It is *here*, my dear fellow 2PRefugees, the spring 2020 MEGAAA Crop is upon us! EEEP, so exciting... Our down under crafters will wake up to their Friday morning soon, then the EuroPeas will join and before you know it, everyone's weekend will have begun. Joining the MEGAAA Crop is as easy as joining any discussion: just hop in, make yourself comfortable, introduce yourself and start chatting. Everyone is welcome, every craft embraced. You don't have to be scrapbooking or making cards, you can also knit, sew, paint, art journal, etc. This is *your* crop, *your* thread. Chat away, ask questions, make ALL the jokes. The only requirement is to have fun! To share your projects, embed your social media posts or photos right in here! You can use the #2PRMEGAAACROP hashtag on social media to help fellow croppers find your work. There are 3 daily challenges (Friday-Sunday): 1 technique, 1 thematic, 1 colour-based. You are not required to complete thess to participate. They are meant as extra incentive and inspiration. I will update this post with the new challenges daily. Team Challenge players: points count double this weekend! You can earn extra points for completing the daily challenges as well. If you wish to document the crop, I've created a special checklist-type file (A4 format) that can be cut down to fit a TN page, 6x8 insert or added to a LO. Grab it on dropbox (no need to sign in to download it, just wait until it loads and hit the download button in the right-side column) and fill it as the weekend unfolds, creating your very own personalised MEGAAA Crop memorabilia. Friday challenges: 1. (technique) Put it in pocket | It's only March, still winter so don't get too excited and expose everything! Let's keep something hidden today. For today's technique challenge, find a way to keep something tucked away. Hidden journaling? Pocket to hold a few extra photos? Stiching a vellum overlay for a dreamy haze effect? Shaker pocket? 2. (thematic) Verbal with a hint of verbose | March is the month of many things related to communication and writing: listening awareness, non-fiction reading + writing and poetry. Let's embrace this wordy theme and take the time to pen or type something down. For scrappy projects, can you make an extra effort in the journaling part? How can you include other people's voices in your storytelling? Can you tell it from someone else's point of view perhaps? Or can you make a page about related activities (reading, having a chat with a loved one, buying books, etc.)? Cardmakers, don't hesitate to leave a more personalised or slightly poetic sentiment inside your card. Maybe you can add some graphic design around letters? Or add a speech bubble somewhere? Maybe you have a stamp set laying around with book-related imagery? 3. (colour) Pretty in Pastel | With Easter and spring just a few weeks away, embrace the pastel tones for your project. Keep it light and low in contrast on the eye... Southern Hemisphere folks are welcome to use traditional autumn colours as a seasonal alternative!

Thanks for setting this up sleepingbooty. What is the official open/close time for the crop (as far as grammadee 's extra points go)? And how does that work with the easy peasy scoring?

Thanks for setting this up sleepingbooty . What is the official open/close time for the crop (as far as grammadee 's extra points go)? And how does that work with the easy peasy scoring? We are on the honour system, as usual. Start your double pointing when it is Friday for YOU. Stop as soon as it is Monday for you. Anything you create or can earn points for during those 3 days counts DOUBLE for you. Whether you score old school or easy easy method.

I am not doing much, marie: it is all sleepingbooty. Spent the day getting ready for tomorrow finding and cutting things out to use on my pages. Not sure what I will do for Friday's challenges though. No alot of pastelle in the hockey world (and those are the pages I am prepping for). And often not alot to say, either. My hockey pages are usually pretty photo heavy and the colours are usually stark or bright. Now what I might do is sneak in a couple of pages for my mini album about me I started last month. Lots of teals and pinks in the kit supplies, and I could easily talk forever if I got going on a topic there. And maybe I could play with some mists....

Yay!!😀
My scrappy time starts tomorrow after work.
Already have a few photos set aside.
Also thinking about trying to finish/work on an album of a trip from twenty+ years ago.

Thanks for doing this again, sleepingbooty. I'm at the farm and on DH's laptop so forgive typos and extra letters hanging out in my posts. Miss my keyboard and large screen. I was going to do some chores this morning out of the house but it's snowing this morning. A good reason to wait for this afternoon when it should be clear. Sounds like it's also a good reason to start a page or two.

Yes, thak you sleepingbooty! Beautiful tag @kendramage My first project this morning was to make a small change to a layout that was bugging me. The balance just felt off to me. I started this one a while ago, but I feel better about it now since adding the stripey bit on the right. Though, now that I'm looking at the photo, it feels too heavy on the right, so I'm going to add a few black hearts and dots and bits around those two aqua hearts, or maybe way over on the left side. Still, an improvement, I think.

Afternoon everyone! It's a gorgeous sunny day in London today. I had to help a friend out this morning with something so now I'm going to work on this month's One Little Word for half an hour before I have to pick up the kids from school. It's so nice to do this! It's a legitimate excuse to ignore the laundry : : Thanks for organising, sleepingbooty !

Saying a hello to everyone before we head out: Niagara Falls this weekend for a dance competition! I'm excited. But oh. my. gosh. If I could go back to my 20 year old self and tell me that I was going to be a dance-mom, that 20 year old me would laugh her head off! DH and I HATE the stage. I actively avoid being the centre of attention. DH is super athletic, but completely without music in his body. I'm really musical, but far far from graceful. Somehow, our better attributes merged in the girl of ours. We woke up to a SURPRISE snow dump - even the weather network was caught off guard! We have a solid 6 inches so far and it's supposed to continue for another few hours. Fortunately, it's relatively warm so the roads will be OK. The trees are all white and poofy and pretty! I'm going to pop in and chat occasionally this weekend - lots of sitting around time at competition. msliz - love the black and white stripe!

kitbop, have a great time at Niagara! Will your crew be stopping at the falls for pictures? This is proving to be the morning for finishing up old layouts! I just glued the "snapshots" tag together and put it in place (and, yup, that's me,) and on the other one I finished it off by adding the receipt and tiny photos to it. Done and done.

msliz, that black and white stripe you added is perfect. I love seeing you. It was a shock though, because I expected to see your cape flowing behind. You are so cute. We need to see more of you. I love all the photos collaged together. Such a great look. I love your touches of black and white stripes. I need to invest in some of those. Beautiful pages!

Good job, msliz getting those pages out of limbo and into the "DONE" pile! Great way to start a weekend of scrapping! Will look at them in detail later. Here is my first Friday LO. I was CHALLENGED to say the least with today's challenges, sleepingbooty , since my plan was all hockey pages all weekend.... But I managed to use a more pastel vibe on this hockey page. Helped that their jerseys are white, blue & green. For journaling, I ended up using a screenshot of my ddil's post. Nothing in an envelope or hidden here. (I remembered the challenge as "dressing in layers". Note to self: NEVER trust my memory ) Used KikiPea's Sketch/Scraplift challenge for LO design. I printed that one off. Made some changes, but at least the first page is pretty true to the sample she posted. Heart & Hustle by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Hoping to continue working this morning on the hockey pages I have been planning the last couple of days. Still need to make a few decisions with them, but have a sketch for each, and the photos and papers are already chosen.

my mojo is struggling this morning - I need to clean my house before DH gets back from collecting DD19 for Spring Break and I want to scrap and neither seems to be off to a stellar start. I did manage a card for the 29-4-29 day 11 challenge - I didn't scrap in February so I'm going back and catching up.

grammadee , great colors! If you don't mind me asking, what collection are those papers from? They rock! I love that horizontal star strip and those chevrons too. You have a real talent for those sports pages! Linda , I didn't get much finished in February either. Started a few though. That's a really pretty embossing folder you used on your card. I like the green too. nylene , yeah, my cape didn't make it into those photos. I only wear it when I'm actively and purposefully procrastinating! hop2, it's not too late to go home early

I should have taken off work for this lol Me too!! The dogs got me up early this morning so I did a little prep before I clocked into work. I cut some card sentiment strips. During my break or lunch I’ll cut the backing layer and maybe even put them together. Of course today is my late work day
