We haven't been having issues at home, but we are in southern Oregon this week and went to the grocery story last night. There was a huge, fully-stocked display of hand sanitizer and masks but toilet paper was totally cleaned out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We’re away on vacation and I stopped in a grocery store, a Walmart and TJ Max and was surprised how empty the shelves were. The grocery in particular, which had lots of empty and nearly empty shelves. Lots of shelves where they had just one of each item rather than multiples. Very odd.

We mostly shop at Nob Hill and some items have never come back in stock. Dh's Coke Zero is never there. I have been looking for whole peppercorns for a month.
I will look for a few items tomorrow. We can always use more TP and we only have one box of tissues left. I found scrubbing bubbles and bleach last time no problem. We never use paper towels or napkins.

Stuff has been hit or miss here since this all began. I have quietly plugged along and stalked online for supplies and also look on the rare times I go in the store. I think it is going to hit the fan here in the late summer in to fall. Then add in the election, bad weather, and a family member having surgery. I decided to stock up on all non food things to last through the end of the year easily so we can avoid the hassle and keep her safe during her long recovery. I kind of broke my shopping in to categories and I’m buying for 2 households. Other than food, both households have about everything we need to carry us through with a cushion and even have our preferred brands. Includes cleaning, cooking stuff like ziplocks and foil, paper products, household items, hygiene items, meds, laundry. I’d like more acetaminophen and Clorox wipes and Lysol spray but can make do if we have to. It is a relief to have it done now. I work nights so that helps with my shopping, things pop up at odd times. The only thing I’ve overstocked is hand sanitizer. Germ-x has gotten way too much of my money on amazon at 5am. This week I have sent 6 packs to 5 different family members and friends. I’ve donated several bottles as well. I am done buying sanitizer. Where do you find is at 5am? If like to overstock my classroom

I wonder what is up with Coke products. I like Cherry Coke Zero, and can't find it anywhere except in the BIG bottles. It would take me a week to drink that up! which means it wouldn't be good after the first couple of days!! So, I'm doing without. That won't kill me of course, since I'm not addicted, I just like it.

I have a Covid closet in one of our guest rooms. I just buy an extra of something when I see it. My husband keeps trying to use the stuff in there. Men. I tell him we'll break out the TP when there is a vaccine. We were going to the beach for 2 weeks (coming and going but at least 3 of us would be there each day). I thought we would take 2 big containers of 75 wipes. My husband thought we needed to take our 5 pack! Then he wanted to bring 24 rolls of tp and 12 rolls of paper towels (all Costco, so big rolls). I think that's too much, so I can't wait to see what he comes home with! My youngest and I could only stay a week.

I've seen most everything you're all mentioning in Boise, Idaho. I got a 5-pack of Clorox wipes, TP, and paper towels at Costco last week. It seems I end up being at the right place at the right time because others go after I tell them Costco is stocked and they're already out. My son and DIL and my parents and inlaws have all been looking for Clorox wipes. I always see them (one brand or another) so I buy my limit so I can pass them on. I don't use hand sanitizer but I see it everywhere - weird brands I've never heard of, but it's there. I buy a pack of TP about every other week just to keep our supply up. I had a good stock of TP before panic hit (I always have a big Costco pack upstairs and downstairs), but I gave a lot of our stock away to people who couldn't find it. Last SIP I was shopping for both of our parents and when there's a limit of one on these products, who gets it?? I usually gave what I found to our parents. I'll be prepared this time so I'm not worried about how much I give away. I should probably start getting a box of pasta & sauce here and there. I don't want too much meat because no matter how much I wrap it, it still freezer burns after a month or so. I was shopping for both sets of parents (they live 3-5 hrs. away). But my inlaws say they have been stocked in their area. So when we went to the beach last week, we stopped off at my parents and dropped off Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer and hand wipes for my parents, my brother and his family and the young neighbor family that have shopped for my parents. We are so close to Costco, Target and Walmart so I have been running by the stores as soon as they open to see what they have. That's how I was able to collect enough over the past 5 months.

Clorox wipes seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth. Have not been able to find them since Feb our Costco and Bj's have them on a regular basis. Yeast seems to be back around here too.

I've been unable to find Clorox Wipes anywhere that I've been except for the one container I bought in early March. I was at the Pharmacy today and wanted to pick up some SoftSoap refills and they had NO soap of any variety like that except for one huge bottle that I happily picked up.
We've been slowly building up our reserves again, even though we're doing well here in MA. I want to make sure that we're well stocked if we plan to avoid the stores as we did early on. Not hoarding--just buying things we'll use. We do have two large packs of toilet paper, however.

Mind blown that there even is such a thing. It’s used for pools, far cheaper than same thing sold at pool stores. Yep, I was going to say the same thing. I used to buy those huge bags every summer when I lived in a house with a pool.

I was at Smart & Final yesterday (they supply restaurants too but mostly it's just for consumers to shop) and all over the store were piles upon piles of industrial sized bags of everything from 50 pound sacks of flour all labeled for 'hotel and restaurant' to the biggest can of Kikkoman soy sauce I've ever seen.
It gave me pause, what a graphic reminder that the hotels and restaurants aren't using them up anymore. Made me sad. I sure hope this doesn't all go to waste.

I scored some lysol wipes from Costco. I overheard an employee tell an older couple that it would be in the next morning, but they needed to be there early. They also had lysol spray. My grocery store only had small bags of sugar and not many.

After a lot of things being consistently out of stock here, it has gotten much better. Now it's just a couple random things that I notice being sold out.
TP and cleaning supplies can still be hit/miss and finally able to get the 12-pack of mega-sized rolls again. Cheese seems to be fine, then all of a sudden it's wiped off the shelves. I wanted a green pepper over the weekend, none to be had. DH had to stop for some things yesterday after work and still no green peppers. Tomatoes are also hit/miss.
I only make it to Sam's about once every 6-8 weeks. Two weeks ago was the first time I was able to get the Persil laundry detergent, Cascade tabs that we like for the dishwasher, and Airborne Gummies. I didn't check for wipes as we only use them when we have to and still have two of the Sam's 4-pack from mid-March in reserve. Sam's had a very low stock of Puff's, but no Kleenex tissues.
Because we still can't count on being able to pick up items as needed, we continue being mindful of what we have and keeping an eye out before we run out.

I still have yet to find active dry yeast. Have not seen it in any stores since pre-virus days. Have you asked if they put it somewhere else? I found it at our store quite by accident. Not in the baking aisle or even in the refrigerator (where they sometimes have cake yeast) but in a specialty seasonal display next to the ice cream cones, marshmallows and Hershey bars. Weird. They knew full well people were looking for t as there was a sign limiting purchase to one item. One 3-envelope package or one one pound jar. Hmmm. How to decide? Lol! Our local Russian store is fully stocked with huge quantities of cake yeast in the dairy aisle. You have to buy it by the pound rather than the more typical one inch cubes, but you can get it.

I’ve been adding shopping for the food pantry every time I go to the grocery store lately. They typically have rather explicit instructions on what the want, usually certain size cans, one pound bags of rice, etc. Recently when I dropped off I saw someone had left 50 pound bags of flour, sugar, beans. Great donation, but how will they be able to distribute? Plus, this drop off Area is outside and the people who usually work there are elderly. I wonder how they managed those huge bags?

I've been able to find small (8 ounce or less) bottles of hand sanitizer pretty easily, but most of them are off-brand. I can usually find 8 ounces of Germ-X at Aldi at a reasonable price, so I am not in desperate need. However, my university plans to open face-to-face in a little over a month, and I know it will be nearly impossible to buy then, so I keep getting it when I see it.
I sent DD to Kroger today, and she called me all excited because she found big bottles of Germ-X: $5.19 for a 32-ounce bottle! There was a limit of three, so she bought two for our family and one for my co-worker who has diabetes. He is starting to stock up for the beginning of the school year, and he was very glad to get a big bottle.

I purchased several gallon bottles of hand sanitizer for work from Art Naturals and from Bulk Apothecary and used them to refill smaller Individual bottles for our staff. If you need a ton of sanitizer for a university, Bulk Apothecary also sells it in gallon jugs by the pallet, and it’s fairly reasonably priced at under $30 per gallon. But you have to be able to receive a pallet load (ie have a forklift and place to store a pallet of 100+ bottles)

They are planning to have dispensers all over campus. They will probably have some bottles available for our office as well, but we don't really know. However, once the public schools and the university are both back in session, I doubt we will be able to find hand sanitizer for personal use. That's why I am stocking up now. I didn't stock up last winter, and I couldn't find it anywhere around her until mid- to late May. I don't want to get caught in that situation again. I made my own disinfecting hand wipes using paper towels, rubbing alcohol (thank goodness DH had a stash of unopened bottles in the garage because we couldn't find that in stores either), and Ziploc bags, and I carried those in my purse instead of hand sanitizer. I much prefer to use hand sanitizer.

Someone posted on my local FB page of the Costco near us with empty shelves where the TP is supposed to be. I’ve been seeing plenty when I go but haven’t bought any thinking we were done with the shortage. I’ll be honest, that post made me very nervous especially when other people posted same situation at other Costco’s the past week. I’m in CA so we are getting hit hard with Covid. I’m worried if this doesn’t turn around. Now the next time I go I’m sure there will be a line to get in and the mad dash to get the TP. UGH!

I was at Sam's Club today. In the refrigerator/freezer sections they had two rows of toilet paper stacked about 6 high down the whole aisle and paper towels the same way in the next aisle over. It was a pain to navigate through. No wipes though. I've been to several stores around here and can't find those anywhere.

I don't want too much meat because no matter how much I wrap it, it still freezer burns after a month or so. Back in early March as this virus was starting to look like a big deal, we invested in a Food Saver. I’ve been vacuum sealing and freezing meat (both raw and cooked) ever since. The quality has been amazing. I had no idea defrosted food could taste this fresh.

I was in Costco and a large HEB this afternoon. It was surprising to see so many of the upper shelves completely bare at Costco. I was there for an iron and junk food so didn't check out the cleaning supplies as I am well stocked currently. At HEB, there were certain product categories that were limited or out of stock. Not a single roll of paper towels to be had, though there was plenty of t.p. Saw something I thought I'd never see in my life...completely out of Spam! DH had requested some more, but had to suffice with Vienna sausages instead. Things had been improving with grocery stores, but now I'm seeing some things go out of stock while other things show back up after a long absence. Told DH that I feel like I'm shopping as an expat all over again. See something and grab it because it might not be there next time! I read an article last week that said companies are cutting back on production on the less popular products so they can focus on their big sellers. Maybe that's what is happening with your Cherry Coke Zero.
