and....deep breath...we made an offer today...now to wait (patiently, lol) to hear back on whether they accept it. I know we're not the only offer on the table so hopefully we're the better offer.

Linda, best wishes on the offer you have made. That's a big decision and I hope it goes well. kitbop, the metal in DH's eye was a workshop injury. He was wearing his safety goggles but it popped up underneath. Who knew you could have a piece of metal rust in your eye! Today is Pioneer Day in Utah. Another day of Fireworks, Barbecues, etc. But of course with Covid it's just another day. No big parades, rodeos etc. So maybe I will get time this afternoon to get caught up. LOL. Have a great day, Pokeys.

Thanks nylene our fingers are certainly crossed. Yikes about your DH's eye - scary that it happened even with the safety googles. Sorry about Pioneer Day celebrations - hoepfully you'll get to scrap at least

Hi Pokeys!! I’ve been thinking about you all but have no real Internet time this week. Camping season has to end sometime. Although with most schools looking like they will be virtual and so many parents working remotely, there may be no need to stop camping 😬😬😬 lol LisaDV I hope your DH finds the perfect job that doesn’t require a move. Hopefully I’ll see some of you this week on hangouts!

I have finished all the Genius Kits and mailed the ones going to CA. I told you I would post a list of what they contain. I bought cute little black and yellow tool chests at the $l store and everything except the wood and dowels fit inside. 1 piece of cloth, 1 dowel 12 inch, 2 balloons 4 tongue depressors, 6 tacks, 6 rubber bands 2 corks, 8 nails, 6 safety pins 1 board 12 inch, 2 spools, 6 Paper clips 1 tube of glue, 4 clothespins, 8 in. Mailing tube 6 pipe cleaners, 4 feet of string, 1 tool chest 2 wheels, 12 inch Wire They can use as many of these items as they want and can add only: tape, paint, fasteners, wire clothes hanger and cardboard box of any size. They can use any tools they want. They have until Aug 9 to complete their creation. Genius Kits

LOL Oh just tell them that when THEY are grandparents, they can cause havoc in their own kids' lives! I love the idea of a shared genius kit. I will bet they come up with some GENIUS inventions! Can't wait to see them! And the ZOOM-or other platform--call when they all share their creations should be a BLAST! What a wonderful way to keep the Cousin Camp going, even with social distancing!

LOL nylene, I agree that YOU are the genius! Me - I have no imagination. Ask me to draw a picture - you'll get a flower. Give me instructions like yours and all I can think is "car". joyfulnana - do you have a trailer or RV? Oh, how I WISH we did. We love camping, but the chore of packing/setting up camp/taking down camp when you need 3 structures (2 tents + kitchen tent) means we only camp twice a year at most. Mainly because we won't go for less than 4 days as it's just not worth it! I think if we could set up an RV/trailer for the season, and not have to unpack fully every time, we'd probably go a lot more. Plus let's talk toilets: I won't go to some local conservation areas because the outhouses are unbearable. If I had an RV (singing...if I had a million dollars...I'd go camping!) Today and tomorrow, DH and I have a full day together planned. I'm hoping to come hang-out after 8pm tonight. Haven't done any scrapping since last Saturday. At least I'm consistent?

Good Saturday morning, Pokeys! It is dark and gloomy here this morning: just finished raining. Dh is not happy, b/c our hay has been cut and now it needs to dry before being wrapped up in bails. He was planning to cut hay for his nephew today, but not sure if that will happen. So not only will I NOT have the house to myself all day as I had pictured, I will be sharing it with a grumpy old man I plan to tidy up my scraproom today. Counters are piled high with baseball scrapping stuff, and birthday and anniversary card supplies. And scraps. And tools. I want to get a bit more organized so I can start scrapping the pic's of the mountain hike that ddil sent me with the new papers I picked up on Wednesday. Hope to be playing with those this evening during the Hangout. (Oh, and I will have to clear off at least enough space on my scrap counter for my iPad and make sure it is charged this time) Will try to join about 6:00 our time if we can have an early supper here. Hope to see some of you there. It has been great to see you crafting again, kellyr21, and sharing your joy in it with others. I have some new art crayons I want to play with. Took a class where we learned how a few months ago, but not sure I remember it very well. Oh well--I have art crayons, some VB mixed media paper, a couple of little spritz bottles, and some water brushes. What could go wrong??? How did your get together with family go, knutschen? Have you been able to get some relief from the heat? It has been a really cool damp summer here. I don't enjoy high temps very much myself (no A/C in the house), but our crops and gardens really NEED more heat. I can add water, but temperature is completely up to nature. Hope you get some well deserved time off this weekend, joyfulnana. I have to say that I really understand the popularity of RVing this year! Gives an opportunity to have family time, yet socially distance from others, get some exercise and fresh air. Families have gotten away from this as opportunities to travel to more exciting places have multiplied, but given the choice of an annual getaway, I would "go RVing"! But it is too bad that it causes people like you more stress. We had a 23 foot basic holiday trailer for over 25 years. It had enough bunks for all of us, a small kitchen area, a canopy for over a picnic table, and a bathroom. It had lights that ran on either battery or electricity. We parked it every year for two weeks at a local lake. There were no "hookups" there, so the kids and I hauled water every day to refill the tanks, and I ran a generator in the evenings to take advantage of the electric lights and recharge the batteries. I had a propane stove with 4 burners and an oven and a bathroom. Yes, kitbop, it was heavenly to pack all my food & dishes & utensils in before we left and not have to repack all the time, to be able to cook on a stove and serve just outside the door, and to avoid those disgusting outhouses... One of our sons has their RV parked on an annual lot near their home, and they are spending alot of time out at the lake these days. My oldest dgd even has a job out there at the golf course. Waving hello to all the Pokeys. LisaDV, I hope things are looking up for your family. patin I hope you and your family are okay, too. Have been thinking of you both, lately.

Happy Saturday! It is so pleasant here today and I hope we can take a little drive this afternoon. I finished my new YT video and I love how this project turned out. I wanted to make some painted flowers but didn't have an idea of how to use them. But after I saw a lo that Paige Taylor Evans did, I was inspired! I had enough flowers to make a lo and a card. I was so excited to see Paige left a comment on my video and on IG! She is so kind and I am enjoying getting to know her on IG. So cool!!! Video Link HerePainted Flower LO by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- Oh, I love your kits and I know the grands and their parents will be so excited to work on them. Great job! I wish I was one of the grandkids!!! LOL!!!! grammadee- Thanks! I am happy to see me so creative, too. I noticed that since my surgery, I have gotten more and more energy. I thank God for that because my life before the was so limited. Whew! I am enjoying papercrafts again and plan to get back into painting, too. I think you will have fun with your new supplies. Keep us posted. Waving hi to you all and have a restful Saturday!

Hahahahaha kitbop oddly enough I hate camping lol. Well, I like going to lakes, and being in nature but I want to rent a cabin with all the amenities lol. Even in an RV camping feels like so much work lol. Besides being so busy in my job during the summer, it makes it hard for me to take any real time off over the summer because we are chronically short handed. But I usually take a good week in September while the weather is still nice. I am tired but did get a 2 pager done during our Sunday hangout. And got my sketches chosen for my August Saturday and also for Sketchtember. If I don't start those now I will be in a world of hurt! lol. kellyr21 I LOVE that layout! You are so talented! I hope you all are having a relaxing day!

Hello all.
We withdrew our offer on the house after seeing the inspection report - it needs more work (and money) than we were willing to do for the price.
I've been scrapbooking today - hoping to get January 2020 finished before the end of the month

Sorry Linda, that's a downer. The real estate market is so hot here that people are buying without inspections because you'll lose the house if you wait! grammadee - I will look for a picture of me but that's a challenge!!!

The real estate market is so hot here that people are buying without inspections because you'll lose the house if you wait! Yikes - I would never want to do that. Here there's a standard 15 day inspection period on offers and a buyer can withdraw their offer anytime during it based on the inspection. Which is good - because this house needed a new roof, 2 new a/c units, 2 new water heaters, the dishwasher replaced, and quite a bit of plumbing and electrical work among other things - oh and the inspector believed the addition and/or re-do of teh garage into a room was "illegal and done without a permit'. And it was advertised as well-maintained!

Sorry Linda , that's a downer. The real estate market is so hot here that people are buying without inspections because you'll lose the house if you wait! Wouldn't you know that would be THIS year LOL. It was like that in Meaford when dd's hubby was posted there 3 years ago. They managed to buy a home (NO rentals available) then, but when they needed to sell it LAST year, the market had waned, so they had to take less than they wanted so as not to be tied to a house in Ontario while they were back in Alberta. (They had rented out their home near Edmonton for the two years they were gone)
How is everyone this Monday morning? I am earning my stripes as a Pokey Pea. I have a couple of pages on my counter that have been there since Saturday evening. I MIGHT be closer to a finished LO after what I did this morning, but didn't glue anything down in case I change my mind AGAIN...
Right now I need to get out into the garden I think. Finally we have some heat, so thinking my pokey garden will have sped up production a bit, and I want to get out and at least look before I decide what needs doing first.
And I will need to do some house cleaning this week. Need to get some bedrooms ready for ds and his dd's who plan to be here on the 2nd. He is driving on to work in Saskatchewan early the next day, and the girls (aged 14 and almost 10) will be staying here for a week. They are isolating in BC right now.
I need to come up with something for a week from today: first Sunday in August is SISTERS' DAY. The older two girls often celebrated it here on the Monday, so hoping the younger two will enjoy a fun day together. Although most of actual sisters' day, they will be traveling together in their dad's truck, so they may just want to head for opposite corners of the house or yard on the Monday .
Okay. Coffee is done. Time to get moving!

Linda, I'm sorry that the house didn't measure up to the advertising. I hope that another will come along that will take less work to make it suitable. Houses here are selling so fast, but offers have to be way over the asking price. Nearly every day I find a note on my door saying "I would like to buy your house. Please contact me." It's good for my DS the contractor because people are anxious to build. It's hard for our young married grandkids who would love to have a home but everything is priced out of their range. grammadee, I think you need a sign on your home that says, "Grammadee's Hotel"! How fun that you can have visitors. I'm sure they feel so comfortable at your home. I hope you all have a great Sisters' Day together. Our DD is stopping by to pick up Genius Kits so I will be able to visit with her 6 ft apart. joyfulnana, I wish I could have seen you on Hangouts. What time zone are you and when do you usually start? Our church lasts til noon and then we usually eat. One of these times I am going to try to hop on if only for a few minutes. kellyr21, I have pulled out my paints and want to paint some flowers. I need those exact colors that you used. We will see how it goes. Your flowers are so pretty. I think I have a die that is similar to those. Off to find a photo to post.

You are making great steps toward paint. I know you will have fun once you try. I am cheering for ya! linda- Oh that is good you didn't get that house with all the work it needed. I hope you find what you are looking in time. grammadee- I was wondering how the garden was doing. But if the warm weather is there, I think your plants will like that.

joyfulnana, I may be able to hop on just the last hour on Sunday. I will aim toward that. I look forward to seeing you in person. kellyr21, I painted flowers today! Alex helped me and painted a couple the right colors for me. I have the papers, photos, and flowers all laid out to scrap, but may not get to it until the weekend. They turned out cute. I forgot to color some circles for centers, so I need to pull out some yellow paint and do that. Thanks for the tutorial. I'll tag you when I get the page finished. grammadee, I don't know how you get so much done in scrapping as well as gardening, cooking and entertaining sweet family members. You are the energizer bunny. I love those new pages! LisaDV, I've been thinking about you a lot today. How are things going? You and your family are in my prayers. Sending virtual hugs.

I phoned my DD in Calif. to let her know the Genius Kits would arrive today. She handed the phone to her DS who helped plan Cousin Camp last year. He was telling me how sad he was and how much he missed Cousin Camp. He had ideas for a Winter Cousin Camp if the virus was better and they could come in Jan or Feb. He had a list of snow games and activities and even had plans for a light blue shirt (like ice) with white letters (like snow.) He wanted to know if he could help plan it again. I asked how he'd like to have a virtual Cousin Camp in a couple of weeks. His sad voice changed and he got excited. I told him that 2 big boxes would be arriving today and there were instructions for each of them. About an hour later I got a text from his mom saying the boxes had arrived and the kids were already brain-storming. Em came yesterday to pick up their kits and Tori dropped by with her 2 (masked up) and took theirs. I hope this is fun for them and that the parents will still speak to me when it's all over! It's not as fun as our normal Cousin Camp, but at least we will get together virtually. I can't believe we are just 2 days from August. Where has the summer gone, and yet I feel like some days are so long. LisaDV and knutschen , I hope things are looking up in the employment markets. Sending hugs. patin , thinking of you! I will start a new August thread on Friday night. Thanks for all the chatting and posting you have all done this month!

Happy Wednesday! it is a nice day here and I am busy preparing my next video. I am really having a time finding some of my scrap supplies. My scoring board and a few other items are missing. I have such a small craft space that they can't be too far away but for now it is a mystery. Is this what happens when you get over 50? LOL! So last night, I ordered another scoring board and I hope I dont' have to replace my other things, too. Man! nylene- I am so happy you painted some flowers with some help. I have wanted to make more of those flowers and I think I just might. This quarantine has been tough especially on the kids. Your virtual idea is GREAT medicine for them and their parents. I am so glad it lifted your dgs spirits. I can't wait to hear how it turns out. grammadee- Your layouts look great! Go girl! Waving hi to all you sweet peas and have a good day!!!
