A movie based on a Steven King short story… Mr. Harrigan’s Phone . It did not disappoint. I enjoyed that as well

I came back to add the word bizarre! And now I kind of want to watch it again I can't imagine watching it with my DS! Especially the bizarre sex scenes!

I also watched Nyad which I found fascinating. Annette Bening and Jodie Foster were both fantastic. American Nightmare - docuseries based on a true story. Each episode is told from a different perspective and when it all comes together, it's both heartbreaking and infuriating. Fool Me Once - it was a little convoluted but enjoyable to watch with a good twist at the end. Queenpins - it's a satire based on a true story of coupon fraud. I'm in the middle of True Detective Season 4 (Max) and Criminal Record (Apple) - both are really good. I want to go back and watch earlier seasons of True Detective. American Nightmare was crazy. Your description of “heartbreaking and infuriating” is accurate. Watched it on your recommendation on one of these early mornings with the puppy. Thank you!

We enjoyed Obliterated, it's silly and the humour is a bit crude but we had a good time watching it. Don't watch if you're not a fan of nudity/sex/swearing/extreme violence.
Hate watched the second season of Reacher, it's just so dull and Alan Ritchson was definitely not cast for his acting ability.

I started watching the 1st episode and having trouble getting into it. I enjoyed the first season.

This weekend I watched a couple of movies: The Holdovers on Peacock. I thought it was a tiny bit slowish getting started but otherwise it was excellent. All three main characters were perfection. The Re-education of Molly Singer on Netflix. It was one of those coming of age awkward boy/experienced woman helping to bring him out his shell type movies. There were some charming parts. The protagonists are likable and the antagonists are comically unlikable. It was ok, I wouldn't watch it again but don't mind that I spent time on this. I'm also watching Love is Blind - Season 6 on Netflix. 6 of 12 episodes have dropped so far. It's deliciously ridiculous.

I just about cried when she said "how many times do I need to be assaulted before someone believes me?"

I need a recommendation for something lighter. Doesn't have to be comedy, but I subscribed to Brit Box as I got sucked into Archie, which was very good and Jason Issacs is fantastic in but then tried to watch a police procedural as I love a good mystery and it was just too dark for my current state of mind.
I watched The New Look and was so engrossed I had to look up the fate of Dior's sister who was abducted by the Nazi's during WWII. Excellent so far, but I love Ben Mendolson.
I actually enjoyed season 1 of Halo, but I've never played the game so to me it's just a well done sci fi show. I'm not as involved in season 2, as they brought in a new show runner as people who have played the game were not happy with season 1.
I'm now looking for something lighter, funny, romantic I'm open just no thrillers or murders for the moment.

I just cried myself through the entire “This is Us” series on Netflix. It was soooo good!
Second the rec for “Last Tango in Halifax.” Loved it.
Currently watching “Madam Secretary” and really enjoying it.
And a friend told me that there will be a third season of “”Bridgerton” - can’t wait.

I'm currently watching a show from the '90's on Amazon Prime - "Northern Exposure" Late DH used to watch it and always asked me to watch with him, but I was a working mom with 2 young kids and couldn't keep my eyes open past 10 so I just couldn't do it (I think he just didn't need as much sleep as me). Anyway, I saw it was streaming and decided to give it a try, I'm enjoying it! Wish I could have watched with him.

We just finished The Victim, a four-part Scottish thriller miniseries starring Kelly Macdonald, James Harkness, John Hannah and John Scougall. 2019 It was well done but TW: a child's death although it is only talked about, never shown.

We just finished watching Boy Swallows Universe tonight. It was a curious mix of brutality, comedy, violence, drama, fantasy, suspense, with a bit of nonsense thrown in. We really liked it!

I watched the movie Midsommar 2019. Thankfully I didn't watch it with DH. He would have hated it. It was without a doubt the most bizarre, creepiest, gorsiest and weirdest movie I have ever seen. I'll probably have nightmares. My apologies to Sweden. I watched the movie because it took place in Sweden. Watched this weekend. I hated it. I didn’t know anything about it ahead of time. I wish I had because I wouldn’t have watched.

I recommend Lover Stalker Killer on Netflix. It's a documentary and it's just wild. Also started watching Fire Country on CBS, only one episode in but enjoying it.

I watched Mea Culpa on Netflix over the weekend. It started out strong, got a little too moody in the middle to where it felt silly to me, but it had a strong ending. I would give it 3 stars. My office mate loved it.
Last week I watched One Day also on Netflix which was very good. There was good chemistry between the main characters. I didn't realize it was based on a book which I haven't read so I don't know how the show holds up.

We've been on a Brit Box on Prime kick: The Victim, Pembrokershire Murders and just watched the first 2 episodes of Chasing Shadows. We love these police shows from England, Wales, Scotland, etc.

I just watched The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar on Netflix. It's an Oscar-nominated short film (40 minutes long) by Wes Anderson based on a Roald Dahl story. It has an amazing cast: Benedict Cumberbatch, Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, and Richard Ayoade and I was completely charmed by it.
