We just finished the first season of Ridley on Prime. A retired detective returns to help catch a killer. British crime of course because they do it best! cadoodlebug, I've watched the first 2 episodes of Ridley and I keep falling asleep. And I wanted to like it. Not sure what is not grabbing me. I loved Adrian Dunbar in Line of Duty, and Blood. Maybe it's just he seems morose--the whole show seems morose. Yeah, it wasn't as good as Line of Duty but we enjoyed it none-the-less.

I started watching Eric on Netflix Friday and finished it yesterday evening - it's just 6 episodes. A 9 YO boy goes missing on the way to school in NYC and the search leads into the depths of homelessness and police and City Hall corruption. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the dad - a puppet maker and actor on a kid's TV show, who has substance problems. I didn't even realise it was him until I looked up the cast to identify another actor!

keep saying one day I'll watch some shows everyone but me watched, like The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, and Dexter, etc but I guess I like being really late to the party. That's me too. I am WAY behind on the times I still haven't seen Six Feet Under or Dexter (or many of the older shows like West Wing, Mad Men & Breaking Bad), but I finally watched the Sopranos within the past few weeks and I really enjoyed it! I am so glad I finally watched it. It was so good!

Not sure when it dropped, but we just found season 3 of Acapulco on AppleTV. It's a fun, campy show with great 80s throwbacks.

I’m totally late to the party but I just got Paramount+ and I’ve been watching The Good Fight. Season 1 was great and I’m starting season 2 now.

I've been binging Netflix shows/docs while I sew. Recently I have watched: Love on the Run. 2022 real life story of the Alabama prison guard (Vicky White) who helps inmate Casey White escape and they're on the run Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez StoryInto the Fire: The Lost Daughter. Cathy gives up her birth daughter and learns of her disappearance in 2010. A shocking suspect is revealed. Pretty wild. I have also watched all 4 episodes of Worst Ex Ever.I am clearly on a murder-doc-binge. I am just starting The Perfect Couple.I watched all of these too except Worst Ex Ever. LOL. I thought Love on the Run and Into the Fire were especially sad. Even though in Love on the Run, she made those choices. Monsters had incredible acting. There is another documentary coming out about the Menendez bros. next week, I think. I'll be watching that too. Lisa

I just finished Nobody Wants This on Netflix. Very cute rom-com about an interfaith relationship and all that entails.

We watched Killer Heat on Prime with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley. It takes place on Crete and we're headed there next year so we thought it would be a fun watch. Decent murder mystery.

Just highlighting a different type of series, if you are interested in volcanoes then check out this new BBC series, Expedition Volcano. It's fascinating with amazing scenes. The link has other small clips which hopefully can be viewed outside the UK. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09hlz7w

I just finished watching "Getting Gotti" on Netflix.
First of all, he was a horrible disgusting human.
Second of all, all I could think of is how if he was a free man and still alive today, he could run for president and easily win. This country has become one that worships gangsters, rich people, and shitheads. He'd be a shoo-in. I don't really remember all the hero worship and celebrity status he had back then because I was a teenager, but I certainly knew who he was and that he was the Teflon Don.
Anyway I like to watch shows about Mafia takedowns, it's pretty interesting to see how they put their cases together and gather intel, etc.
I can't imagine being on any of those juries. I'd be petrified for my family if he was found guilty. I DIDN'T SEE NOTHING YOUR HONOR It took a lot of bravery.

We finished After the Flood on Prime. It took place in Yorkshire, I think. We enjoyed it. Police procedural about a body found after a massive flood.

I got excited for a moment, but when I tried to add it to my Prime watch list, I discovered that it's not on Prime in Australia. We can only get it on Britbox, and I don't subscribe that that (yet).

Just highlighting a different type of series, if you are interested in volcanoes then check out this new BBC series, Expedition Volcano. It's fascinating with amazing scenes. The link has other small clips which hopefully can be viewed outside the UK. This reminded me of the documentary The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari on Netflix we watched a while ago. Really good and a story I knew nothing about. I just finished watching "Getting Gotti" on Netflix. I'll look for this. It also reminded me of Under the Bridge on Hulu, a dramatized account of the real 1997 murder of 14 year old Reena Virk in my hometown. One of the girls involved was a huge Gotti fan, which sounds weird and is. There is definitely parts of the series that are completely made up, but Reena's story and most of the investigation part is true to what happened. DD & I watched Love on the Run and also found it so sad, but our kind of story. I started watching Into the Fire while DH was finishing something, planning to watch Slow Horses on Apple when he was done. Ha, I ended up starting it over for him and we watched both episodes. It has haunted me a bit. I just can't stop thinking about it. I'll probaby watch Monsters. The Menedez brothers are like Ted Bundy and Scott Peterson for me. I need to watch all versions of their stories.

I tried to watch The Bricklayer on Netflix but stopped barely 15 minutes in because it was just too much violence before I’ve even had a chance to get invested in the characters.
I switched to Rebel Ridge was only ok. Still violent, but a tolerable amount for me. But the plot was not great and it got boring because it was the same fight over and over.
Another recent Netflix was Trouble. This was odd, funny but you’re not sure if it’s supposed to be, and quite entertaining. It felt like the best parts of the plots of 14 different movies in one. And it’s dubbed which I normally dislike but it added to the quirkiness.

I watch TV to escape reality so it’s getting harder and harder to enjoy.

I watched No One Wants This and liked it.
I also watched the movie Hitman. The premise was great, based on a true story. I had high hopes given it was directed by Richard Linklater. But it ultimately disappointed with the ending. I think they were going for dark humor, but it was out of character and gross to me.

Watching the new/current season of Love Is Blind! Me too! Same! ha! The 6 episode drop last week was a grind - as if I had to watch it all right away. I felt like it was too much time in the pods but the latest episodes were a little more interesting.

Anyone watch Bad Monkeys on Apple TV - hate that it only drops weekly but that is where my impatience shows! Just watched the last episode last night. Loved it! DH and I both are both Carl Hiaasen fans and had read the book when it came out, and we were not disappointed in the adaptation. Based on the ending, I'm hoping they do a Yancey season 2 with Razor Girl. Fingers crossed!

We just finished "Loudermilk" and loved it. I love dark comedy and quirky characters. Sad that it was only 3 seasons. We loved Loudermilk as well. It’s one of those shows that caught on more afterwards than it did while filming. I wish they’d go back and continue it, but I guess the actors have mostly moved on.
