This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

ABCreations, it's fun to see your avatar popping up. I'm glad you liked the little girl on my cards. They were really more fun to make than I thought they would be. Have you been doing any scrapping? janesays, I hope things go well for you in selecting and printing photos. That is the slow, not fun, part of the process for me. It will be fun to see your pocket pages. I have a few I am working on and always need ideas. kellyr21, I enjoyed sitting down and watching your washi tape layout video. Now I want to try that too. Thanks for sharing your talents. I can't believe it is almost July 1st and our temp never got above 56 degrees today. The weather is crazy like everything else this year. LOL

Thanks for setting this up for us again this month nylene. Wow - that's cold for June - I wish I could send you some of our heat - we're in the 90s with 'feel-like' temps above 100.

Happy July! I am sending you all a big smile from Cali today. Thanks nylene for our new thread! Well, today I am working on a new video. I will show how I make a "happy" mess on a layout. Also, thanks for all your support and cheers. I had 3 subscribers before I started these tutorials and now I have 51!!!! So exciting! Also, here is a page I did in my TN. It was fun using the new supplies I got recently on SALE! LOL! You can visit resource blog to see more pictures of my orders and how I used some of the items. Joann & Studio Calico HaulsJune TN Pages by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene - It's cold there! Stay warm and I am sure the heat is around the corner! LOL! We are have cooler temps here, too. I am glad you are enjoying my videos. I am making this new one with you in mind. I remember you mentioned how you weren't sure how to make a lo with paint. So, I'll show you how I do it.

Hi Pokeys! This year IS crazy!! Wow nylene that's cold! I'll trade you, we are in the 90's pretty much the whole month of June while my central air is off. I've heard a lot of walking on the roof today so I hope that means it will be back on before the heat wave we have coming this weekend! Work is still so crazy and probably will be all summer. But I think I'm finally getting it figured out so that I can work a lot and still scrap! Everyone is buying RV's to the point the dealerships are running out and the trailer manufacturers are 8 weeks out. There are no hitches anywhere to be found which is why we are working such long hours. They took the guys from my department to go build. I've been whiney about the extra hours, but they are working just as many hours in a hot shop. I don't have so much to be whining about lol. Rudy and his dad spent nearly all weekend here last week, 2 sleepovers lol. A couple of weeks ago when we had cake for my birthday, Rudy was back a day or two later and was looking at what was left of the cake. He said " Nana had 3 pieces of cake without asking!" OMG he cracks me up!! But he would be in trouble for eating sweets without asking LOL! kellyr21 I am looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos and checking out the challenge you set! Where to you get your TN inserts? I pretty well bought SG and sb.com out back in May. They don't seem to be as available as they were in the past. I hope everyone is well and having a great July 1st! I have no plans so far which after all the long hours sounds pretty darn good lol.

Happy Canada Day, Pokeys! It was pretty much a regular day here. DH went to work. It rained most of the day, but is nice and sunny now. I did my colouring for my 100 day project and washed a bunch of laundry. We’re going to my mom’s this weekend. No festivities due to Covid even though pretty much all businesses are opened back up.

Happy Canada Day to our Canadian Pokies justjac - sorry there weren't any festivities - I'm hoping the 4th will be like that here but I'm guessing not followed by another spike of cases a week or two later joyfulnana - Rudy is so cute! Love the cake story! kellyr21 - woohoo! glad your tutorials are going well...one of these days I'll have a chance to look. Love the TN page It was a scrappy day here working on June photos - I just have Fathers Day and a pandemic monthly page to do and then I need to wait for my photo order (expected on Friday) to finish up June. Of course, I have plenty of photos printed for Jan-May and 2019 and ...

Happy July, Pokeys! Yes it was a rainy Canada Day here. We stayed home because we were not aware of any festivities locally, but I guess the town had a small parade, with a very low turn out. Dh was missing the annual pancake breakfast, so we ended up having bacon and pancakes for supper. That was our whole Canada Day celebration! Have a safe trip, justjac. I know that with your dad's birthday and your parents' anniversary this weekend that your mom will be happy to have her family around her. Linda, you continue to amaze me with all your pages. I need to go take a closer look at some of the ones you did earlier in the week. I ordered a couple of things on line and continued organizing my scraproom, and managed to put together one card. I need to do a bunch more of them and should get busy on those before the garden dries up enough to get out there and do some more weeding. Glad you had time with family, joyfulnana. How dare you eat your cake without asking for permission! Okay, off to bed with this old lady...

I was inspired by your inked cloudy skies, nylene, when I created this card. My ds, whose birthday is next week, always had his birthday at the lake b/c we usually camped the first two weeks of July. He is heading home to BC for his birthday this year, and hopes to spend the week sitting at their trailer at the lake. I didn't have a chair die--and was too lazy to go looking for a Silhouette file--so I fussy cut a "chair" from woodgrain pp. beach birthday boy by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Happy Canada Daybelated to our Canadian Pokeys. Sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday. grammadee, your clouds look so much better than mine. I think I get heavy-handed. What color ink did you use? I love your card. I'm sorry your Canada Day fell flat, but the pancake dinner sounds nice. I'm afraid that's how ours will be too. Em is sick but Dr. doesn't want her tested yet. She doesn't think it's Covid but is staying isolated from us. So no get together for the 4th. joyfulnana, I giggled at Rudy's remark. I love the things that come from the mouths of children. Be sure to write it down! I'm sorry you are still so swamped at work. I understand that swing sets and trampolines are almost impossible to get right now too. The world has changed with Covid. Linda, I'm enjoying your layouts. You must be a fast scrapper. I hope your photos come soon. justjac, I hope you have a great weekend with your mom. I'm sure she will be happy to have you there. I have loved the last cards you posted. Your coloring is awesome! kellyr21, keep up the good work. I am enjoying your videos and your pretty projects! DH is home from work again as another GC employee has Covid. They have a lot of building they want him to do and he can do that at home and just consult on the phone. He is waiting (not too patiently) for the wood to arrive. I delivered cards to all my Card Club pals yesterday and got to visit 6 ft apart with masks with 4 of them. That was a nice break in the monotony. Have a great weekend, everyone.

That's funny, nylene , b/c I thought YOUR clouds were better! I used Faded Jeans for the sky, and Broken China for the water. But I used the same blending foam, so some of the denim colour mixed with the lighter ink. So glad that you got to get out and visit your friends at a safe distance. Sending strong wishes that Em will recover quickly and that it is NOT Covid.

Happy July Pokeys! I'm floundering a bit, trying to keep my head above water with all the small stuff going on here. Everything is good, but I need some down time. I get vacation in 2 weeks, and I think we might just lay low. I was truly pokey last month - 4 layouts, 4 cards. I would HOPE to do better this month but honestly I know summer isn't my strong suit for scrapping. I hope we continue the google hang-outs! I missed the last 2 of them because we were hanging out with our "bubble" family, but hope to join in this week! justjac and grammadee, we had a hot dry Canada Day - almost 40 degrees with the humidex. ( nylene, brrrr!) All the Canada Day events were cancelled here, but there were some fairly fancy fireworks being set off in the neighbourhood - we could see 4 sets from our yard! I felt very melancholy at the end of the day honestly. First, I had worked all day. Then I didn't take a single photo, and I have family fun photos going back through all our years. joyfulnana - glad you've had hang-out time with your boys. Rudy was wonderful chattering at us on google hangouts that one night, and I bet he's a hoot to have around! I guess it's good that your business is doing well? I can imagine trailers/hitches are a hot commodity. We wanted to get a camp site in July, but so many places are full up. Likely of people who had to cancel their travel plans! kellyr21 - it's so great that you are motivated by sharing your passion! When I've had to make a video, or a blog post, I find that it's more work than I'm comfortable with considering that this is supposed to be my relaxation! So I'll leave it to you grammadee - amazing card, really really lovely the way the elements go with the soft background. Linda - yes, just stay home! I hope people are starting to get the idea, what with the rapid increase in cases that's happening...

Not sure what we will be doing Sunday, but if I am not out in the garden warring with weeds I will try to drop in. Last time we were on a Hangout together, you were talking about your dd's birthday. I seem to remember seeing something about how it all worked out, but can't seem to remember the details. LisaDV, how did your dd's birthday go?

Sorry I've been MIA. I still haven't caught up on the last thread. We knew that DH's company was getting ready to lay off due to lack of sales during COVID. So for the last month I've been worried and the last couple of weeks have been worse. Having DD's birthday to concentrate on helped. We had a good weekend. Our worry was well founded as we knew his boss didn't like him. DH thinks she hates male employees. There is a lot of evidence to support his claim as well. Monday the 29th, he did receive the call to let him go. It's been a very emotional week. We're just trying to get through the holiday and then we'll regroup. Honestly we just really don't want to move again.
Don went in the other day to drop off his phone and computer. The head of security came out to talk with him. They had worked on a couple of projects together. Security guy had taken the voluntary package which was before the lay offs. He said he was continuing to work through the end of the year due to more changes. He expects another round of lay offs in July and one more before the end of the year.
Prayers and positive thoughts appreciated. But it may be a bit before I'm back.

He has worked so hard and you all have made so many sacrifices to accommodate his work location and schedule. These are such uncertain times, it is scary to be looking for work right now. (Because of scarcity of jobs and the fear of making whole new groups of contacts) What type of work does he do? Will he get a package that will carry you through these next few months?

Oh LisaDV! I'm so sorry! I'll be sending you alllll the positive thoughts and prayers! I hope things work out soon and that he finds something even better. Big big hugs! kitbop I totally relate to feeling like you need some downtime. I hope you get a huge recharge while you on vacation! It IS good that the RV business is thriving, and I'm sure it's due to no one traveling by air on on a cruise. I'm thankful that things are good. It's all a bit overwhelming at times. I think it's so odd that the owners of the company couldn't see that this would happen, and weren't prepared for a surge. Have a great weekend justjac! I haven't been brave enough to go see my mom in person yet. I'm not so worried that I will bring the virus to her, but she has been out and about so much that I'm afraid she will give it to me! nylene I'm so glad you got to see some of your card club friends. And that you were socially distant! I hope Steve can continue working from home and stay safe! You two have a lot to deal with in the last year, you don't need Covid added to the mix! grammadee I'm sorry your Canada Day didn't turn out as planned. I love pancakes for dinner though! I'll also take your rain. It's been so hot here. And my central air is still not back on. It's one setback after another from what I gather. I'm off today for the holiday so there will be catching up on chores, and a trip for groceries. And more fans! If there are any to be had. Just in case! Hopefully a quiet evening to get some scrapping done. I was pokier than you kitbop! Only one 2 pager for June. Linda I hope you have a good weekend!

grammadee - lovely card and good job being creative for the chair. Sorry your Canada Day was rainy and quiet. nylene - prayers for Em to feel better. Sorry your 4th will be quiet also. kitbop - ((((Hugs)))) I hope you get that needed downtime LisaDV - (((((Hugs))))) and prayers. I'm so very sorry about your DH's job. Hopefully something perfect comes along quickly. joyfulnana - hopefully you can find some fans. Enjoy the weekend Errands today - those always make me nervous because people here just aren't taking things seriously. Two banks, the computer place, plus groceries. Then we'll have a family movie night watching Hamilton - I have popcorn, soda, and movie theatre candy boxes on my shopping list. I've been playing with software and think I've decided on Acdsee - I need to play a little more to be sure. I didn't care for Photoshop Elements.

LisaDV, I am so sorry about your husband's employment. Your family is in my prayers for the right job to come up. You have made so many changes to move to his job. I hope there is something perfect close enough that no move will be necessary. Big Hugs! msliz, thanks for the Hangouts on Sunday afternoon. I may not be able to get on right as it starts, but should be able to check in later. Thanks, grammadee, for the heads up. joyfulnana, I hope to see you one of these times on Hangouts. I wish I had been on to see Rudy! I hope you get some down time this weekend. I understand trailer hitches are non-existent around here right now. kitbop, I hope you get some down time this weekend too. I think you are working in a very stressful profession right now. Hang in there.Vacation in 2 weeks must sound wonderful! I hope all of our Pokeys have a nice weekend. USA Pokeys, enjoy the 4th.

Hello! Happy 4th of July weekend! Hugs to all of you and your families. Lovely card with the clouds! I’ve always wanted to try that technique but I never have. Clever with the chair! I decided to try my hand at this TN-sized album I got from Citrus Twist last month. There is a photo of me but I covered it up with a 3x4 card because I’m feeling a bit shy about posting a photo of myself here. I think I’m going to use this little album to journal a bit. I think I have my washi tape picked out for the washi tape circle layout and I’m procrastinating about my PL album catch up. I know it will be so worth it if I’ll just sit and start that photo printing process but I’m just not in the mood. I want to play! Look at those little emoji smileys! They make me so happy!

janesays, your pages are beautiful. I'm sure kellyr21 will be excited to see what you have done. Is that floral piece made of wood? I love it. I know what a pain the photo printing process is. Take it one day at a time. There is no rush to scrapbooking. BTW, lots of people don't post photos of themselves here. Just do what makes you comfortable.

Lovely page janesays! I love the stamping, and the chevron pp cut in two. LisaDV - you must be SO disappointed. Like stomping your feet and shouting "it's not fair!" I'm really very sorry for the hardships you now have to face - the discussions, the job searching, etc. etc., all the extra burdens that something like this causes. You and he most certainly don't deserve it!

janesays - that is a beautiful TN spread - love the colours and the design. No worries about not posting photos of you (or other people) - I typically edit out faces when I post and I'm not alone - some blur, some cover, some edit.. I feel like I spent the whole day running errands. We spent over an hour at the computer shop -DD20 decided she wanted a desktop since she's staying here for college next year (she paid) and possibly the year after. DD13's laptop had a fatal accident earlier this summer with a glass of water and it needed replacing before school starts - she had to pay half. And I needed to get an adapter to hook up my second monitor as well as drop off cassettes for digitising (when we lived overseas as children, we set cassette letters to my grandparents in America). Then home to set up the computer and laptop and try and fail to hook up my monitor - it wasn't the right adapter, sigh. Back out to deposit a cheque at the credit union (easy) and set up a new account plus deposit a cheque at the bank - not so easy they were shortstaffed and after waiting 40 minutes, the teller finally asked if she could have the paperwork ready for me to come back and sign on Monday? So I deposited into my existing account and will go back Monday. Then we still needed to buy a different adapter for the monitor and get groceries. I was exhausted. Watched Hamilton on Disney + tonight though and that was fabulous!

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a fun 4th of July! No big plans here just rest and maybe a movie day. Happy Canada Day to our northern Peas. I hope you had a good time celebrating. LisaDV - OH NO! I hadn't seen you here and was thinking about you the other day. I am praying for you and your family! I hope something good comes along for your dh. Hang in there, friend!!!! janesays - What a great job you did on your TN!!!! I love the quote and I say amen to that too. The rainbow pp is so soft and pretty. Yes, it is totally ok to not show a picture. I am just glad you are playing and having fun. I know you will enjoy your washi tape design, too. I want to try it again. joyfulnana- I got my TN inserts from Joann.com. They are Heidi Swapp in sets of two. I also got one from Studio Calico. Scrapbook.com had some mixed media ones from Prima I got, too. kitbop- Thanks! I would love to see a video from you. You like all these Peas are so talented! grammadee- Oh, your clouds on that card are so good. I will have to see it in the gallery so I can leave some praise. So good! hi kellyr21grammadee - I have ZERO plans for the weekend beyond cooking hamburgers and hotdogs tomorrow (DD20 is cooking on Sunday)...I'll hopefully scrap and play with my new photo software (I bought Acdsee Ultimate). Might try to convince the girls to do a patriotic singalong after dinner on the 4th - we did one for Memorial Day and it was fun.

janesays your TN spread is Beautiful!! I love those emojies! Linda your day sounds exhausting and also sounds like what I do. Cram all the errands into one day so I can relax and stay home the rest of the weekend. I did find fans too! I've never attempted photoshop, I hear it can have a steep learning curve. nylene I hope to see you at a hangout soon too! kitbop I had forgotten Rudy popped into a hangout once lol. How often do you get see your DGKs now nylene ? I hope it's often enough to make up for the months of lockdown. I have been struggling to keep my sewing machine threaded (tension was too tight) I finally got that figured out yesterday and am finally ready to try some practice run masks. I had thought I may have missed the window on that, but now my city has a mask mandate and I have a feel masks are going to be (should be) a way of life at least until Spring next year. I have to say it's a relief to go into public places and see everyone with one. Last night was a last minute sleep over here with the usual pizza, movie, popcorn lol. I think Rudy thrives on the routine and boringness here The rest of my weekend is going to be Hamilton and crafting as much as possible. LisaDV I'm thinking of you. What a huge stress and worry. Since a certain little someone is still asleep I'm going to go check out more of your videos kellyr21. I didn't know Joann sold inserts! Thanks! Happy 4th US peas!

kellyr21 -butterflies sounds lovely - I'm bookmarking and will eventually get around to watching. joyfulnana - I don't drive so even pre-pandemic, we usually did all of errands in one day, either Friday night or Saturday depending on the week's schedule. Good luck with the masks - I wish our governor would mandate them but there are way too many 'my rights' folks here.
