I really liked Tiny Pretty Things, on Netflix.
"After an attack brings down the star student at a ballet school, her replacement enters a world of lies, betrayal and cutthroat competition."
Fabulous dancing and an interesting storyline. DD thought I was crazy for watching it but she was hooked also. She recommended Selling Sunset which is older, very fluffy but the homes are beautiful

Apple + recommendation-Defending Jacob. Chris Evans😍 is so good as the dad. I thought it was an excellent adaptation of the the book till the end. Why did they have to change it? It wasn’t better or less ambiguous than the book ending. Ugh, that’s my only complaint.

I watched Seduced: Inside the Nxivm cult which was interesting in a dark and omg kind of way. This is on Starz.
And Bridgerton on Netflix. It was cute.
Plus I’m watching Your Honor on showtime. Really good.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Last night I watched the movie The Dressmaker, with Kate Winslet, on Netflix. Worse viewing of the year for me. Stay away. Thank me later. I loved that film and would recommend it! While I didn't love the film, I liked it a lot. It was very interesting.

We finished Shitt$ Creek last night ~ it was like saying good-bye to fun friends. <sigh> We were among those who didn't like it at first but, thanks to the Peas who encouraged us to continue, we ended up loving it!

Watched some really good movies yesterday.
Promising Young Woman (‘20 AmazP / Vudu). They take a normal plot line like “revenge” and flip it into something you don’t see coming. It’s nothing like the descriptions I’ve read on-line. 5 STARS !!!!
Wolves at the Door (‘16 Vudu/AmazP) Scary thriller based on Charles Manson. 4 Stars.
The Big Miracle (‘12 Netflix). People in Alaska people trying to save 3 whales that are stuck. 3 Stars.
Cold Comes The Night (‘13 Showtime) Bryan Cranston transporting stolen money goes bad. 3 Stars.

We watched I'm Your Woman with Rachel Brosnahan (Mrs. Maisel) on Prime last night. It is the story of Jean who is forced to go on the run with her baby after her husband betrays his partners in crime. It is really a different kind of part for Brosnahan and she looks totally different as a blond.
We had planned to watch something on Netflix (a continuation of Longmire) but for some reason couldn't get Netflix to work although it's fine this morning.
Anyway, we thought the movie was good and had some very tense moments.

I just found a show on Prime (it's not new, it's been out awhile) that I just love because it's what I've been looking for for quite some time. It's called "The Island with Bear Grylls". It's a reality show that says it's "a group of British men and women are taken to a remote uninhabited Pacific Island by Bear Grylls and left completely alone for six weeks with nothing but cameras, the clothes they are wearing and some basic tools." Oh yeah!!! Right up my alley. I love survival shows. I think it's because I started reading about sailing around the world as a teen in the book "Dove" by Robin Lee Graham. That led to a life long desire to sail around the world and because I love reading I read as many books about sailing as I could find including many about surviving sailing disasters at sea. Surviving on a deserted tropical island has always intrigued me as a result.
This show is really good I think. It's very realistic. I started with the 2nd season (there are 3 in all) because the first season only included men. In the second season the women are dropped off on one island and the men on the other. The episodes are shown with one episodes showing the women's island and the next the men's. It was so interesting to see the differences between how the men handled things vs. the women. I also really love the British terminology and slang that is used. So far I've finished with season 2 (which was incredible) and am half through season 3. I've already learned to take multiple gill nets and Hawaiian slings (with snorkel masks and fins) on my sail boat with me when I finally get a chance to sail across oceans on my long awaited dream journey. I have a little journal where I write down all of the things I've learned here and there and that is going in there. Along with metal jerry cans and multiple ways to make fire.

Holy moly. I started The Queen’s Gambit last night and made it through the first 2 episodes. I am HOOKED and disappointed that S1 is only 7 episodes. SOOOOO GOOD. This is a show that I wish I had someone to watch it with to be able to talk about it afterwards, KWIM?

I watched The Queen's Gambit 2x (made my husband watch it the second time; he loved it!) and read the book. Loved it!
I am currently watching season 2 of Virgin River and enjoying it.
My brother had me watch The Wrong Missy movie with David Spade on Netflix. Totally raunchy but I did LOL a bunch.
This is older but my Facebook memories recently reminded me I watched with DH in 2016 and we loved it. 11.22.63 (Stephen King's novel) on Hulu with James Franco. He is sent back to the 60s to stop the assassination of JFK. Its only 8 episodes. I remember loving it so I am re-watching now and have gotten my parents, a brother and my daughter and her boyfriend to all watch it this week. lol Everyone gave it two thumbs up!

I think I’m too late in the game for that, especially because I don’t want any spoilers. I’m at the part where we start seeing $$ in Mrs Wheatley’s eyes.

I saw FATALE (‘20) with Hilary Swank. She plays a detective in a cat n mouse game to ultimately get back at her husband. It was just ok for me; not up to her usual standards for me. Generous 3/5 Stars.

Watched a very good series yesterday. Only 6 episodes, about an hour each.
COYOTE with Michael Chiklis.
I’m hoping for another season since the first season doesn’t have an ending. I still was entertained by season 1 and recommend it.

Tonight we watch 2 (of 6) episodes of The English Game created by Julian Fellowes on Netflix. I’m watching with dh and he was ready for bed, but I didn’t want to turn it off. If you enjoy historical series, check it out.

I've been busy watching TV lately and have added the following to my ever growing list of binged tv shows:
Power and the spinoff Power Book 2: Ghost on Starz. I enjoyed both very much and I am looking forward to the two other spinoffs they have on deck.
Defending Jacob, The Morning Show & Ted Lasso on Apple+. Ted Lasso was great - it was a fun, feel good show and thoroughly enjoyable. The Morning Show was really good. I didn't expect to like it much bc I'm not a Jennifer Aniston fan but it's well done. I'm anxious for a second season of both shows. Defending Jacob - it's based on the book but apparently with a different ending (it's now on my to read list). Chris Evans was amazing. Michelle Dockery was too. I thought it was a little longer than necessary but I was pulled in enough that I didn't mind the extra time.

And thank you...I was trying to think of this show last night - there was an aspect I was describing to my husband that wasn't plot related and I could not remember for the life of me which show it was on since I've watch about a million of them in the past year. ha!

Prime: Catastrophe (comedy) Goliath - Season 1 - I've heard season 2 is awful but the first season was very well done. Modern Love - each episode stands on its own Hulu: Four Weddings and a Funeral - series based on concept of movie UnReal Fargo I just canceled Netflix since I was caught up and had so much else to watch. Some things I liked - all comedies: Atypical Insatiable Grace and Frankie Based on your likes (all of which I like), I watched Atypical over the past couple weeks. Clearly, I liked it, but Jennifer Jason Leigh is unrecognizable with all the work she has had done and she sounds drunk all the time. I am not familiar enough with her to know if this is her real voice. She and the dad (Michael Rappaport) have zero chemistry. I really like this show, and feel like every person's story in the family is important, but I cringe every time she is on camera. Maybe we're supposed to not like her, but I don't think we should be cringing. I also started Grantchester. I am SO late to the game, but I love it! I started Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. I love Viola Davis and I love Chadwick Boseman, and they are stunning in this movie, but I am struggling through it.
