this. I have an acquaintance who has been a professional photographer for decades. His picture quality is very good, but the photographs themselves are boring. Just dull. He also b!tche$ a lot about the "Mother's with Camera's" ... I mean a LOT. But honestly, those Mom's With Camera's photos are so much better than his. There are a couple who have turned it into a full time business and their portraiture is amazing! There are a couple others who do it professionally and shouldn't ... lol But even phone pictures now can be amazing. I think some people are truly gifted though. Whether they have a $$$$ camera setup or a phone, there are just some people who have that artful gift. The Duchess is a lucky one of those!

I would 100% not go in, and I also would probably wish I had. LOL
Those darn sprains can be so painful for SO long! Even if you went in and they have you some PT to do, to get it strong again, that would be good. It so frickin' easy to re-sprain them after injury.

I always order a small Coke. Almost every time they either give me a large or ask me if I wouldn't rather have a large, since they are the same price. Nope. Ijust want a small Coke. I don't drink a lot of pop, but I love McD's Coke and I just want a little zip! I ordered a plain cheeseburger once. Meaning I didn't want ketchup, mustard, or onions on it. Just cheese on it. They asked me to repeat my order. I said a "plain CHEESEburger". I got a hamburger. No cheese. The other stuff was left off too, but no cheese. Hey - you got a burger at least. I got halfway home and realized I only had bun. No meat. It was plain alright. No meat, no cheese, no nothing.. LOL DH was adamant that our kids learned how to 'think' . He thought our schools did a great job educating our kids, but did not teach them how to THINK! I agreed. They learned how to think while working for us. They were given a task and told what the end result needed to be. They had to think about how they would complete it. Did it always get done right? Nope. But when it was wrong we would ask them what did they think went wrong. Most of the time they figured out on their own what the issue was. They could often come up with better ways of completing tasks, too. I see it so often now, from McDonald's to all kinds of other places. If there is not a button to push for that specific process, a lot of people are dumbfounded.

Good Luck! My DS begged and pleaded to be a lifeguard at 15. That was the social high point of the summer. He loved doing it, but had to stick to mostly evenings and not a full week schedule because he worked for us on the farm. But we knew that working outside the farm was important for our kids to gain those life skills!

I'm not on TikTok -- definitely not my generation. What generation are you? I love TikTok and I am in my mid 50's! LOL There is so much BS on TikTok though. For Pete's sake, don't believe everything. But there will be idiots that do. ... totally not directing that comment to your teen daughter, but to the idiots that think they can do that!

I don't have any kids in school anymore. Our district has been in person since last August. They had/have all sports also. There was a modified plan for spectators, but now that it is all outdoor sports, I do not know if there are any restrictions.
They dropped the mask mandate in the school earlier this month.
Our county numbers sit at zero. Weekly average is zero.
They had Prom last weekend. Everything is going well right now.
I do live in a much lower population area, and this is a huge factor.

We ended using ammonia and it worked great...but I did read you shouldn’t do that all the time? I’m in agreement with you about two passes. When we land in our new home I’ll be doing this. I've used ammonia on my vinyl floors for 30 years. No issues, other than learning I need to open my windows for some fresh air! Nothing cleans floors like ammonia, but I am not sure it would be great for all surfaces. Vinyl- no problems. Wood and other surfaces, I am not so sure about. But it's cheap, and it out-cleans everything. Just never mix anything in with it

Some of what I see people use on TikTok makes me cringe. I see some dump a massive amount of Dawn or other soap in. That is going to leave a film!
The best cleaner for me is ammonia. I wouldn't use that on wood though. It is amazing on vinyl.
Are you going back with a bucket of clean water and clean mopping after using the soap? I really think floors need two passes at least. Once with cleaner, then one with just plain clean water.

I will wait a few weeks, and see what happens. Then proceed... I would talk to them as soon as you can. I know it can be a tricky discussion, and I would try to be as nice and 'sane' as possible... but I do not like dogs peeing on my grass. The urine can have a lot of urea in it and that can leave yellow spots. That's why I don't have a dog at my house anymore I love the puppers, but I love having a beautiful green yard. So the dogs are all farm dogs and live at our main farm. But I would introduce myself and explain that the dog pee isn't OK. You are glad they are picking up the POO, but regular pee on your yard is a no-go. I can understand the occasional "Pupper's GOT to go NOW" ... but on a regular basis - NOPE. But they are training their dog to pee in your yard. Not acceptable. Not at all.

Sadly, dealerships sometimes do not respond to women. dh was was at the parts department in a dealership once and I went to browse the new cars. No salesperson approached me. When dh came to look at the cars a salesperson approached my husband and asked him questions. Oh man - I have had this happen. They called my DH later to talk about selling a car. DH said, "My wife was in looking, but you wouldn't deal with her. She went to a different dealership and bought a truck there." ... I had a salesman actually tell me he would talk to DH about the truck and 'get back to me'. UGH!. I walked out. I typed out a timeline with dates, times, who I encountered, and a transcript of what was said. I’m printing that off and holding in my hands when I go Monday. You rock! You are handling this so well! I hope for the best for you!

First and foremost - DO NOT APOLOGIZE!
I think we, as women, sometimes have this programmed into use. I have virtually taken "I'm Sorry" out of my vocabulary. It's there when it is TRULY needed, but I have become more assertive and take NO SHIT from people who behave like this man did. ZERO!
I would be pursuing this, and I would be very assertive. YOU CAN DO IT! You will be amazed at how you will get treated differently.
I am 100% sure I get called a bitch and a "Karen" (I hate that term) behind my back, but they might as well do it to my face, because I am not putting up with getting treated like shit because I am a girl! That game is over.
.... I sometimes terrify my DH... lol

My house was never crazy with kids (well not once they were past the 'little kid' age). I missed my kids when they moved out, but it was a gradual, one at a time, move out. So it got quieter slowly. Now when they are all home, I love it, but when they are gone - whew! It's really nice to have the house back and quiet! For some reason I don't worry about them at all when they aren't living here. When they are - I worry about them out at night. DH took it hardest when our last, our son, moved out of state. He was find when he went off to college, which was 2 hours away. But when that kid drove out of the driveway to move across the country - I was NOT prepared for the emotions that hit my DH. They spent a lot of time together working on the farm, and boy was I blown away with the emotions that hit my usually very stoic husband! That upset me more than my DS moving!

It's a POWER thing, where 2 or more people try to be the most powerful over others. This can happen in any part of the country, in any decade, it's all about the personalities of the meal participants. Like sibling rivalry being acted out in a restaurant. My opinion is, that whatever the reason is, it's poor manners. Really? I don't think that at all! I guess if a person was very aggressive about always paying, to show power and supposed wealth, yea... But if I go help my buddy pull a calf and he picks up our supper that weekend, I am good with that. If he doesn't pick up the tab, I am good with that too.

Midwesterner here.
We go out with friends almost every weekend.
We usually split the tab.
Sometimes one or the other will pick up the full tab - but it depends. Sometimes for Birthdays or Anniversaries, or if someone has done a 'solid' we pick up their tab. *A "solid' is that they might have helped us pull a calf, watched gates while we moved stock, something small and not hugely time consuming that we would normally pay them for doing.
I will also buy a round of drinks for a table of friends that I know at a bar/restaurant that aren't setting with us.
It isn't unusual for us to get a couple rounds bought for us, if we are at a place that we know a lot of people. Often a round is purchased when that person is leaving and they just add it to their check.
Our fuel supplier is famous for that. We get a round on Dave - but Dave is no where to be found. He has left already.

I don't go so much by my state, but by my county. The seven day average is 1. It seems like there is about one case a week, some weeks none. The highest count recently was 5 in early January.
Mask wearing is so/so. I do wear mine to grocery shop, but not everyone does. I don't wear it when I go out to eat, but I haven't been out to eat anywhere in about 3 weeks.
School has been back in session all year, starting in late August. Sports were 100%, although reduced crowds for some earlier sports.
Not too concerned about it in my immediate bubble of life.
If you want some indication of what my county is like. There is one stop light in the entire county, and it is about 40 miles from me.

If you can find the way it is getting into your house, fill it with steel wool and they also make rodent proof foam now.
Sometimes those little buggers just slip in through a door or hitchhike in on something brought it from the outside though.
I know the exact feeling when you see one of those darn things zip by. UGH!

Why are they choosing not to be vaccinated? If they’re COVID deniers who are not taking any precautions and still believing the ‘it’s just the flu’ BS, then no I would only visit with the outside and masked. I can totally understand the hesitancy of those who choose not to. It's not that they believe it's "Just the flu" .. but that they are looking at a quickly produced vaccine that is basically untouchable, as far as repercussions if there are serious issues down the road. You have to understand that some people have taken medications that were deemed as totally safe, only to find out later of horrible side effects. To hear the Government say "trust me it is safe" .. that right there can stop some right in their tracks, and I can understand why. Hopefully as more is known about it - and research is coming out every day - more will feel comfortable with getting it. I take precautions. I have taken many of the precautions for years, to avoid the seasonal flu. I am not ready to get the vaccine yet. I am not saying I absolutely will not get it, but I am not getting it right now. If I had to go to a crowded city and be around a lot of people in close proximity, I would reexamine my thoughts. I am not anti-vax. I vaccinated all my kids on schedule. I have tetanus vaccines as needed. I recently got the Tdap. I do not get the yearly flu vaccine.

In my little town the banks didn’t have to worry about noting the branch on the check because there were no bank branches. Just two banks w/ one location each. The banks were owned by local families. The merchant wouldn’t have asked to see a DL because everybody knew everybody. The bank clerks would have recognized the signatures on the checks so there was no reason to bother writing your account number on the check. This is exactly how my little town was - and almost still is. Two banks, locally owned. Small town, but the banks are actually pretty big, as far as the amount of money loaned, etc. They are small town Ag banks. I have moved away, but I still use a small town bank. Every teller knows my name. If there is any issue with anything, the give me a call. If I need to have anything verified, to purchase from a large online auction (machinery or livestock), my banker calls me first before giving them any info. Just to check and make sure the person calling is legit. I know the tellers are very good about watching out for older people not getting scammed. If they come in to withdraw money that is not normal, they can nicely make sure it isn't for one of those "bail the grandkids out of jail" scams. I remember when they put all the check on a big sorting table as they came in and would take each check and enter the relevant info onto your account sheet. They were done by hand. If you did not have enough money in your account to cover the check, it would be left on the table until Friday. Actually, some check asked the bank to hold the check for them until a date that was written down. Not everyone lived in town, and coming back to the bank in a few days just was not feasible. Of course this was in the days when we had party lines on our phones, and had to pay extra for a private line. Parent's could send their children to the store with a list and no money and it would be added to the account which was "settled up" at the end of the month, and we paid someone to come in and iron our clothes, which took at least a day each week. ( I used to do that to earn extra money when we first got married.) Sometimes we have a big check that we have written for calves and our big checks for cattle sold is a few days behind that coming in to the bank. My banker will 'float' me for a few days. The check paying for the calves gets cashed, but he floats my account until the payment for the fats come in. I just let him know what is going on. I loved the grocery store in my hometown. I could go buy a Dr. Pepper and a candy bar and 'charge' it to my parents. LOL I also went with a list for my mom and brought the groceries home in my bicycle basket! The only hard and fast rule was when the street lights came on - you better be headed home!

Oh heck yes! I remember counter checks! My little town had two big banks! Every store in town had a book of counter checks for each bank. So did the bar. The bar was where I usually used one. I didn't even have to write my account number on it. You just had to make sure you grabbed the right bank - but if you goofed, they just called you up and had you fix it. Small town living! LOL Everybody knows your business, but sometimes that isn't so bad. The other day, Travelers Checks came up in a movie, and I was wondering if those still exist. I remember buying them ONCE - and it was a hassle. This was before 'ATMs are everywhere' days. I am glad Travelers Checks are a thing of the past. What a huge pain! Heck - even the ATM is getting archaic. My kids pay each other and at a lot of business with Venmo or CashApp. I'm calling Venmo the "Counter Check" of the modern day I can still get blank checks from my bank when I run out of checks. They pre-print the routing number and account number on the bottom and I just use my address stamp to put my name on it. Those are not the same as a counter check. I still write a surprising large amount of checks each month for bills. I do pay a lot online, but in the farming/ranching business - checks are still very important. We quite often buy replacement calves out of sale barns in Colorado, South Dakota or Nebraska. It is normal for the calves to arrive on our farm and then we write the check to pay for them and drop it in the mail... this is to the tune of $200,000 to $300,000! They know if you can't pay - and they know if you CAN! Reputation is everything in the cattle business.

My bank will keep running a check for a few times, if I ask.
If I didn't get my funds within 2 weeks, I would have asked them for a certified check. That is as good as cash.

That's very cool!
We practice almost 100% no-till farming. This leaves a lot of organic matter on top of the ground. After a few years, the soil becomes very healthy and has a healthy structure that holds moisture well and is also FULL of earthworms. He will hold off on some pesticide applications, if the break even isn't crazy.
My DH is always excited to show me how many worms his fields have! LOL So I understand your excitement over worms!

This was someone with all the resources and advantages available. It makes me wonder how much we are actually able to do as a society in getting others to accept help. This was so tragic. You raise a very good question. I always wish that there could be more resources for people to turn to, and yet there are very many avenues of help that people refuse. Suicide has touched my life, and I am not sure if I know anyone who's life, in some way, has not been impacted by it. I weep for the young people who think that is the only way out. I have talked to a person who failed and realized what he thought was an impossible situation really wasn't. I know this woman was mentally ill, but what she did to that train engineer bears discussion. She is not without repercussion for this. Her end is just a beginning of nightmares for that engineer.
