I had no idea what direction I was going with this LO. It turned out OK, but not really what I had envisioned.

Was bored and wanted to do something bright and shiny so I did some gold and white Christmas cards today. Cut too many of the scalloped layers so Iāll have some more gold and white cards later this week.

Here is my page for today. For Sketchy Saturday, April 4th. This is my oldest dgk, and he bemoans the fact that he is "never" on my sb pages. He is 20 years old, oldest of 5 kids, lives away from home, and when I visit his dad's family, the photos do not often include him. When I DO have pic's of him, it is usually b/c he is included in a family selfie, but that doesn't happen that often. Told him that he needs to send me pic's if he wants to be in my scrapbooks. I think he will get a kick out of being the star of a calendar page. And that his photo will hang on everyone's wall for a whole month next year! April 21 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr POINTS: one page created & shared (2). #1 Sketchy Saturday (1), #3 Colouring eggs (4), #4 square (1), #11 patterns (4), #13 one photo (1), #23 hearts (2), #24 Tula & Norbert sticker (5), #27 old Sassafras Lass (15), #29 bunny ears (1), #0 & 31 (2), #33 April (6), #34 colours (1), #45 messy (1), #62 b;ing (1). Here are two pages I started yesterday and finished today. They will be facing pages in my Winter album, but I took pic's separately b/c they meet different stand alone challenges. The first one is for this last Sketchy Saturday. I decided to cut the photos into circles and and include them in the wreath around the page: We build LOVE 1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This second one is for the challenge I posted from PinkFresh for Challenge #57. I won't be sending this to PinkFresh, but am sharing it here. We build LOVE 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). #1 Sketchy Saturday (1), #13 seven photos on 2 pages (2), #18 no pp on page two (1), #23 hearts (2), #25 new "Little Builder" (2), #28 handwriting (2), #30 & 31 (3), #34 bright colours (2), #36 diecuts (12), #38 5x7 photo (1), #39 six smaller circles (3), #42 three fonts in title (1), #45 messy paints (1), #57 posted the challenge for second page (1) and took it on (5), #69 diecut circles (2). Comments on the creations shared on page THREE: gmcwife1, I can't believe how many cards you turn out! Love the hearts and the stars papers. And how you tucked the greeting into that star frame. Thankyou for sharing your insightful pages, teacherlisa. What a joy these must be to your family. Love the advice to your boys; the details in your photos and your stories. And the FOOD! I want to eat that bread! lynnek, your cards are beautiful! Love the flowers in the soft colours, and the bright chevron backgrounds are really FUN! Sounds like alot of work, but WORTH it! That birch trunk framing of the bird is really creative.

This requires a little explanation lol- first, this blue file cabinet was a recent find while I was re doing my scrap room and I love it. The 3 hangers are steel and I painted them with chalk paint, and hung with buffalo check ribbon. The photos are held on by magnets and the black tags are actually wood with the dates of the photos written in them. It really looks better in person and I love it!

I am so far behind that I'm starting here and working backward. I think I caught all in the gallery from page 4 and 5. teacherlisa, I love your use of the filing cabinet for your hanging photos. The black wooden tags and checked ribbons are so cute. Love the photo of your boys and the big heart. It looks like you did a whole lot right! It will be fun to see what you add to the AE album. Great start. ~ Your method of journaling with adding cut out words is so cool. Great photo of all of you having fun together. Thanks for sharing your life and feelings with us. I am amazed at all the cute elements you have in this little album; lots of stamps, tags, twine and chipboard. This is an amazing remembrance album. ~Great card for your co-workers. They need to know they are appreciated. KikiPea, fun Birthday layout. I love the doodled edges and the handwritten journaling. The corner banner is really cute.~ I love how you have surrounded your photo with so many great elements and clusters on Destination Birthday. I love to study the way you do your embellishments. You really need to teach a class!~ Hey Sugar 45 is a beautiful page. I love the printed clouds, the singing ostrich and all of your embellishments surrounding a cute photo. Totally fun look. ~ You find the cutest papers and embellishments. I love the Birthday check list and all the fun word stickers/die cuts. I love the Birthday paper on the left side of Birthday 2019. The whole page screams āFUNā.~ I love the background on Marty Bās. Did you make that with inks. It is so striking. Cute page.~LOL, I love your page of you and your brother. You are both so cute in your hats. I love the vintage viewmaster card as well as all the fun things surrounding the photo. You have such great die cuts and embellishments. gmcwife1, I love those gold cards. They are so rich and pretty. Your cards with the off-set rectangles are very pretty. Great sentiments for the star papers. The paper with the pinwheels makes such beautiful red, white and blue cards. I love the way you mat each layer with a darker color. They look so professional.

More cards for Bring Smiles to Seniors. Beautiful cards !!! How kind of you! Those cards will mean the WORLD to them !!! And wow, I LOVE that you're sending them to seniors!!! I used to volunteer in nursing homes and hope to again someday! In the meantime, I should do what you're doing !!! It breaks my heart that none of them can have visitors now I love seeing everyones' projects, but I apologize that I can't comment on EACH one right now. teacherlisa ...Wow, I love your layouts--esp. the one with the hearts and I assume those are your sons? The little embellie that says "thank you for believing in me" is so cute! Also love those cute cards hung with ribbon. grammadee ....Love your layouts, and such cute kiddies !!! I especially love the VERY colorful one with all the circles! KikiPea ....Awww....what a SWEET layout!!! I'm so sorry about Bomber! I've done a few layouts of the precious bulldogs that we've fostered in the past--such sweet memories, but it STILL hurts to think of them!!!

Leaving some love for the creations on Page FOUR that I didn't catch on Flickr: teacherlisa, your cards for the first responders are really striking. Love your take on the thin gold line! And your PAGES! So interesting to look at! Love the little insights into your life--the things you love. So cool that you have photographed them and are including them in your journals. I need to do this for my own [stalled] book about ME. And your rendering of the adventures you have been on seem to really catch the spirit of them (and they almost always make me hungry...) I think my favourite is the one with the stickers interspersed with the journaling: not just the way it LOOKS, but the things it SAYS! And KikiPea, I am in love with all your pages. I really need to print some of them off to help me untangle the whole clustering thing! Yours are so masterful! I am a big fan of different backgrounds on facing pages, and "You are my Sunshine" is a super example of how it works at its best! Love the happy photos and how you used the clustered mats to help them stand out from the strong backgrounds. LOVE that page about your brother and you! (Now I know where that littlest cowboy in your life gets his cowboy swagger LOL) The cowhide background is perfect. And I love the way you used the diecuts to build a supporting strip for the photo. (Including the viewmaster reel is perfect here, too!). Your birthday pages are really FUN! Love the happy colours and all the sentiments tucked in with your clusters. See? You didn't need a dedicated birthday line to scrap this!

Quick share of yesterday's progress. I was happy to put an audiobook on and just craft. I picked one Sheetload of cards sketch and then just played. More cards for Bring Smiles to Seniors. This seems to be my favorite sheetload sketch. I love that I can use a paper that isnāt my favorite as that one layer. Great cards! Thanks Yes, some of these papers I have just donāt work well for much but they bring out a color in the front card or provide some separation. I love this sketch for being able to use up these cut aparts. I have a LOT of them. And this way I donāt have to stamp a separate sentiment either.

I used to volunteer in nursing homes and hope to again someday! In the meantime, I should do what you're doing !!! It breaks my heart that none of them can have visitors now Thanks Iām trying to get a medium sized priority mail box filled since Bring Smiles to Seniors is getting more requests than ever and theyāre still able to distribute cards safely. Theyāre a great organization, very flexible (Iām much better at making cards than writing inside them, but theyāre ok receiving blank cards and having someone else add the message). Iām sure many seniors are feeling very isolated and worried right now so itās just a little thing us crafty folks can do for them. btw thereās a card donation thread pinned to the top of the card board here if you need more info.

grammadee - both those layouts are brilliant - use of the shapes with the tinkertoys, use of the shapes with the photos (so easy for the eye to swoop around in the circle with the photos - fabulous! KikiPea - love to see how you use the different colours/patterns/elements of a line when you get going! I especially like how you used the "scene" grass/sky paper, and your nephew is adorable. Very fun "never grow up" layouts joblackford - I'm really liking the large rectangular layers you've used the past number of cards. Beautiful! teacherlisa - love your little photo gallery! I love highlighting special photos like that, dressing them up for myself to see. This layout predominantly uses Basic Grey "Wander" - the gears and little cars/buses worked well for a little boy page I thought! In the title, I layered the two different colours of the same font that came on the sticker page, to give more contrast to "the mighty". Lots of elements are popped up, although that doesn't show in the photo. layout the mighty finn by kirstendrew, on Flickr

I went ahead and made another dozen cards out of the same supplies again today. Youāll get so sick of looking at these supplies by the time I use them all up!! Sorry. First up is this set which I kept very simple because I love this paper. April 23 cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr And then another set with the seed packet cut aparts with the cream flowers papers used for backgrounds. I didnāt like these backgrounds as much as the darker ones, but I think they worked out OK in the end. Theyāre pretty busy with all those flowers! I wish this paper pad had some more b-sides in it, and some tone-on-tone greens and yellows, but -shrug- thatās the problem with paper pads. gmcwife1-your star cards are so bright and cheerful. I love the way the sentiment tucks into the big star. Beautifully made! teacherlisa, I love the documentation of the āpicking up of foodā during this pandemic! ~ Wonderful tribute to your boys about what you teach them and what they teach you. The word Values is the perfect title.~ No need for photos on the Covid 19. Your journaling says it all. Iām glad you documented your feelings. ~Great job on your Easter food. What fun to look back on in 10 or so years. Your rolls look so tasty. ~ You are great at journaling your feelings, I love the tribute to your boys. You must have done a whole lot of things right with those young men. azcrafty, I love the sentiment on your pretty pastel cards. āI thought of you today and smiled.ā What a great sentiment to send at this time of strange events. lynnek, what a fun technique on your floral cards. I love the embossed flower. Your colors are so pretty on them. I love the font on āhelloā. Your chevron cards are so pretty and bright. They make me smile. Thatās a lot of work to stamp all those colors! Little by little I am getting through all the beautiful posts for April. I think I caught those in the gallery and am working my way through this thread. Lots of wonderful work!

KikiPea, your Valentines Forever layout is precious. I love the photo props and the frame. What a sweet couple. It's unusual in these days to be together for that long. We have been married 51 years but most of our friends have not. It's great when you find Mr. Right right away! Beautiful work on this layout.

I finished off some more cards today As soon as got them done I felt like I shouldāve been more patient and persistent and made a lot more, so I will probably come back to this design soon and try some different ink colors too. These sympathy cards are for my mother. I think I showed 2 before, made 3 more, and experimented with a slightly different sentiment combo which was easier to stamp (because of the thickness of the lines and ease in masking the bit I donāt want stamped) April 25 cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr And these version got general sentiments for donation to Bring Smiles for Seniors (9 cards) April 25 cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr ETA: they are Concord and 9th stamps - the swipes of ink are 2 extra stamps that are part of the set! You just line them up after you stamp the floral part. Itās very cool.
