I bought tropical leaf stamps today to do a challenge by Danielle Dunlop on Paper Issues FB page to stamp your own background. I don’t have any green ink pads, or distress oxides, so I used Vicki Boutin’s art crayons! It’s a little messier than it would have been with ink, but I like how it turned out! Thanks for the fun challenge, Danielle! ETA: I meant to add the word view to the title. Oops!

AussieMeg - Great design & layering on the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun layout - I like the arrow! LOVE the colors on the Hello Summer page - it's probably my favorite color combo. KikiPea - That big pink flower is AMAZING on the Making Memories layout! I love how the green just makes the pics pop in the Family Time page. Your Beach View page came out great!! You did a really nice job with the VB crayons! joblackford - the butterflies are gorgeous! Your coloring/blending looks terrific...it's like you have a whole set alcohol markers, not just 3. CoffeeCrafter - way to go doing all that reorganizing & purging. One of my friends who is a big coffee drinker would 100% relate to that card. gramma - your sister is going to LOVE this album!! The color scheme and the embellishments you used are beautiful. I like how there are places for her to add more details from her point of view.

I didn't get any cards made today, but I did spend plenty of time in my craft room. I was starting to run low on my cardstock layers and card bases, so I spent a few hours doing lots of paper cutting and scoring nearly 100 card bases. Since I've been in organizing mode, I even created some labeled dividers for everything. The only thing I still need to do is laminate them.

A friend asked for a couple of the cards I made the other day, but she wanted me to add a sentiment. I got really brave and used my versamark pen to add a handwritten sentiment like she was hoping for, but then I used fonts for the other one (which she wasn’t sure she wanted the sentiment on). I did a sample of the handwritten embossing first, on a card that was already a bit messed up, but of course doing it once doesn’t mean you can do it twice. It was nerve wracking! But she was happy with the result. August cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr I also worked in my virus diaries. Added some tiny ladybug stickers to the free food page, and did a couple of random story pages. I wasn’t so sure about the outlining but I added more and suddenly it looked good! MOAR! For folks following my junk selling journey, the picture in the left top is the last car load of stuff we picked up from FIL’s place. The parasailers were one of the random park views we have from our front window. August pages by jo.blackford, on Flickr I used the technique I learned from journalofcuriousthings on IG - cutting out the surrounding spots on alpha sticker sheets when you’ve run out of stickers. It worked well for “freezer” once I put the squares on vellum, and I was able to cover up a really bright distraction in the photo. The Costco receipt is a photocopy in a scrap vellum pocket. I will probably add some doodle borders between the stories at some point, or some washi tape. August pages by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Did a baby card last night for a coworker. Found inspiration on Pinterest - a "mobile" idea, with stamped images - I adopted the idea and came up with this. Not hugely happy with the stamped "it's a girl" but will live with it The cloud wood veneer - I don't know what kit club sent me that, possibly Scraptastic, but I love love loved the clouds with the heart cut out. This is my last one! card it's a girl square by kirstendrew, on Flickr

This one was for the sketch of August 1. msliz encouraged me to try stamping with the distress oxides on the black CS and I was pleasantly surprised with how well they show up! layout gotcha by kirstendrew, on Flickr This is the example layout I created for my posted sketch on Aug. 8. The thread is HERE I used my Pink Fresh alpha dies to make the word "skink" and am again SO happy that I splurged and bought that set! layout skink encounters by kirstendrew, on Flickr

This LO is for a Kim Jensen template challenge at The Lilypad. Template by Melinda Staley, 'Vibrant' kit by Kim Jensen. This was quite a difficult challenge for me, as it's not a template I would normally choose to use.

We have been without dependable internet for the last week. Sometimes it would stay on for 8 min, sometimes almost an hours and then off again. It will take me a while to catch up to all your projects, but I think it's on to stay now. Here are a couple of things I have made while it was down. AussieMeg, kitbop, gramma and joblackford there is love in the gallery for your beautiful work. CoffeeCrafter, I love the ombre inking on your white embossed background card. Just gorgeous.Your bee card is so pretty and I particularly love the hexagon backgrounds with some of the cut pieces left in. So classy.~ I love the dry embossed back panel on your gratitude card. Did you emboss it before you inked it, or the other way around? ~ Cute and clever Coffee card. I love the touch of the little black bow.~ Cute cocktail card. I love the professional look the stitched dies give. Very pretty. KikiPea, I love your Big Park Fun page. Your clusters are so pretty. You are such a perfectionist. I can’t even see the stems. LOL. Beautiful work. Your August Scraplift Sketch is amazing. I would never think to use such large flowers on a page, and you make them look perfect. Such a warm and loving feeling on these layouts. I love that wooden background.~ Your watercoloring on the flowers of your family night page is beautiful. I love the design of the 2 pages together too.~ I love the way you used the distress crayons to stamp your background. That is such a beautiful look as they run together. Beautiful page.

Catching up on comments for page ONE: CoffeeCrafter, your cards are all amazing! Love the sentiment and the stamped image on the Soul Food card, and your shaded colouring is perfect. That interactive card is really pretty and it looks like it would be fun to open. Might give that one a try. schroema,I love how you get so many photos on a page, yet keep the page interesting and fun to look at. Fun colours on the birthday pages. My favourite of the bunch is the two pager with the tilted background and then the horizontal row of photos Totally cool! I will catch the rest on Flickr.

Just strolled through page TWO: CoffeeCrafter, your cards continue to amaze me! That beehive card is so bright and cheerful! I don't have those exact stamps or dies, but I really want to create something like it with what I DO have. Love the look of the ombre ink on the dry embossed background. The coffee card is funny! I hope you DO decide to take a leap into scrapbooking. I bet your pages would be wonderful, too! And KikiPea, your pages SING!!! Love the layering and the clustering of course. But I was noticing on these pages the way you are using unexpected combinations of colours and designs to create amazing effects. I love the navy floral with the fall leaves and the woodgrain with the flowers backing the photos against the brickwork. I also love how you use the pp border strips to tie the two pages together. I have left love on Flickr for those whose creations are there. Whew! You gals have been BUSY!

I love the dry embossed back panel on your gratitude card. Did you emboss it before you inked it, or the other way around? I dry embossed it first then did the ink blending. I did it that way so the ink would "catch" on the raised surface of the embossing as I was doing the blending. I tried it the other way around, but just didn't feel like the embossing stood out as much if I did the ink blending first.

Up to here on page THREE... CoffeeCrafter, that looks like alot of work cutting and folding, but it will make your card making much easier! Good job! I love the colour of the fancy drink in the glass. Blending is NOT one of my strengths, but I really love seeing it. KikiPea, those flowers/leaves stamped with art crayons are AMAZING!!! When you go artsy, you go all the way!!! Think I picked up the rest on Flickr.

I am pretty happy with the way the wedding album came out. I struggled for a long time coming up with a design. I actually bought 3 different sets of paper. When I saw the Paige Evans cut files this simple design just came to me. The book is much simpler than my usual style but I wanted the theme to flow through the whole book. It arrived at her home yesterday but she has not opened it yet. She and her husband want to open it together while on ZOOM with me. They had company last night so we are doing it tonight. It's killing her to wait - :-) grammadee - yes the flowers are ink shaded and the bling is a combination of pearls and Nuvo drops. I hope she love it!!

I love the design and the cute pickles made me giggle. Great clusters! grammadee , your last 4 pages are so cute. You have beautiful and talented grandchildren! Love in the gallery. gramma, those pages are incredible. I hope she loves them as much as I do. So much work and love went into them.

I have a LO and a set of cards to share this morning. This LO is my sample for tomorrow's Sketchy Saturday challenge:
POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). #1 Donna challenge two pages (10) and seven photos (7), Sketchy Saturday (1), #4 July 2020 (2), #6 <3 manufacturers (2), #9 <25 words (1), #13 & 14 (4), #17 summer 2020 album (2), #20 5x7 photo (1), #21 3.5x3.5 pic's (1), #24 smile (2), #28 timed events; feeling of about time we could go out and do something (1), #32 torn edges (2), #33 inked edges (2), #35 flat icon stickers, flat letter stickers, puffy letter stickers, thickers word sticker (4), #35 stop watch and word TIME (2), #40 father & son pic (2), #41 great outdoors (2), #44 handmade boots/rope embellishment (1). Total: 47
And here are some cards I put together using my new Newton's Nook slimline die plus some unused Ryley & Co gnome stamps and dies. A few thins I would do if I were going to make these again. One is that I would fussy cut the gnomes apart under their beards so that I could have the beards be popped up OVER the frames. The hats and noses are separate dies, but the beards are part of the outline die of the whole image.
Poiints: 4 cards created with 1 shared (5). EASY PEASY points = 15 pnt per card (60). Total: 65
We have plans for this weekend, so I won't be in here much except to check in from time to time. Have a wonderful crafty weekend!
